FSA! FSA! FSA!

In case anyone missed this.

Here we are. Putin has a president in our White House, and Wall Street and the Kochs now own the Supreme Court.

"We should not burden a sitting president with civil suits, criminal investigations or criminal prosecutions."

The bottom line: By word, wink and nod, Trump got his loyalty oath, a promise of immunity, and the power to pardon himself from Kavanaugh.

Corruption is the norm, and the rule of law is replaced by rule of man.

The nation once known as the United States of America has become the Failed States of America.

This is how democracy dies, and consent of the governed is crushed. More indicators of a failed state:

The Washington Post’s Paul Waldman tweeted: "In the age of minority rule, a Supreme Court justice appointed by a president who got fewer votes is confirmed by a party in the Senate that got fewer votes, to validate policies opposed by most Americans:"

Norm Ornstein responded: "I want to repeat a statistic I use in every talk: by 2040 or so, 70 percent of Americans will live in 15 states. Meaning 30 percent will choose 70 senators. And the 30% will be older, whiter, more rural, more male than the 70 percent. Unsettling to say the least."

European Council President Donald Tusk warns, "Dear America, appreciate your allies, after all you don't have all that many."

The fix is in. The corporate state (the "Failed States of America") is about to take, yet, another step to shield the dictator-to-be from "high crimes and misdemeanors", treasonous charges and other crimes committed leading up to and during his time in office.

The Constitutional crisis is looming. Ultimately Mueller will report of treasonous activity that will shake the foundations of the last remaining weight-bearing walls of our already failing democracies and constitutional protections. It will not matter the outcry of the governed -- the "unconsenting" governed. The corner is about to be turned.

"Failed States of America", indeed.

Jeff, many have said the Constitutional crisis exist already. The fix is in for sure and the gutless Republicons are surely enabling this mess we are in. I've called many of the enablers and told them to keep their grimy hands off of the Mueller investigation. I like to be a pain in their asses (James Jordan, Mark Meadows and Trey Gowdy) just to name a few. Looks like the Liar-in-Chief will be getting further instructions from his boss in the next few days on how to further destroy our democracy. Putin's plan appears to be working for him having his agent in the White House.

Tim, a Costitutional crisis may, as you said, already be in the making. I often wonder at what point it'll be apparent, even to the sheeple.

I mentioned a few times on other blogs, mostly, that if Clinton were elected we'd surely end up in a nuclear war, and if the choice were Trump we'd have to contend with civil war. I'm still of that mindset, although I don't rule out nuclear war with this buffoon.

Some already say we're in a "soft civil war", and that's probably pretty apparent. But wondering again, what will precipitate, if anything, a "hard one"? Where does it all go from here? What will ignite this sort of turmoil? It's anybody's guess. Only future historians will know the answer.

One thing's for sure, we've got a long way to go before we're even halfway through this crisis period -- whatever it is.

The soft civil war is over. With the largest far Right propaganda network in history, the Right has taken advantage of the serious flaws in our democracy and won their revolution over our republic. Remember the American people rewarded Bush and Cheney after they lied us into war. Enough of the country was indoctrinated for their coup to succeed. The curtain was drawing closed.

If the Bush Recession hadn't happened McCain would have won.

Obama was just a temporary slowing of their long coup. The Democrats had already bought into neo-liberalism and the military industrial complex. Obama was a better campaigner than leader, and either didn't see what was happening, or just had other priorities.

McConnell's theft of the Supreme Court vacancy combined with the Putin/Trump victory sealed the deal... The Judicial Branch has been taken, even more securely than the Legislative and Executive Branches. But they have it all now.

Even if Hillary had won, she would be playing defense every day, and probably losing. She was nothing but another neo-liberal, but the Right's propaganda machine succeeded in their 20 year effort at demonizing her. They made her look worse than Trump to the few hundred thousand critical voters in three states.

Unless the people wake up to the authoritarian takeover AND get out and vote in record numbers, the Right will hold power indefinitely. And they will consolidate and expand that power by every means of vote suppression and propaganda at their disposal.

At that point only a catastrophic event could shake their lock on power, or just as likely tip us into the abyss.

The options this election offers are grim; another, even more minor, slowing of the far Right coup, or the passive surrender of our nation to it.

"[Trump] complained that German politicians had been working for Russian energy companies after leaving politics and said this too was inappropriate. Germany was totally controlled by Russia, Trump said." ~~ Ewen MacAskill, The Guardian, July 11, 2018

While the United States government is, and has been for decades, a revolving door of Goldman Sachs poachers and other multinational corporate types -- especially during this administration.

Working and "totally controlled by Russia"? Donald Trump's "the pot calling the German kettle black".

The irony is inescapable.

Got my sign in the car "Trump Putin's Puppet" just trying to see how many times I can get flipped off or how many people support it. Support of the sign is winning so far by a slim margin. I thought Hillary was suppose to be Putin's puppet according to Don the Con. Talk about the irony.

Tim,

You're a braver man than I. Seriously, I thank you for your service. And a slim margin is a big win in Trump country.

I think I hear a new song in the air...

It sounds strikingly similar to the melody line in "Deutschland Uber Alles".

"Russia if you're listening..

No puppet no puppet

You're the puppet

It's all a hoax, fake news

Enemy of the people

the single greatest Witch Hunt

In American history

Totally controlled by Russia

Putin is fine. He's fine

We're all fine"
