With the largest far Right propaganda network in history, the Right has taken advantage of the serious flaws in our democracy and won their revolution over our republic. Remember the American people rewarded Bush and Cheney after they lied us into war. Enough of the country was indoctrinated for their coup to succeed. The curtain was drawing closed.

If the Bush Recession hadn't happened McCain would have won.

Obama was just a temporary slowing of their long coup. The Democrats had already bought into neo-liberalism and the military industrial complex. Obama was a better campaigner than leader, and either didn't see what was happening, or just had other priorities.

McConnell's theft of the Supreme Court vacancy combined with the Putin/Trump victory sealed the deal... The Judicial Branch has been taken, even more securely than the Legislative and Executive Branches. But they have it all now.

Even if Hillary had won, she would be playing defense every day, and probably losing. She was nothing but another neo-liberal, but the Right's propaganda machine succeeded in their 20 year effort at demonizing her. They made her look worse than Trump to the few hundred thousand critical voters in three states.

Unless the people wake up to the authoritarian takeover AND get out and vote in record numbers, the Right will hold power indefinitely. And they will consolidate and expand that power by every means of vote suppression and propaganda at their disposal.

At that point only a catastrophic event could shake their lock on power, or just as likely tip us into the abyss.

The options this election offers are grim; another, even more minor, slowing of the far Right coup, or the passive surrender of our nation to it.
Dave Dubyahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03279370558997246976noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-134372208798387606.post-20894176341502042402018-07-11T20:05:15.090-04:002018-07-11T20:05:15.090-04:00Tim, a Costitutional crisis may, as you said, alre...Tim, a Costitutional crisis may, as you said, already be in the making. I often wonder at what point it'll be apparent, even to the sheeple.

I mentioned a few times on other blogs, mostly, that if Clinton were elected we'd surely end up in a nuclear war, and if the choice were Trump we'd have to contend with civil war. I'm still of that mindset, although I don't rule out nuclear war with this buffoon.

Some already say we're in a "soft civil war", and that's probably pretty apparent. But wondering again, what will precipitate, if anything, a "hard one"? Where does it all go from here? What will ignite this sort of turmoil? It's anybody's guess. Only future historians will know the answer.

One thing's for sure, we've got a long way to go before we're even halfway through this crisis period -- whatever it is. The fix is in for sure and the gutless Republicons are surely enabling this mess we are in. I've called many of the enablers and told them to keep their grimy hands off of the Mueller investigation. I like to be a pain in their asses (James Jordan, Mark Meadows and Trey Gowdy) just to name a few. Looks like the Liar-in-Chief will be getting further instructions from his boss in the next few days on how to further destroy our democracy. The corporate state (the "Failed States of America") is about to take, yet, another step to shield the dictator-to-be from "high crimes and misdemeanors", treasonous charges and other crimes committed leading up to and during his time in office.

The Constitutional crisis is looming. Ultimately Mueller will report of treasonous activity that will shake the foundations of the last remaining weight-bearing walls of our already failing democracies and constitutional protections. It will not matter the outcry of the governed -- the "unconsenting" governed. The corner is about to be turned.

"Failed States of America", indeed.
