The New CRAP Motto

It was reported that Putin's Puppet got angry at Melania for watching CNN. Like Dick Cheney, he demands his FOX(R) be on at all times.

Her spokeswoman announced Melania will "watch any channel she wants".

You go, girl!

Jeff Mason of Reuters asked President Putin: "Did you want President Trump to win the election and did you direct any of your officials to help him do that?"

Putin replied, “Yes, I did. Because he talked about bringing the U.S.-Russia relationship back to normal." The White House has omitted that part of the transcript and edited it out of their accompanying video.

The Stalinist message is: “You didn’t hear that. You didn’t see that. If you did it’s not happening.”

These little incidents highlight our topic.

The Cult of Right-wing Authoritarian Personalities has a new motto.

"What you’re seeing and what you’re reading is not what’s happening".

This latest fascistic Orwellian line may as well be the motto of the far Right agenda and Trump era.

Let's try this all-encompassing CRAP motto out:

Trump: "What you’re seeing and what you’re reading is not what’s happening".

FOX(R): "What you’re seeing and what you’re reading is not what’s happening".

Hannity: "What you’re seeing and what you’re reading is not what’s happening".

Bretibart: "What you’re seeing and what you’re reading is not what’s happening".

Giuliani:  "What you’re seeing and what you’re reading is not what’s happening".

Limbaugh: "What you’re seeing and what you’re reading is not what’s happening".

Yep. By golly, it fits them all perfectly. Pure Authoritarianism.

Right. Cause we all remember how the Republicans reacted so positively to Obama's attempt to "reset" the Russia/US relationship.

And we all know how well that turned out, like telling Putin to stop it, LOL

Sure cause good/normal relationships with Russia is bad.

The only way that comment could be relevant to this post is if you think a "good/normal relationship with Russia" means submitting to their schemes to choose out leaders for us.

Darrell Michaels said...

Infidel, you don't truly believe Russia's attempts at election interference actually swayed the outcome of the election, do you sir?

Jefferson's Guardian said...

Right on, Infidel753, you hit the nail square on the head.

I'd like Majormajor to define, exactly, what is meant by a "good/normal relationship with Russia".

Jefferson's Guardian said...

"...you don't truly believe Russia's attempts at election interference actually swayed the outcome of the election, do you sir?" ~~ T. Paine

I'm not sure we know the answer to this...yet. Mr. Mueller's investigation, I'm hoping, will provide more clarity and, hopefully, resolution.

The prospect cannot be ignored that Trump's potential (probable?) collusion did sway the outcome. If so, our whole electoral process is meaningless.

We still have to wait to find out the outcome of Mr. Mueller's investigation.

Don't you agree?

Majormajor said...

No JG, YOU tell us what good/normal relations are.

You're the one who brought it up, remember? You must have intended to make some sort of point to support some sort of argument.

What us it?...and define "good/normal relationship" while you're at it.

Never forget this.

TB3 said...

"Never forget this."

It's pretty blatant and brazen. If you say something negative to the President you become the enemy. Like... you get LABELED the enemy. The news reports what the President says and the public reacts negatively, they deny it and claim it's false. Even if it's simply a video of the man uttering what the news reports he uttered.

Former officials who he feels have slighted him in some way, well now he's thinking of taking the unprecidented step of pulling their security clearances, thus depriving his own administration their institutional knowledge and context. "Oh, they're making money off of these secrets". A claim with no basis, let's act on it! Oh, but there was no collusion with Russia so, yeah, stop investigating.

Now the administration is going to stop providing the public summaries of the President's phone conversations with world leaders. You know what the best way to avoid the appearance of impropriety or collusion? Openness.

I'm sorry, Mr. President, you haven't proven yourself to be a reliable arbiter of information.

Dave Dubya said...

"I'm sorry, Mr. President, you haven't proven yourself to be a reliable arbiter of information."

An authoritarian pathological liar's mission is to con others. Information, facts, reality, whatever... Unimportant. Totalitarian sociopaths know beliefs are more powerful than knowledge, and are to be instilled and manipulated.

Just like a cult, no outside source of information is to be trusted. The world is against them.

The most important beliefs for a tyrant to instill are victimhood and blame. "We will be great when the (fill in the scapegoats) are defeated and eliminated!" Bigotry and racism are reinforced. Once this mindset is accomplished, the anger, fear and hate are fueled. From there on, his believers have surrendered their reason, morals, and basic human decency in service to the authoritarian leader.

Gullible, vulnerable, or simple people readily become drones to lie, hate, kill and die for their beliefs, and by extension, for their leader.

Just like a cult.

Bitherism, pizzagate, "Lock her up", "enemy of the people", etc. all illustrate how hate and lies work together.

JG,

You are the one who has no answers just questions...Afraid to put yourself out there aren't you. Like offering a solution to our border problem, you use any answer as a platform to criticize while hiding behind your lack of solutions. To answer your question about what I have for health care, to be blunt, it is none of your dammed business.

I see conservatives wanting to make America great again, and leftist as yourself wanting to make America Venezuela.

Ed L. said...

The border problem is that the lanes at ports of entry aren't wide enough. The U.S. can easily absorb these immigrants from Latin America and the Middle East and it would be beneficial to the economy. The so-called border problem was invented by Republicans to capture the bigot vote. Otherwise wealthy Republicans happily hire undocumented workers to harvest crops, care for their children and clean their houses - no minimum wage, no FICA.

What conservatives really want is to take America back to full white privilege again. Liberals, progressives and socialists generally want a more equitable society somewhat like Northern Europe. Venezuela's path to socialism was mismanaged by being based on one commodity.

Would you like some quotes from Bill Clinton and B.H. Obama to prove how wrong you are?

It is wrong and against the law for anyone, REGARDLESS of their party affiliation, to hire or hide an illegal immigrant. Period.

"more equitable society somewhat like Northern Europe."
Would you like some links to sources to prove how wrong you are?

"Venezuela's path to socialism was mismanaged by being based on one commodity."
Five years ago Bernie Sanders praised Venezuela's socialist policies. Today Venezuela is collapsing under those same socialist policies that Sanders praised.

"These days, the American dream is more apt to be realized in South America, in places such as Ecuador, Venezuela and Argentina, where incomes are actually more equal today than they are in the land of Horatio Alger."

TB3,

Kenya and Obama, another take. Now before you claim I'm a racist birther see this.

"The clip from the grand opening of the center in Kogelo shows him saying, "Three years ago, I visited Kenya as the first sitting American president to come from Kenya."

He’s talking about a July 2015 trip to Kenya and Ethiopia for the annual Global Entrepreneurship Summit.

Obama did use those words (check the 5:50-minute mark of this video). But it doesn’t support the impression the article gives, which is that birther claims should be re-investigated because Obama admitted he "comes from Kenya." The article frames his comment as a "slip."

https://www.politifact.com/punditfact/statements/2018/jul/25/supremeinsidercom/did-obama-admit-being-born-kenya/

And remember I asked Dave his take on it, I did not offer as it as proof.

TB3 said...

So.. what point are you making again? Are you being a birther or not?

Darrell Michaels said...

J.G., yes I think we need to have Mr. Mueller continue and hopefully wrap up his investigation soon.  As I commented on my site, I am skeptical about the objectivity and professionalism of the investigation based on the numerous hyper-partisans and unprofessionals leading the way though.  Further, I suspect any lawlessness will probably be minimal.  The left will blow it out of proportion and scream in vindication for impeachment regardless.  The right will pooh pooh it and ignore the findings as inconsequential from the long witch hunt.  Of course the findings will likely be released right before the mid-term elections in a scathing report regardless of the findings for maximum effect.  If true credible evidence of collusion is found, I will side with those calling for prosecution and punishment.  I still believe in the rule of law, even though that seems a sentimental and archaic notion these days.

"Now the administration is going to stop providing the public summaries of the President's phone conversations with world leaders. You know what the best way to avoid the appearance of impropriety or collusion? Openness." ~ TB3

I completely agree with you, TB3.  Resorting to secrecy and then spreading false narratives is never the way to garner trust with the citizenry.  (I.E. Loretta Lynch and Bill Clinton met clandestinely on a Phoenix airport tarmac simply to discuss their grandchildren and not the investigation that the DOJ was conducting against Hillary.)  I guess that whole goose and gander things gets lost when applied to the left by some folks.  (And I am not referring to you particularly, TB3)

The border problem is that the lanes at ports of entry aren't wide enough. ~ Ed L.

I wouldn't have a problem with this if they stopped at the ports of entry to say.. check in, get a work visa, or apply for citizenship perhaps.  Oh, and I agree that Republicans and everyone else that exploits these people by paying them minimally under the table should be prosecuted and fined too.

Now, now TP. Their being on the tarmac was hardly clandestine. It was daytime. There were cameras. You are being dramatic. It's also dismissive when you engage in perceived whataboutism and false narrative to lessen the current appearances of impropriety. It pained you to fully agree so you had to tack on a "wellllll there was that one time Dems did this thing that was in no way similar but let's pretend it was"

Majormajor said...

Share with us the photos please.

BTW the last two Presidents met with Putin behind closed doors.

Darrell Michaels said...

TB3, they didn't want their meeting to discuss their "grandchildren" to be known publicly. Evidently the last real reporter in the world caught wind of the meeting and made note of it. It was at that time that the seeming impropriety of appearances was then recognized by Lynch and Clinton. These two brilliant lawyers evidently didn't realize that the AG investigating the wife of the former president probably shouldn't meet to discuss their "grandchildren" until the investigation was concluded.

We could probably offer lots of other examples of a lack of leftist transparency too. Hillary deciding which 30K emails to delete from her private server to be turned over to the State Department on her own comes to mind. How about the whole debate on Obamacare that was promised to be carried out on C-Span, instead of negotiated with bribes behind closed doors so that the we would have to wait to see what was in it after it was passed. Openness and transparency are hardly hallmarks of recent government, regardless of the party in charge, my friend.

TB3 said...

Yes they did. Ok, what point are you attempting to make?

TB3 said...

"It was at that time that the seeming impropriety of appearances was then recognized by Lynch and Clinton"

Right. Yes. It looked bad. But saying both sides do it as a response to the current impropriety is dismissive of the current impropriety. You're handwaving.

Re: Cspan

Conspiracy, TP? The administration doesn't control Cspan. And the alleged bribery is from the realm of foil battery.

TB3 said...

Damn auto correct. Hattery. Not battery.

Darrell Michaels said...

Indeed, TB3.

It doesn't matter about all of the myriad past incidents of malfeasance under Democrat administrations that the left could not care less about but bringing that up now is simply "whataboutism". Got it.

We are only outraged about CURRENT issues of seeming malfeasance under Republican leadership.

Thanks for clarifying that for me, sir! :)

HIPAA doesn't prelude any government-sponsored health plans, nor does it insinuate your use of a private plan. It does assure confidentiality of a person's medical history, though.

Yes or no, Chuck, are you insured through a government health plan? It should be very easy to answer.

TB3 said...

"We are only outraged about CURRENT issues of seeming malfeasance under Republican leadership."

As I've explained in the past, it makes no sense to be "outraged" by the past. Be outraged all you want about things that have happened and what you believe/perceive to have happened. Just don't let it distract you from the now.

It's like when MM kept hammering on the picture of Obama and Farrakhan and wondered where the outrage from the left was... and like... it's hard to get outraged over a 11 year old photo. At least to any proportionate degree to what's happening right in front of us now. There was plenty of discussion and wringing of hands with Clinton and Lynch. When it happened. It's over. Pointing out you think similar occurances in the past didn't get the rage they needed... well, ok. Is that justifying your tepid response or attitude to what's happening today? Oh the Libs didn't react how I reacted to these people I don't like, so I'm gonna let the new guy slide cause we're suddenly suddenly sensative of hypocricy.

2. "BTW the last two Presidents met with Putin behind closed doors."
The point TB3 is where was/are the screams from the left demanding transcripts for these meetings?
Crickets.
The point is the left is at war with the President and will grasp any opportunity to damage him in any manner including acts of treason. This is what happens when the left losses power.

BTW have you read the of most recent GDP?

TB3 said...

MM,

1) I seem to recall seeing video or photos of the meeting at the time. I'm not going to look them up and if my memory of an event from 2 years ago is faulty, I apologize. the fact we know they met and it was reported at the time seems pretty indicative of it not being much of a secret.

2) Look them up yourself. They were held in private but the public/press was informed of what happened during those meetings and what was discussed. And it was the last 3 Presidents, not the last 2. The fact the public/press was informed of these meetings and what was said is markedly different than what we were given regarding the 2 hour private meeting. I am not engaging in conspiracy regarding the meeting, I'm pointing out the difference.

"The point is the left is at war with the President and will grasp any opportunity to damage him in any manner including acts of treason."

And we had to endure 6 years of Republican obstruction when a D was in office. Don't cry to me about how Trump's being treated unfairly.

"BTW have you read the of most recent GDP?"

Yup! Fantastic news. I look forward to reading more deeply into it this weekend.

TB3 there are no videos of the meeting from inside the plane where the meeting took place, nor are there any transcripts. NONE!

The public found out because a reporter at the airport happened to see Clinton enter the plane and reported same. The press WAS NOT informed of the meeting and only after the meeting were they given the reason for the behind closed doors secret meeting.

SO your fight against our President is to just get even? How very childish of you. How very misinformed you are, must be a Alhambra, CA thing.

The left acts this way when ever they are out of power only now it is more violent than before. https://twitter.com/fleccas/status/1022715131682160640/video/1

I am not fighting against our President. What are you going on about? What does Alhambra have to do with anything? What are you babbling about?

And thank you for that twitter video out of left field. I am not sure what your point is here. Shall I dig up that video from a couple of days ago where a racist followed a black man home just to shout expletives at him and make a claim this is because a Republican is in office and the racists are emboldened to do these acts? No. I'm not going to do that. I'll leave that up to others to point out to you.

Yes, those are words I use for haters and liars in the Party of Trump. And they are fitting epithets for those propagating the above hate and lies. I have also said there are many smarter and more decent Republicans and conservatives not of their ilk. Our nation needs them more than ever for sanity, and decency, and better government.

Oh, and then there is this comment from Tom's blog, "To see the enemy of the people, just look to the Right." Yep, he is right. This is indeed how "all illustrate how hate and lies work together."

For context and the point of the statement, my comment addressed the enemies of democracy and Trump's bending the knee to Putin:
==========

Trump, and his Party of Trump, and their willfully ignorant supporters have all just become de facto agents of Russia.

Our free press is not the enemy of the people. The Party of Trump is the enemy of the people, enemy of democracy, and enemy of truth.

Our country is run by useful idiots. The tragedy is this: Only a massive, super-majority of voters can reverse it due to the structural bias of our elections. House gerrymandering, the Senate, and the Electoral College are all fatal flaws in democratic representation. The tyranny of the minority has resulted from the Right's exploitation of those flaws.

To see the enemy of the people, just look to the Right.
