Any Bets?

John McCain is gone. Also gone is the last gasp of moderation and decency in conservatism and the Republican Party.

While he never met a war he didn't like, and cursed our nation with the ignorance of Sarah Palin, McCain had a sense of honor and basic human decency that is no longer found in American Con-servatism.

He is now a relic of the past.

While campaigning in 2008, McCain did the decent thing, and told a fearful low-information voter that he didn’t have to be "scared" of Obama. The very next moment a frightened woman said, “I can’t trust Obama. I have read about him, and he’s not, um, he’s an Arab.”

He did the decent thing again.

“No, ma’m,” he said. “He’s a decent family man [and] citizen that just I just happen to have disagreements with on fundamental issues, and that’s what the campaign’s all about. He’s not [an Arab].”

Now those same frightened ill-informed people are listening to Trump. They are why Trump is in the White House, thanks to the Right's propaganda machinery.

In accepting the Freedom Medal at the National Constitutional Center in October, McCain condemned “half-baked, spurious nationalism cooked up by people who would rather find scapegoats than solve problems.”

This is what separated him from the Trump Crime Cartel. If only he could have realized that is almost the entire MO of con-servatism.

McCain made one last decent contribution to his country. He invited George W. Bush and Barack Obama to share the eulogy at his funeral. Not inviting the current president was his last gesture of decency, briefly uniting Americans of both major parties. The Party of Trump was not invited.

The hated “liberal media” and “enemy of the people” are all running thoughtful tributes to the veteran, former POW and senator. It is a reflection of basic human decency.

John Kerry and Al Gore also put their lives on the line in Vietnam. Will con-servatives and FOX (R) and Breitbart show equal decency and respect, or any admiration at all for them?

Any bets on their decency?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I heard that President Obama was one of three people chosen to give the eulogy at the funeral, and that Trump was asked to not attend or not invited. Is this true?

Dave Dubya said...

Anon,
We shouldn't forget anyone who went over there.

Ex Con,
Not invited. Thank you for mentioning that. McCain's final act of decency was worth adding to the post.

Indeed, the mobster-in-chief has been snubbed and uninvited to McCain's funeral. As a matter of fact, former President Barack Obama has been asked to give the eulogy.

Imagine that!

Speaking of Robert Mueller, I heard a rumor that a recent Fox News survey had him polling higher in approval than Donald Trump.

Can anyone confirm this?

Dave Dubya said...

McCain's final message was summed nicely in the meme:

"Sorry Trump. I just prefer presidents who weren't captured by Putin".

Dave, I had to chuckle, but so very true with the "Sorry Trump. I just prefer presidents who weren't captured by Putin". I'm getting more favorable responses to my Putin's puppet sign than unfavorable ones also.

Majormajor,
Is that your idea of saying something decent about a dead veteran? Projecting hate. Thanks for the supporting evidence of my case.

Poor MM is confused. He doesn't know what Trump and his party want him so say yet.

Tim,
Thank you again for your service to humanity and decency.

John McCain was a decent man, who went through some unimaginable hardships.Barack Obama is a decent man also. Not everybody agreed with either of them regarding their views, yet you cannot honestly dispute the fact that overall they were (are) good men.

Donald Trump is not a good, decent man...just the truth. The only people that say he is, have changed the meaning of the words to fit their agenda. He never has been a good man, and never will be.

If I had children, I would teach them to NOT emulate anything he does. Embarrassing.

Majormajor said...

Hey DD, I didn't say that about McCain, it was Woodenman who did, not me. It was liberal who said that, not me..But you knew that.

Dave Dubya said...

MM,
But you knew that.

Nobody here had any reason to know who you quoted. You didn't say! And it's not even in this thread.

And it was an individual's statement, not "you guys".

But you're right that a lot of liberals didn't like McCain. The same is true for you and Trump, and other far Right conservatives.

Despite his flaws, (McCain voted for Trump's positions 83% of the time.) he earned due respect, and even forgiveness for the times he saw the light.

Unlike Trump, McCain could show basic human decency. I'm just stating the obvious.

Majormajor said...

But you knew and in typical DD leftist manner put into my mouth the words of someone else. I was just defending myself, get a grip. I haven't said word about McCain but other leftists have so I quoted one. Would you like more quotes from the hate filled left?

LOL Great last words, from the last of his breed -- to the maniacal president leading and representing the new one.

Majormajor said...

Fake last great words.

Dave Dubya said...

To be clear I quoted a meme that summed McCain's message. Go look.

Since MM has great difficulty crediting people their words, I'll offer McCain's exact final farewell words.
==

We weaken our greatness when we confuse our patriotism with tribal rivalries that have sown resentment and hatred and violence in all the corners of the globe. We weaken it when we hide behind walls rather than tear them down, when we doubt the power of our ideals, rather than trust them to be the great force for change they’ve always been.

We are 325 million opinionated, vociferous individuals. We argue and compete and sometimes even vilify each other in our raucous public debates. But we have always had so much more in common with each other than in disagreement. If only we remember that and give each other the benefit of the presumption that we all love our country, we will get through these challenging times. We will come through them stronger than before. We always do.

Ten years ago, I had the privilege to concede defeat in the election for president. I want to end my farewell to you with the heartfelt faith in Americans that I felt so powerfully that evening.

I feel it powerfully still.

Do not despair of our present difficulties but believe always in the promise and greatness of America, because nothing is inevitable here. Americans never quit. We never surrender. We never hide from history. We make history.

Farewell, fellow Americans. God bless you and God bless America.

==

This is why many on the Left have a measure of respect for McCain. And it is why the Right hates him. They have embraced hate, and abandoned decency. As long as those in power embrace hate and abandon decency, I'm afraid we will not "get through these challenging times".

Dave Dubya said...

so how dare one post something that doesn't attack President Trump. So sad.

That happens to be every comment he ever made. So sad.

Not to deflect from "correcting the record", I'd like to mention the other end of life message McCain sent by inviting Obama and Bush, and NOT inviting Palin. Like finally admitting the Iraq war was unjustified, he admitted putting Palin into our national politics was a mistake. He realized she was the shrill, ignorant, hate-filled harbinger of Trumpism.

And to deflect to what MM is doing his best to ignore we have this, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll.

* 63 percent of Americans support Robert S. Mueller III's investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 election.
* 67 percent of Americans say Mueller's investigation against Trump's former campaign chief, Paul Manafort, was justified. A jury found Manafort guilty of bank and tax fraud last week.
* 53 percent of Americans think Trump tried to interfere with Mueller's investigation in a way that amounts to obstruction of justice.
* 60 percent of Americans don't approve of the job Trump's doing as president.
* 49 percent of Americans think Congress should begin impeachment proceedings.
Trump still has a majority of Republicans on his side on most of these issues. But, critically, not the nation.
* 64 percent of Americans think Trump should not fire Sessions, including nearly half of Republicans.
* 62 percent of them say they think Sessions was following the law in recusing himself from overseeing the Russia investigation.

It is unfortunate MM is unable to comment on Trump's sinking approval and growing rejection by the American people.

And what about the 53 percent who know he's a crook? Quick! Look! Whatabout over there???

And that's just what he did!

It was duly flushed for the CRAP it is.

https://www.truthorfiction.com/fbi-corruption-decades-in-a-nutshell-commentary-on-clinton-foundation-misleading/

Summary of eRumor:
A commentary titled “FBI Corruption … Decades in a Nutshell” draws links between the Clinton Foundation, Robert Mueller,James Comes and the ongoing investigation of the Trump campaign.

The Truth:
The “FBI Corruption … Decades in a Nutshell” is at least rooted in truth. But facts and details are intentionally misrepresented to advance of FBI corruption. For that reason, we’re calling the commentary “misleading.”

It’s clear that its claims are misleading, and in some cases outright false. We’re not going to bother fact-checking the rest of it. Given that many of the details are rooted in fact but are presented inaccurately, we’re calling this commentary “misleading.”

And still.... 63 percent of Americans support Robert S. Mueller III's investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 election. AND 53 percent of Americans think Trump tried to interfere with Mueller's investigation in a way that amounts to obstruction of justice.

No wonder he needed to deflect so frantically.

Dave Dubya said...

Majormajor is upset I deleted his lengthy dishonest deflection. Too bad. He’s been fairly warned what happens when he does that. He still has the right to be a stupid liar and call me foolish.

Majormajor knows I won’t tolerate his uncredited and unsourced copy and paste propaganda. But he is rude and disrespectful enough to do it again and again.

MM in his typical authoritarian manner accuses me of being “foolish for denying” what he claims is truth. (While he was inconsiderate to not reveal his source, I was considerate enough to show where his BS is exposed for what it is.)

Why isn’t he happy with that? Because in his hateful anger he wants to deflect, accuse and play the victim card. See Authoritarian Rules and Tactics for Discourse for more such dishonest methods they use.

This crazy bit from a eulogy for Aretha must be what sent the tingle up MM’s leg:

"No, black lives do not matter," Rev. Williams said. "Black lives will not matter, black lives ought not matter, black lives should not matter, black lives must not matter until black people start respecting black lives and stop killing ourselves."

Imagine if we played his game and replaced black with white, human, or American lives.

White Americans kill each other too, you know.

"No, white American lives do not matter. White American lives will not matter, white American lives ought not matter, white American lives should not matter, white American lives must not matter until white American people start respecting white American lives and stop killing ourselves."

This would mean MM’s life does not matter, MM’s life will not matter, MM’s life ought not matter, MM’s life should not matter, MM’s life must not matter until white American people start respecting white American lives and stop killing ourselves.

Sounds just as crazy to me. I guess it makes sense to Majormajor, amirite?

For a decent, respectful, uplifting eulogy, I would suggest MM hear Obama’s eulogy for McCain. But he won’t listen to that Black Guy, will he?

Ex Con servative said...

Meghan McCain had a touching, very emotional eulogy for her father. She also made many references to our wonderful orange leader. You really have to watch it. The difference between the two men couldn't be more great, and she eloquently made her point.

I'm glad the undemocratic, unconstitutional, censoring, anti free media, cowardly, dishonest, and mean spirited fool was not invited. It would have been a disgrace.

Ex Con,
MM wishes he could censor what we say, but he can't. So he does the next best thing and go through his authoritarian playbook to distract, deflect, distort, demean, dismiss, etc.

TB3,
Instead MM telling you what leftists want to ban, he simply dismissed your request and ordered you to go look elsewhere. How authoritarian is that? Even after I already showed where his BS could be seen and was evaluated at www.truthorfiction.com

Authoritarians HATE to answer questions. That's why they hate liberals and the press. We use our First Amendment right for it's intended purpose, to redress grievances, to question authority and speak our conscience.

Majormajor prefers to express his free speech by employing authoritarian rules and tactics, playing his victim card and demeaning me as "foolish chicken Dave". He's the real victim here, you know.

It's hilarious how he howls about "censorship" in his deflections to victimhood, while his personal insults for me remain in plain sight. He's emulating Trump all the way.

So sad.

But then again, his behavior is the subject of our discussion of the death of decency on the con-servative Trump Right.

He doesn't have the insight to understand this, of course.

Kind of funny. But so sad.

He didn't.

Leftist censorship of anything they don't like...so typical, so normal for a group that want to ban so many things that our Constitution guarantees us."

Now the conundrum is this. Do I delete some truth he doesn't want us to know? He used to try to intimidate people by guessing their place of residence. Not cool. Indecent even. A hateful tactic.

Let's say we have his name and address that he unwittingly revealed. Funny as hell, isn't it? Even it it wasn't his name, it would still be stupid to reveal someone else's name if they didn't wish it, even if that person is the hateful dishonest author.

Maybe he really wants the attention now. His aggression has certainly been emboldened by Trump.

Come and get me JG, let's see who craps their pants.

If he crosses this line and becomes threatening, we know who to report.

"WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump said he would freeze the pay of federal workers next year, saying the nation can't afford the 2.1% raises that would have gone into effect without presidential action.

In a notice to Congress Thursday, Trump cited 'serious economic conditions' in cutting pay to civilian workers. 'We must maintain efforts to put our nation on a fiscally sustainable course, and federal agency budgets cannot sustain such increases,' Trump said.
" ~~ Greg Korte, USA Today, 8/31/2018

The cited "serious economic conditions" refers to the gigantic deficits created due to the tax cuts rolled out to the wealthy and corporations with the new law passed in December of last year.

Get ready...it's coming to all of America real soon.

Gee, Mr. President, just how were those tax cuts going to make America great again? I'm still waiting...

Ex Con servative said...

It's coming to all of America real soon...that was the plan all along.

Just wait, when the economy crashes(which it will), the right will find an effective way to blame the Democrats. It worked great in 2010. They blamed president Obama for not fixing the disaster he was handed soon enough. All the talk radio clowns were on the bandwagon, and pounded the point home to the not so smart.

Heck, they even rewrite history and accuse FDR's policies of extending the Great Depression. Wow.

We are going to pay a very serious long term price for embracing Reaganomics for almost 40 years. It's gonna hurt (and not so good.)

Dave Dubya said...

Fear not. Republican Jesus and his wealthy disciples love having all the extra cash. It will not only magically create millions of great paying factory jobs, but replenish the ground with clean, cheap, and abundant coal. The Orange Messiah is generously allowing more mercury to be spewed into our air to help burning that coal be more profitable too. If that's not making America great, I don't know what is.

We can trust Republicans. Look what they did for Flint's drinking water. The greatness rises!

Ex Con servative said...

I just watched the movie "Roger and Me" last night...caught it late while surfing. Supposedly the evil Michael Moore is a commie, and out to destroy America. Yet all his films contain nothing but actual footage of events and actual people being interviewed. Watch the movie to see when Flint started to slide into decay, and the attitudes that contributed to this. I love his movies by the way.

Ironically it's been proven that while tax cuts greatly benefit the wealthy, they actually hurt middle and lower class people.Employers hold back wages knowing that employees will have added take home pay from the cut. It ends up being a wash at best, yet the losses from cutting safety net programs, and the damage from the CEOs hoarding stock options instead of reinvesting in the company crush the poor and less fortunate. You know, the people that the real Jesus stood up for, not hedge fund Jesus.

I also happened to catch the wonderful Peter Popoff ministry show last night also. He's already been caught in the act, and proven to be a fraud, yet he's still on the air scamming people.

What would the REAL Jesus think of all this stuff? And why wouldn't somebody want some of "their money" to go to help the less fortunate, especially if they professed to be Christian? Dark times for sure.

Dave Dubya said...

Real wages are falling.

As the wealthy elites get more, the rest get less. No wonder Trump thinks the economy is great, (but not so great to pay federal employees).

https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2018/08/10/america-wage-growth-is-getting-wiped-out-entirely-by-inflation/?utm_term=.8f380d28a2b0

Wage growth isn’t keeping up with inflation.

Rising prices have erased U.S. workers’ meager wage gains, the latest sign strong economic growth has not translated into greater prosperity for the middle and working classes.

Cost of living was up 2.9 percent from July 2017 to July 2018, the Labor Department reported Friday, an inflation rate that outstripped a 2.7 percent increase in wages over the same period. The average U.S. “real wage,” a federal measure of pay that takes inflation into account, fell to $10.76 an hour last month, 2 cents down from where it was a year ago.

The stagnation in pay defies U.S. growth, which has increased in the past year and topped 4 percent in the second quarter of 2018 — the highest rate since mid-2014.

This will only get worse with tariffs and corporate tax cuts. There aint no such thing as "trickle down" wealth. They are hoarding wealth and using tax cuts to buy up more stock and shares of the pie.

Meanwhile low-information Trump voters are the real losers, and they don't even know they've been played for gullible chumps and suckers.

Ex Con servative said...

I totally agree Dave. Trickle down was a lie from the get go.I would argue that the real world stats for people falling behind are much worse than the "official" stats.

To put it in perspective, $4.00 an hour in 1979 is the equivalent of $22.50 per hour today, according to a recent study. I believe it.

Our modern "capitalists" in this country look at everything and everybody as a way to make money. If I can make more, I'll do it, even if it means taking it away from you. Drain the government funds for your own benefit...it's all OK. It's a total, wholesale looting of everything and everybody, with no accountability. So much corruption and fraud.

A very wealthy German CEO was interviewed a while back by a Bloomberg reporter. The reporter grilled him on the high tax rate he pays...How can he stand it? His response: "I'd rather be a rich man in a nice country, than a super rich man in a poor country."

Imagine that, a CEO realizing when enough is enough, and actually thinking about others and his country....how strange!

Why would you even think the History Channel would step outside of the narrow lines made up by the 9/11 Commission? Do you really believe the History Channel would jeopardize corporate funding and sponsorship by exposing the real story?

No way!

During commercial break I found that the BBC (NOT DISNEY) debunked the Tower 7 conspiracy plot...It says Tower Seven had an unusual design, built over an electricity substation and a subway; there were many fires that burnt for hours; and crucially, fire fighters could not fight the fires in Tower 7, because they didn't have enough water and focused on saving lives.

Investigators have focused on the east side where the long floor spans were under most stress.

They think fires burnt long enough to weaken and break many of the connections that held the steel structure together.

Most susceptible were the thinner floor beams which required less fireproofing, and the connections between the beams and the columns. As they heated up the connections failed and the beams sagged and failed, investigators say.

The collapse of the first of the Twin Towers does not seem to have caused any serious damage to Tower Seven, but the second collapse of the 1,368ft (417m) North Tower threw debris at Tower Seven, just 350ft (106m) away.

Tower Seven came down at 5.21pm. Until now most of the photographs have been of the three sides of the building that did not show much obvious physical damage. Now new photos of the south side of the building, which crucially faced the North Tower, show that whole side damaged and engulfed in smoke."

"During commercial break I found that the BBC (NOT DISNEY) debunked the Tower 7 conspiracy plot... ~~ Majormajor (otherwise known as Timothy)

Timothy, I'm glad you switched from the cartoon version, although I hope you realize your chances of finding real scientific scrutiny isn't going to be found with the BBC. In many circles, probably most hoping to discover truth, the BBC equates to Fox News in this country.

If you're really interested in finding the facts about WTC7 -- and get down-and-dirty with all the investigative authorities and their analyses -- you'll have to indulge in some real book-reading. One-hour TV programs, or reports commemorating the event on the web today, aren't going to delve into the nuance and details so crucial to the understanding of the falling of this building.

You're going to immediately reject what I'm saying, because I know you Timothy, and you're going to delve deeper and more doggedly on the web searching for evidence to prove me wrong. I'm just saying, don't bother, and don't waste your time -- or mine.

Instead, go to your favorite online bookseller and buy this: The Mysterious Collapse of World Trade Center 7. The subtitle reads: Why the Final Report about 9/11 is Unscientific and False.

Once you've read this, come back at me. Until then, and as usual with you, you're just pissing in the wind.

Now keep in mind, this is a book, so stick with it and don't expect to be able to cheat with the CliffsNotes. You're really going to have to be less Trump-like and actually read. Can you do this? ;-)

Jefferson's Guardian said...

Timothy, I realize you're an advocate and believer of the government's conspiracy theory, which is really all it is since the 9/11 Commission Report didn't actually provide evidence or proof.

The Commission only supplied their own full-of-holes "theory" -- designed to appease the critics that an investigation needed to be conducted. As late as it took to initiate, the official account only served to create more questions than it answered.

You go ahead and embrace your own conspiracy theory, and I'll stick to mine -- which is more logical and based upon physical possibilities and withstands scientific scrutiny.

I realize logical discourse and understanding doesn't appeal to your very narrow and simplistic worldview. That's very evident in the years I've had the displeasure in knowing you.

Fantasy doesn't fit within my explanation of how and why the universe reveals itself. I know this isn't the case with you.

Enjoy watching all the conspiracy theories presented on the History Channel today. While you're at it, be sure to read how Jesus walked on water and created loaves of bread from thin-air to feed the multitudes. ;-)

The impossibility of them all occurring could only be miraculous, indeed!

Unemployment at record lows for ALL races.

Middle-class income hit at all-time high of $61,372 last year, U.S. Census Bureau says.

"The elites cook statistics to lie about a recovery from the 2008 global financial crash. To gather unemployment statistics, for example, government agents ask people two questions: Are you working? If they answer 'yes' they are counted as employed even if they have a temporary job in which they work only an hour a week. If they say 'no' they are asked if they have been looking for work. If they have not looked for work in the last four weeks they are magically erased from the unemployment rolls. And then there is the long list of those not counted as unemployed, such as prisoners, the retired, stay-at-home spouses and high school and college students who want jobs. Alternative facts did not begin with Donald Trump.

'You don’t have to be a statistical genius to understand that over the last 10 years, a significant number of people gave up looking because it’s too disgusting,' Wolff said. 'The jobs they were offered were inferior to what they had before or so insecure that it made their family life impossible. They went back to school, went into the illegal economy or began to live off their friends, relatives and neighbors.'

'The quality of the jobs, the security, the benefits and the impact on physical and mental health have been cascading downward as the wages remain stagnant,' he went on. 'We’re not in a recovery. We’re in an ongoing decline, which, by the way, is why Mr. Trump got elected. This is happening to capitalism in Western Europe, Japan and the United States. This is why an angry working class is looking for ways to express and change its circumstances.'

I don't think Majormajor wants anyone to understand what "median" means. It's not the average.

When the elites wealth skyrockets like it has, the median will go up, but it does not reflect the average, which is slipping behind the rate of inflation.

But as we know, when only the rich get richer, that is what really matters to the Party of Trump.

Majormajor said...

This is the only answer you socialist need. If the guardian of Jefferson owning slaves president can C&P so can I.

One week after Jim Carrey suggested we "say yes to socialism," a Venezuelan journalist is speaking out against the actor's suggestion.

“We have to say yes to socialism — to the word and everything,” Carrey, who’s among the richest in Hollywood, said last week on HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher” show. “We have to stop apologizing.”

In an article published in the Venezuelan outlet Runrunes, columnist Laureano Márquez argued that socialism is the root cause of the country's current state of crisis.

"Dear Jim, I admire you a lot, but sometimes it seems that the inability of Hollywood stars to understand politics is directly proportional to their talent," Marquez began his column.

"I read that...you said: 'We have to say yes to socialism, to the word [‘socialism’] and to everything.' Perhaps for you, as for all humanity, the word 'socialism' sounds beautiful," he continued.

The journalist then went on to explain that while many define socialism as "the antithesis of selfishness, synonym of concern for others...support for the weakest and their needs, of seeking health and education for all," in reality Marquez believes socialism today has "deep threats."

"[In] Venezuela, what we find is just that our regime is not – for God’s sake – the antithesis of selfishness," he wrote Wednesday. "In Venezuela, dear Jim, from what I have just told you, there is no equitable distribution of wealth; wealth is concentrated, as rarely before in our history, in very few hands."

Marquez explained that people in Venezuela are "at God's mercy" and are fleeing the country "however way they can" as they do not have access to medication, food or other basic needs.

"[This is] a tragedy that is compounded by the denial of a regime that claims that the population has never been better."

By Sasha Savitsky

Median income is the amount that divides the income distribution into two EQUAL groups, half having income above that amount, and half having income below that amount. Mean income (average) is the amount obtained by dividing the total aggregate income of a group by the number of units in that group. So now the socialists are changing the goal posts.. Was the median income under THE ONE higher or lower?

A new report shows that the median household income has climbed 3% since President Trump took office. In April 2018 $61,483, in January 2017 $$59,471.

Of course JG will not read this or believe it if he does, because it is right wing fake news, propaganda. LOL.

In an interview with Hugh Hewitt on Friday, Bob Woodward said that in his two years of investigating for his new book, 'Fear,' he found no evidence of collusion or espionage between Trump and Russia. Woodward said he looked for it "hard" and yet turned up nothing.

"So let’s set aside the Comey firing, which as a Constitutional law professor, no one will ever persuade me can be obstruction. And Rod Rosenstein has laid out reasons why even if those weren’t the president’s reasons. Set aside the Comey firing. Did you, Bob Woodward, hear anything in your research in your interviews that sounded like espionage or collusion?" Hugh Hewitt asked Woodward.

"I did not, and of course, I looked for it, looked for it hard," Woodward answered. "And so you know, there we are. We’re going to see what Mueller has, and Dowd may be right. He has something that Dowd and the president don’t know about, a secret witness or somebody who has changed their testimony. As you know, that often happens, and that can break open or turn a case."

"But you’ve seen no collusion?" Hewitt asked again to confirm.

"I have not," Woodward affirmed.

Dave Dubya said...

So Hewitt’s opinion has clout with Majormajor?

Hewitt said that Trump did not possess "the temperament to be president". He ought to know, he’s a “Constitutional law professor”.

Must be “fake news”, amirite? Of course, Woodward has no authority to subpoena and to get answers under sworn oath. But he DID get a lot of disturbing information that MM would love to deflect our attention from.

Woodward is a journalist and reports the facts. He didn't research or witness the Trump Tower meeting, so he didn't "see collusion" there. Woodward also didn’t see money laundering and ties to the Russian mob in Trump Tower.

But somebody is investigating it.

"We’re going to see what Mueller has, and Dowd may be right," Woodward said. "He has something that Dowd and the president don’t know about, a secret witness or somebody who has changed their testimony. As you know, that often happens, and that can break open or turn a case."

What are the chances Manifort "saw collusion"?

And there’s this:

“And so what’s the, what is one of the realities of the Trump presidency? There’s a war on truth. We see it now in his statements about Puerto Rico.”

Trump refuses to acknowledge the deaths resulting from Hurricane Maria was far more than twenty.

“No collusion, no collusion” is just part of the war on truth.

Washington Post fact-checkers note:

The president of the United States has surpassed 5,000 false or misleading claims since his inauguration on Jan. 20, 2017. It’s an incredible feat of serial mendacity. Never in history have there been so many dead cherry trees in the land of Washington.

To be precise, that’s 5,001 claims in 601 days, according to The Fact Checker’s database tracking and analyzing all of Trump’s suspect statements.

This stream of falsehoods and misdirections has become a defining feature of the Trump presidency. Untruths are a staple of the president’s speeches, interviews and tweets, Cabinet meetings, bilateral summits and news conferences, bill signings, video messages and campaign rallies. Sometimes he makes false claims because he’s confusing his talking points on the economy; sometimes he tells demonstrable lies about his alleged affairs. And as time has gone by, Trump has only increased his rate of making false or misleading claims.

The average over Trump’s presidency is 8.3 claims a day. But in the nine days after Labor Day, his rate was nearly four times higher: 32 per day.

Additionally, these same terms and conditions will apply to Tom Degan's The Rant.

But, that's not all. As previously mentioned, with both of these fine gentlemen you'll be expected to offer an apology. This apology will begin with admitting that you searched out and camped on their blogs specifically for trolling purposes. Then, you'll say you're sorry for being the asshole nuisance and disruption that you've been -- and will never be again because you're going to explain why. That meaning you'll never return again. Ever.

These are my conditions, and believe me they're not negotiable.

If you believe I'm playing with you, Timmy, or bluffing in any way, you better think about what I'm offering. Consider my offer, and mull it over with as much time as you need, because the next stage of revelations could be very, very embarrassing -- and you know what I'm talking about.

Jefferson's Guardian said...

Yes, agreed, Trump is the symptom of a terrible disease that first started becoming noticeable with Ronald Reagan's presidency. The symptoms have grown more noticeable and hideous since.

One of those symptoms has been the overt and purposeful display of racism and intolerance of people of color and other minorities, while the disease attacking our democratic institutions and freedoms of choice and expression have continued to go unheeded -- ironically, by those most affected by the attacks.

As I've said on several occasions, the Donald Trump slogan of making "America great again" has done nothing but make America "grate" again.

Dave Dubya said...

Too bad she didn't say this two years ago. Hillary writes this is the Atlantic.

"Over many years, our defenses were worn down by a small group of right-wing billionaires—people like the Mercer family and Charles and David Koch—who spent a lot of time and money building an alternative reality where science is denied, lies masquerade as truth, and paranoia flourishes. By undermining the common factual framework that allows a free people to deliberate together and make the important decisions of self-governance, they opened the way for the infection of Russian propaganda and Trumpian lies to take hold. They've used their money and influence to capture our political system, impose a right-wing agenda, and disenfranchise millions of Americans.

There is a tendency, when talking about these things, to wring our hands about “both sides.” But the truth is that this is not a symmetrical problem. We should be clear about this: The increasing radicalism and irresponsibility of the Republican Party, including decades of demeaning government, demonizing Democrats, and debasing norms, is what gave us Donald Trump.Whether it was abusing the filibuster and stealing a Supreme Court seat, gerrymandering congressional districts to disenfranchise African Americans, or muzzling government climate scientists, Republicans were undermining American democracy long before Trump made it to the Oval Office.

Now we must do all we can to save our democracy and heal our body politic."

Her "outing" in the article piece you cited is too little, and way too late. She was never the solution, just as Donald Trump most assuredly hasn't been.

Democracy...our whole way of life, is now between a rock and a hard place. And to think the descent all started with the election of Ronald Reagan. The train keeps speeding faster and faster toward the abyss...and we're all on it.

An aside...the woman who made the allegation of Kavanaugh's attack and attempt of rape has come forward. Any respectable Republican would now deny voting him onto the highest court of the land, but of course we know there are none.

We've now descended into a banana republic-like nation where mobsters are elected president, and judges are likely rapists.

For your information, I never knowingly have commented on her blog, and nor have I cared to comment on her blog. I followed her to her blog, once, and saw you've placed several comments. I don't recall seeing comments by Dave Dubya, nor did I see any comments by T. Paine.

Once again, you're either mistaken or you're intentionally lying. I suspect the latter.

Nonetheless, you've made your decision. So have I.

Majormajor,

Relax. Nobody here is going to hurt you. We are not thugs. We don't carry tiki torches, Glocks, and AR-15s in public. You're just being trolled. Imagine that.

Although one certain president bragged he could shoot someone and not lose support. Hmm. Sounds like a real thug to me.

Liberals are not like him, thankfully.

I agree liberals aren't but leftist, they are.

Dave are you calling JG"S bluff?

You think a Troll's skin would be a little thicker after years of trolling. Who knew? I guess each Troll is unique. Delicate, almost. Like a snowflake.

Dave, just a footnote.

JG has asked me questions about my name and has show an interest in my rear end. In order to satisfy both his "curiosities" I've offered to meet JG face to face, man to man to discuss. I've offer to go to him if he provides me his name and address to discuss his questions. He has refused both offers. Remember this the next time he claims I don't answer HIS questions. He is lying.

It is not I who is delicate, it is JG. I'm willing to meet him face, not him. He is the coward. It is JG who has admitted he only posts on blogs to stir up trouble, like a coward he hides and threatens. So who is the Troll when JG admits to what he has?

I offer JG this for his consideration. I have family in your area who work in US Intelligence. It wouldn't be a stretch for them to give me the info that I have asked of you.

Cheers ;)

Majormajor,

Yes, JG has been nothing but trouble for a long time. Sometimes I wonder who's been chasing whom's ass at this point.

I have to admit you score bigly for nailing his ass this time.

He should be deeply flattered by your threat to wield the dark power of the "Deep State" in his direction. He would be sharing the same honor as your leader. They would be fellow victims of the dirty politics of US Intelligence! Praise Putin! How's that for ironic?

Then it would be JG's turn to whine, "Not fair! Big Hoax! Rigged!"

"So who is the Troll when JG admits to what he has?"

Depends. As I see it, in a roomful of trolls, most won't admit to it. I dare say, some of us may dabble in what may constitute a style of trolling. In our own particular ways.

Except for you, of course, since you won't admit to it.

That means you WIN!

It's no wonder "Strongly deny it" is the new motto of the Party of Trump.

Works every time, amirite?

Please note Dave, the posts from JG threatening me before you attempt to paint me with his dirty paint brush.

Cheers ;)

p.s. Do you now believe in the "Deep State"?
