I Wish...


I hate terrorism and condemn Hamas. I also hate fascism and condemn the Netanyahu regime.

I wish there were no Hitlers, Putins, Kims, Ayatollahs, Mohammed bin Salmans, Dick Cheneys, or Trumps.

I wish there was no such thing as radical Christian, Jewish, Hindu, or Muslim fundamentalism and nationalism.

I wish there were no such terror organizations like Hamas, al-Qaeda, the Taliban, and ISIS. I wish there were no such thing as Proud Boys, Oath Keepers, the KKK, and other American neo-Nazi groups. But they are emboldened by the party of Trump, as we witness open insurrection against our democracy, and Blacks, American Jews and Mexican Americans gunned down.

I wish it were true that Palestinians are not being forced from their homes, and there were no illegal Israeli settlements. I wish it were true that Palestinian citizens who have the right to vote are free from discriminatory policies and actions.

The fact is not all Palestinians ARE Israeli citizens. 

I wish people would try to understand why Jimmy Carter sees apartheid policies in Israel.

I wish there was no systemic racism in the US. I wish we didn't have the party of Trump that sees CRT and "anti-white racism" as the real threat, instead of poverty and racism against minorities.

I also wish it were true that African Americans, who have the right to vote, are never subjected to "driving while Black" police stops and harassment.

I wish having "equal rights" means equal treatment and equal justice under law.

I wish it were true that Native Americans were not slaughtered and forced onto reservations only to see their homelands stolen and children taken from them and forced into white indoctrination schools.

By today's standards Sitting Bull and Crazy Horse were the "terrorists" of their time, weren't they?

I wish I knew how to tell Native Americans why Israeli Jews have the right to evict others to reclaim ancestral lands but they do not.

I wish the human race would stop blaming victims instead of the authoritarian rulers who abuse their power.

I wish the human species would evolve beyond authoritarianism into expanding and into developing education, tolerance, understanding, consciousness and conscience instead of regressing into ignorance, fear and bigotry.

I wish I had more answers than wishes...

My read of what you wrote is that systemic racism is what gives legitimacy to racism against white people, since you wish for "no systemic racism" (predominantly minorities) and also claim one of the "real threats" is "racism against minorities".
It might not be as prevalent (or as publicized), but I've personally witnessed (alleged) racism against an old white guy.
I looked up the basic antidiscrimination rules. They don't say you can't discriminate against black people, or brown - they say you aren't to discriminate based on race.

There are two different definitions of racism - one is the systemic racism that targets minorities and the other is personal and could be against any race. Do I need a different word? Is that the problem?

And the goal of non-discrimination should include all - like this:

I would love to assume that "systemic" is implied. I understand why the last American prophet George Carlin finally explained, "I'm not invested in the outcome".

So what does he do? He blames BIDEN, of course. I welcome his reasoning and evidence that supports that opinion if he just tells us who to address. I'm no longer allowing more than ONE anonymous comment to reduce any misattributions of remarks.

He was quick to call Hamas "subhuman animals", as the Israeli Defense Minister did. It's unfortunate that they have embraced a term Hitler used against Jews, though.

Hamas are all-too-human. American racists are also all-too-human. Hate is a virus of the soul than infects too many humans, but I must allow that feeling for terrorists and other sociopath murderers. I allow for hating Nazis and neo-Nazis as well. They are beyond redemption and a threat to democracy, peace and human life. But they are all-too-human in their spiritual and moral darkness.

I cannot hate people just for voting for Trump, though. I have friends and family among them. Not all of them are beyond redemption. Some have awakened from the cult indoctrination. I welcome Anonymous to consider the same possibility, but would not expect it. When someone allows Trump to define reality for them, it's impossible to see anything clearly.

I agree it is very important to teach history. Too many people know so little about the Holocaust, WWII, and the effects it had on the UN and the creation of Israel.

A bit about Biden:

I share your outrage for the evils committed by Hamas. I just got word from a friend of mine in Israel that he and his family are safe, but are shaken and wake up at night in fear. They were terrorized.

I know it can be difficult for some people to accept the fact that human rights abuses have been committed by Israelis against Palestinians. Do you understand more innocent Palestinians have been killed than Israelis over the years? Many times more, in fact.

Maybe you believe ALL of them are terrorists? Even the children? They are being killed as I type these words. But I blame Hamas, not them. What the hell did they think would happen after that raid? As the meme said, "If your religion makes you hate someone, you need a new religion".

The cycle of hate, violence and retribution has been constant since 1948.

But I agree this latest Hamas attack has been the most vile of this long violent history.
