Billboard Mentality

The billboard rented in Texas by a guy named Kyle reminds us of the level of emotional drama found in the break-up of a long term romance. After all, the man was passionate enough to pay money to get his urgent message out.

“ABC News: I grew up with you. We are through. The Russians didn’t elect Donald Trump. I did.”

(Sorry, Kyle. You didn’t elect Trump. Even the majority of voters didn’t decide. The electoral college did. And sorry, Kyle. ABC News didn’t say Russians elected Trump, even though you believe the “alternative fact” that they did.)

We appreciate Kyle’s eloquent elaboration in his note  to HuffPost. It’s always a treat to hear a Trumpist explaining his loyalty to Trump. As expected, resentments, baseless accusations, falsehoods and Republican talking points (alright, I’m being redundant.) constitute a YOOOOGE portion of his beliefs.

This is what Kyle had to say, including my commentary:

“ABC News was the only channel I watched as a child growing up in Texas but I think they have lost touch with America and forgotten the working man. (He means "Republican America, aka "real America". Hmm. I wonder who really forgot the working man? Not the guy who opposes minimum wage, opposes unions, and opposes worker safety regulations? Not the guy who wants tax cuts for the rich while de-regulating Wall Street? Not that guy, eh? )

They don’t represent our voice anymore. (So this guy thinks the news media was supposed to represent his voice, loaded with the misinformation, lies and memes of far Right positions? Wherever shall he go for his alternative facts?)

Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign was funded by the Clinton Foundation in close coordination with the media, (No, and no. Sounds like someone isn’t listening to any news other than just FOX. You know, because FOX “represents our voices”, meaning the Republican Party.)

..and now we’re seeing them try to fix what they couldn’t fix during the election. They are doing everything they can, night after night, to create narratives and sway people’s direction to impeach Donald Trump. (Darn ABC for reporting those darn non-alternative-facts again. Trump tried to shut down the investigation that began with Trump loyalists getting caught telling lies about contacts with Russians. And then Trump contradicted intelligence agencies who reported Putin actively attempted to aid Trump. I wonder why? “Alternative facts” from FOX and Trump are all he needs.)

Our democracy is at stake when a major political party and the media are in bed together.(And this brilliant doofus isn’t talking about FOX(R), which would make his point quite nicely. What kind of democracy is he talking about? Not the one where the candidate with the most votes wins, obviously. )

I’m not asking anyone to boycott the Democratic Party. (He gets a point here, for not regurgitating the fictitious “Democrat Party. Well done, Kyle!)

I’m not in the brainwashing business, but the liberal media is.” (Right. Except that the term “liberal media” is a far right/Republican/ Trump brainwashing meme intended to get the cult to believe only them. But don’t expect to learn this from the corporatist ratings whores at ABC.)

“This was not an easy decision. For 35 years I have watched how their agenda has changed. (What agenda was that , Kyle? Representing your voice, or reporting the news? Not an easy decision? You bought into the Right's propaganda and agenda long ago, Kyle.)

This didn’t just start with Donald Trump, I watched them systematically destroy George Bush and hand us Barack Obama on a silver platter.” (Kyle seems blissfully ignorant of Bush's bloody and unpopular war based on lies, that ultimately spawned ISIS. This is obviously entirely the fault of the "liberal media". Kyle also seems blissfully unaware of the financial collapse under Ol' Honest George.  Kyle’s been blaming the “liberal media” for a long time, showing us how much he really is a true believer in the C.R.A.P. (Cult of Right-wing Authoritarian Personalities).

“I grew up in America where we were not afraid to say who we are and what we stand for, as witnessed by my billboard,” (That’s right. Especially now in Trump America. Kyle is not afraid to say who he is and what he stands for. He is a low-information, far Right, true believer of C.R.A.P., and he's an ideologue who stands for the most malevolent liar, greatest narcissist, and least informed authoritarian ever to sit in the Oval Office.)

“I’m considering starting a GoFundMe campaign to raise money to buy up vacant billboards for various Trump supporters who otherwise couldn’t afford it to make their voices known,” he told HuffPost by email. (“Trump supporters who otherwise couldn’t afford it” will be even less able to afford it soon enough. They will be the ones losing out on health care and public services so the rich can get tax cuts. But that's OK. You're never too poor to buy the C.R.A.P.)

So apart from these minor details, Kyle has it all figured out.

Looks like Kyle must be as clueless as your resident trolls. The ignorance of the right is truly astounding. Guess it never occurred to him that "ABC News" doesn't propose, draft and sign legislation, or actually write the legislation for our turncoat elected legislators, who pass along this tedious task to Wall Street, the extraction industry, Big Pharma, the health insurance companies, and the factory farm lobbyists. Of course, Kyle's right about one thing, ABC News never reports these travesties.

Kyle's a dunce -- just like most other middle-of-the-country inhabitants. Clueless...to a fault.

On a more humorous note, the right and alt-right obviously approve of socialism when it's administered and conducted by the Pentagon. Truly, one man's so-called capitalism is another man's boondoggle. LOL

JG,
Like a an obedient and loyal cultist, Kyle is serving his Cult. The C.R.A.P. must demonize journalism and any other source of information that counters their dogma. It is the mission of their lowly foot soldiers to follow. Notice they are in lock-step unity behind their cult leaders in attacking a Free Press as the enemy of the people. Liberals, as well as the free press, are seen as Marxist enemies of America to this deranged cult of hate.

Make no mistake. The revolution is over. In fact it was a coup by the far Right. The democratic republic is finished. They won. The current batch of authoritarian thugs in office will be gone, but the C.R.A.P. in service to their almighty god "Greed" will remain in power.

Only an awakened, united, and massively active public can begin to reverse this coup. But we know the cult will always have its army of authoritarian followers; attacking liberals and journalism while rejecting science. They are true believing cult drones.

A quarter of any human population consists of authoritarian personalities. Thus the long struggle between human evolution and human self-extinction.

The question becomes not when, but if, we get past this New Dark Age.

Hey Dave,

We are going in the wrong direction as we may be the first #Resistance movement in political history that specializes in resistance to winning elections. amirite?

Are you against Kyle voicing his first amendment right to Free Speech? Sure sounds like that billboard has you foaming at the mouth with progressive hatrid!

Don't worry, we will win the next special election.

Chuck "Michael Stivic" Morre: "Are you against Kyle voicing his first amendment right to Free Speech?"

No, Chuck, not at all. I'm sure Dave feels the same as I do -- we're both opposed to stupidity...and hate speech. There's way too much of both coming from the right and alt-right during Trump's reign. I believe Dave refers to it as C.R.A.P.

Wouldn't you agree?

Dave,

What motivates trump voters is watching you democrats show your true colors of hate!

You despise anyone that has a better plan, you stifle growth and put people out of work, you keep people in perpetual poverty for a vote in the city nothing more, but the main thing is you divide people by race, gender, and sexual orientation.

America doesn't want gender neutral bathrooms, all electric cars and people (the majority in the middle class) paying for other peoples health care. It goes against everything we have ever been, everything we will ever be.

The socialist utopia you dream about does not exist. You cannot force people to pay for other peoples entitlements without consequences.

The problem now is too many people think the middle class should pay for the poor's lifestyle. We are not and never have been an entitlement society. we don't want 60 percent tax rates.

I'm enjoying watching liberal heads explode with the results of GA-6 especially when the DNC/MSM Siamese twins desperately hyped up Jon Ossoff who received $30 million and forgot to live in the district!

Thanks for the Comedy!

Arch,
That's more like it!

Quoting someone verbatim is hardly anti-free speech, now is it? In fact you seen quite unable to use your free speech to debate any of my commentary. It's not surprising you need to spew con-servative ideology of resentment and blame instead.

In fact, to the Right, just as calling out racism is the new racism, calling out hate and ignorance is the new "progressive hatrid".

"A better plan"? You mean the utter failure of the tax cut, trickle down, debacle demonstrated in Republican Kansas?

http://www.businessinsider.com/kansas-experiment-with-tax-cutting-failed-on-its-own-terms-2017-6

Or is the highly unpopular Trumpcare, that will certainly kill Americans while cutting taxes for the rich, a "better plan"?

You are free to use your free speech and explain that for us.

Something tells me you won't. But you will tell us who to resent, blame, and accuse, won't you?

Thanks for the tragedy.

While Arch ponders about his "better plan", I'll share this quote for a preview:

Former North Carolina Democratic congressman Brad Miller said, “I asked the Tea Party delegation that visited me about the ACA what they would do about the uninsured who come to the emergency room with life-threatening illnesses or injuries. They said let them die.”

Chuck "ArchieBunkerNYC" Morre: "What motivates trump voters is watching you democrats show your true colors of hate!"

I've continually had to remind you that the left is on the side of inclusiveness and non-divisiveness. We're accepting of all who embrace and work toward these ideals. We're not accepting of those, like yourself, who spew hate and honor racism in the name of free speech. Stirring hate, and beholding racism as an ideal, will never be honored as free speech, just as yelling "fire!" in a crowded theater is not protected free speech. If you believe otherwise, and continue to project your own racist and hateful ways upon others for the simple reason that others are non-accepting of your despicable venom, than you're fucked up. I'm sorry, but there's no delicate way to portray your sickness.

By the way, neither Dave or I claim any allegiance to, or membership in, the Democratic Party, so you must be speaking of your "son-in-law", Micheal Stivic.

"You despise anyone that has a better plan..."

Not true. We haven't seen a "better plan" -- certainly not from the conservatives. As Dave previously pointed out, the Republican "plan" is more tax cuts for the wealthy -- which is who, in case you haven't noticed, they're totally beholden to.

What's interesting is that the GOP doesn't give a damn about you, which has been proven time and time again, yet you let yourself get snookered and bamboozled. I can only attribute this to either ignorance or stupidity. I used to think it was purely ignorance because I assumed you, and people like you, just didn't have access to information. But now, with readily available information from all around the world, I've concluded it's just plain and serious stupidity.

"...you keep people in perpetual poverty for a vote in the city nothing more..."

Not true. "Perpetual poverty" is the collateral damage created by "capitalism" as it's practiced today. The monopolistic and oligarchical system of "capitalism", which dominates our economic system, creates and fosters poverty which, by the way, is spreading like a cancer throughout the middle class.

"...but the main thing is you divide people by race, gender, and sexual orientation."

As I've told you so many times in the past, you're the pot calling the kettle black. (Refer above to my statement about inclusiveness.)

"America doesn't want gender neutral bathrooms, all electric cars and people (the majority in the middle class) paying for other peoples health care."

As far as bathrooms, you're making a mountain out of a molehill. Get over it. All electric cars? No problem, don't buy one. Personally, however, if they can be designed and manufactured to reduce pollution and lower greenhouse emissions, why not? Health insurance? How the hell does any type of insurance work to lower costs without a large enough pool of users contributing to it? It doesn't. Period. That's why the only viable answer is single-payer. Anything else will be a flop. You know it, and I know it. If you don't know it, you haven't a clue how insurance works. (Which doesn't surprise me.)

"It goes against everything we have ever been, everything we will ever be."

Actually, and you know it and I know it, Medicare has been around since the mid-1960s. It works great and has a lower per beneficiary cost than any privately offered program.

As far as, "everything we will ever be", what the fuck are you talking about? This statement makes no sense at all. (Again, no surprise.)

JG,
You're right.

And we know Arch will not read or comprehend anything we say. He only pays attention to the Republican con-servative propaganda that forms his cult beliefs.

The sooner all sane Americans understand they are a cult, the better off we all will be.
