Global Village Idiots Or "How To Think Like A Con-servative"

For years con-servatives have made quite a wild, scattered and crazy case for denying and muddying the climate change issue.

For the longest time they declared climate change was “not happening” and “not settled science”, and my favorite, “just a theory”.

I suppose the theory of gravity is also debatable. Unlike the sun, I have never seen gravity. I will therefore debate its existence. It cannot be settled science if I can't see it. That just makes common sense to me.

When cornered by facts supporting actual climate change, they then insisted “climate change is always happening”. Or not, because we have winter storms and it snows in Antarctica.

They like to suggest global warming is caused by sunspots, moonbeams, "liberal thermometers", all sorts of wacked out debris of detached discourse.

Although the same silly science tells me CO2 is heavier than air. And it doesn't come from the sun, it turns out.

Here is what else I know. Thanks to peer reviewed science.

Global sea level rose about 8 inches in the last century. The rate in the last two decades is nearly double that of the last century.  CO2 levels have gone up drastically. Average temperatures have risen.

Coral reefs are bleaching. Permafrost is thawing (releasing methane and more greenhouse gasses).  Plant species are migrating north. Glaciers have disappeared and shrunk. Arctic Sea ice is vanishing, state-sized ice flows are separating from Antarctica,...you know, observable reality.

There is a certain political party, and certain corporate interests, that don't want us to know these facts. In fact, their political mission is to deny, demean, distract, deflect and deceive on the issue of climate change.

Could this all be in the name of political power, and profit over people, profit over planet and profit Uber Alles?

Could it have something to do with their not wanting to slow the upward distribution of wealth to the already wealthiest persons and entities on the planet? Can't be having that. Not in America, anyway.

The fossil-fueled, corporate-funded denial industry has duped so many Americans that we are the leading nation in the world in climate change denial. USA! USA! We're number One!

We are the global village idiots who pulled out of the Paris Accords. It's almost like we are puppets of Putin's puppet.

Putin or not, we are under the corrupt rule of the Cult of the Right-wing Authoritarian Personalities. (C.R.A.P.) Bad things happen when they run the show. Last time they were in charge they collapsed the economy and started a war that spawned ISIS.

But, hey. “Priorities”. “Values”.

These are the lessons I have learned in studying “How To Think Like A Con-servative”.

First we demean “loonie liberals”, accuse them of hating America and having no values. Then we blame them for anything we don’t like, and accuse them of causing everything bad.

Then we undermine climate science by framing researchers as a Global Conspiracy of Evil Climate Scientists. (Unlike oil corporations, they will LIE just to get more money! Grrr. That makes me very angry.)

Then we crank up the hate and demonize journalism as the enemy of the people, just to level the playing field. A Republican grabbing a reporter named Jacobs by the neck and throwing him to the ground was something to be cheered and joked about.

Just a few samples of far Right civility and basic human decency:

Rush called Jacobs “a pajama boy journalist” who was “insolent … disrespectful … whiny and moany.”

CNN correspondent Kyung Lah went to a polling place to interview voters and reported that nearly everyone she talked with said they weren’t changing their vote:

She tweeted: MT GOP voter, upon learning we're from @CNN: "You're lucky someone doesn't pop one of you."

And:

"That audio made me cheer." A woman told CNN as she smiled and walked in to vote for Gianforte.

Fox contributor: Rachel Campos-Duffy: This guy was not a reporter looking for a fair story. He was obviously doing a take down on him. And this guy got his back up -- he got a little bit of Montana Justice.

Rob O'Neill: I am from Montana. The guy he is running against is all about the environment and all of this stuff all of a sudden. What happened there in Montana, apparently the snowflake reporter invaded Gianforte's safe space. We have a saying up there, "you mess around, you mess around, you might not be around...granted I'm not condoning the body slam. I think it's kind of funny based on my history. “

Dana Loesch: First off, you can believe two things simultaneously. That Gianforte behaved wrongly. You can believe that, But you can also, Tucker, believe that the media in some respects is culpable. The violent progressive left is in some respects, culpable... . I had so many people who called in to my radio program today, Tucker, who said you know what? Maybe the media deserves it.

The Con-servative Sinclair Broadcasting Montana NBC Affiliate reportedly refused to cover the Gianforte story.

A Texas Tribune reporter snapped a photo of Republican Governor Abbott showing off his target sheet on Friday, after which the governor “jokingly” pointed to the bullet holes and said, “I’m gonna carry this around in case I see any reporters,” according to reporter Patrick Svitek.

Are we clear where we stand here, my fellow Real Americans?

We’re on to a great formula for success here! All we have to do is believe we are right.

The secret to how to think like a con-servative is this:

Believe the C.R.A.P.

Believe Republicans and Breitbart, and believe FOX and Limbaugh. Believe anything and anyone that tells us to hate and blame liberals, to distrust and resent minorities, to demonize journalism, public education, and politically incorrect science. It's so simple. Just believe; no need to think.

Now let's deregulate polluters, and let Wall Street do as it pleases. Let’s gut public education. Corporate schools and FOX will make sure is our children learning.

Let’s cut taxes for the rich and let their brats inherit billions tax free. (Here’s looking at you Ivanka, Eric and Don Jr. We know you deserve every dime.)

It’s high time to slash corporate tax rates, eliminate minimum wages, destroy unions, privatize infrastructure, privatize prisons, privatize national parks, privatize Social Security, cut Medicare and food stamps for the poor, let them drink lead...

And before you know it, America will be great again.

Yee haw!

James T. Hodgkinson was a volunteer for Bernie Sanders, he was a Occupy protester, he wanted higher taxes on the rich, he voted democrat in the last three national elections,
he recently declared in a Facebook post that, “It’s Time to Destroy Trump & Co”, he said he was part of a “99%” team drawing attention to the amount of money and political power the top 1 percent of Americans acquired.

In other words, he was the perfect poster boy for liberal socialist Democrats.

Major,
Thank you for bringing this up.

So you're saying there was one act of physical violence with no fatalities. (You've yet to disavow the Republican thug's assault on a journalist.)

By comparison, we have the body count of 53 dead Americans from Right Wing nuts, greater than Jihadists from 2001 to 2016.

https://www.newamerica.org/in-depth/terrorism-in-america/what-threat-united-states-today/

Between 2001 and 2016 there were more Americans killed in the US by Right Wing extremists than from Jihadists. The Orlando mass shooting raised the count to 95 to 53.

Looks like the "perfect poster boys" of con-servatism are a terror threat second only to Jihadists.

Are you proud of your Death Cult?

"The Orlando mass shooting raised the count to 95 to 53."

"In a call to 9-1-1 during the shooting, Mateen identified himself as "Mujahideen", "Islamic Soldier", and "Soldier of God";[2][3] and pledged his allegiance multiple times to the militant jihadist group Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).[4] He said the shooting was "triggered" by an airstrike in Iraq that killed Abu Wahib, an ISIL commander, six weeks before.[5]" Wikipedia

You are claiming the Orlando killer was right wing? Sure, and 93 million Americans are killed each day by guns. Gov McAuliffe.

I guess your poster boy took Obama at this word and brought a gun to knife fight.

Liberals are violent haters of anyone not as loony as they are..Just like New America's co-founder Ted Halstead.

Dave Dubya said...

Major,

You are claiming the Orlando killer was right wing?

No, but apparently you are stupid, or dishonest, enough to suggest that.

You would make a gullible Jihadist with that kind of "thinking".

I have to wonder when you will snap, and go out shooting and screaming "Get out of my country!", or set out seeking to shoot liberals. It would fit the pattern of your hateful Death Cult. That has happened too often. Let's hope your shooting skills are as off the mark as your reading comprehension.

The far Right terror threat is second only to Jihadists. Keep up the hate and ignorance, it is your path to "glory".

Mr. Paine was correct, you remove my posts when you can't debate the issue.

Dave Dubya said...

Major,

You are a liar. I delete unsolicited copy and paste dumping of irrelevant garbage. You've proven to disregard or willfully misinterpret my words. You refuse to engage in reason and accept the fact there is an overwhelming preponderance of far Right violence.

This fact is not debatable. The body count is real.

Mr. Paine can't accept facts and reason either. He even blames liberals for Trump.. Your neo-fascist cult is killing innocent Americans, democracy, equality, and soon enough freedom itself.

I noted: “First we demean “loonie liberals”, accuse them of hating America and having no values. Then we blame them for anything we don’t like, and accuse them of causing everything bad.”

You have demonstrated the truth of my words:

Liberals are violent haters of anyone not as loony as they are

Herr Goebbels said the same of Jews as his thugs were killing them. You are the same ilk, as the victims of far Right violence and your hateful ideology are the least of your concerns.

You have no values, no decency, no credibility and no shame. Just hate, blame, and willful ignorance in loyalty to far Right extremism.

Feel free to debate these points. You have only proven me correct so far.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Indiana State Police say shots were fired at a truck carrying a “Make America Great Again” flag and an American flag on eastbound I-465 Tuesday.

Officers believe the shots were fired from a newer white 4-door Chevrolet Malibu with a Louisiana plate near Emerson Avenue around 4 p.m.

The victim and a witness informed police that the Malibu pulled up next to the pickup truck, a passenger held a handgun out of the window and then a male fired several shots.

Police say no one was in injured in the incident.

More love from the left...delete this cause it's an other example of the extreme violent liberal left that you approve of. How brave, how manly of you Doris.

You are a pathological liar who supports the actions of this violent by deleting the posts showing how violent your cult is.

Dave Dubya said...

Major,

Your Death Cult has a body count of 53 between 2001 and 2016.

You are desperately trying to equate liberals with that behavior. The "score" is 53-0.

"Police say no one was in injured in the incident".

Why do you support your death cult? You have no morals.

Surely not. What is it Chuck?...am I getting uncomfortably close to the truth about you?

Chill, man! It's only going to get worse! LOL

By the way, have you been listening to your dumb-ass president recently? I swear, he sounds more stupid with each additional day he's in office. I bet you don't think so, though. You know what that means.

Jefferson's Guardian said...

"Resist, defy, and smash creeping fascism. The country you save may be your own."

Chuck, I was thinking about getting this put onto a t-shirt, and buying a few dozen. Do you want one? What size do you wear?

Or how 'bout this one? "Dump on Trump", with a picture of a jackal taking a big dump on the faux severed head of your cult leader. (Kathy Griffin put it up on eBay, so I bought it.) Underneath, I thought the caption, "Adding Insult to Injury", would lend a finishing touch. Or do you think that would be too over the top?

Chuck may be busy learning how to be a wedding planner so he can get a job in the Trump administration.

Jefferson's Guardian said...

Chuck's exalting in the idea that the Virginia gunman was supposedly a left-leaning crazy man. Reaching out to speak his language, poor Chuck clearly needs a lesson in Matthew 7:3.

Reading briefly about James Hodgkinson's personal life, it seems he had very similar attributes to your resident troll: loner, antisocial, rust-belt isolationist, etc. The main difference is Hodgkinson hated Trump, whereas Chuck's in love with him.

If they didn't blow Hodgkinson away -- which it strikes me as odd that they always do this with these crazed lone gunmen -- they'd probably be homies.

Turning to a different subject, notice how the west London high-rise building known as Grenfell Tower that was entirely engulfed in flames this past Wednesday didn't come tumbling down. It burned and burned and burned, and never fell into its own footprint. Structurally it's still intact.

As a matter of fact, only three times in history have steel-framed high-rise buildings fallen due to fires. All three occurred in September of 2001 in New York City. Pretty coincidental, wouldn't you say? I guess New York has shitty building codes. ;-)

Jefferson's Guardian said...

Dave Dubya: "Chuck may be busy learning how to be a wedding planner so he can get a job in the Trump administration."

He's too busy icing his Sicilian Cassata Cannoli Cake to pay attention to us? ;-) I'm hurt.

There are plenty of positions still open in the administration. Obviously nobody wants to work for him. (That, or nobody inside can figure out the hiring process.) No experience is necessary, from what I can tell, and it shows.

On a more humorous note, "Donald Trump is reportedly becoming 'increasingly angry' and yelling at TV sets in the White House as his frustration grows at the investigation into alleged Russian meddling in the presidential election."

and...

"According to Associated Press, he believes he is the victim of a conspiracy aimed at discrediting his presidency and ultimately ending his tenure of the White House."

Gee, I guess that makes him a conspiracy theorist. :-O He better watch out -- the next thing you know he'll wake up in bed with a severed horse head next to him. He ought to know the Russian mob doesn't take kindly to blabbermouths. LOL

Dave Dubya said...

JG,
Don't forget Trump has his own 9-11 conspiracy about thousands of celebrating Muslims in New Jersey. I haven't seen any architects and engineers corroborate this so far.

ArchieBunkerNYC said...

lol the Ministry of Progressive Truth is deleting opposing viewpoints.

lol the Russian Collusion story being Fake news and the unhinged left following it like the fools they are.

Maybe there is collusion between Bernie Sanders and James Hodgkinson, the Alexandria shooter? Maybe the resident Conspiracy Whackjob, JG can look into it.

Dave Dubya said...

Arch,

We don't need to see your "viewpoint". It is based on lies and hate, exactly the same as Trump's, and his authoritarian regime of billionaires agenda of tax cuts for the rich, food stamp cuts for the poor, more pollution, etc.

Your viewpoint is ignorance and hate wrapped in arrogance.

Got it.

Maybe there is collusion between Bernie Sanders and James Hodgkinson

You can't get more wackjob hate than this.

And you wonder why your C.R.A.P. is flushed?

There, you've had your attention seeking behavior rewarded. Any more C.R.A.P. will be flushed.

Here's the amazingly crazy part about this, Dave. Trump's core cultists are so racist, so xenophobic, so Islamophobic, so anti-feminist, and so homophobic, that they'll pay homage to a regime that provides mammoth tax cuts for the wealthy and cuts programs for the most needy, while providing a mere pittance to them in tax relief -- when in most cases they're the ones who will be hurt the most through the budget slashing.

The stupid bastards will save an extra few cents on each paycheck -- which they won't even notice. The few who do, will blow it on lottery tickets and scratch-offs since they have absolutely no understanding of probability theory. In a nutshell, they'll sacrifice the lives and health of their children, and their children's children, in order to buy an easy ticket to an improbable dream to riches. They haven't figured out that lotteries are taxes on the stupid. It's somewhat amusing, in a melancholy way.

They're a sorry lot, whom I'm ashamed to recognize as Americans. With social media and instantaneous communication, the world is laughing at us and considers us all hillbillies.

We've truly become an idiocracy.

Dave how come you didn't mention that James Hansen thinks the Paris Agreement is a f*cking joke?

lol on how you can't see gravity. I guess objects fall at random rates.

Dave Dubya said...

Arch,
That point was discussed in the previous thread. No wonder you are so ignorant. You don't read. And you wonder why your C.R.A.P. and ignorance gets deleted?

Thank you for proving JG's point about your cult.

Jefferson's Guardian said...

ArchieBunkerNYC: "...on how you can't see gravity. I guess objects fall at random rates."

It seems you finally understand the concept of "free fall", where the only force acting upon an object is gravity. Now, put that understanding into context with the free fall of WTC7 into its own footprint.

By the way, and I'm repeating what I wrote above, gravity can't be seen -- only the objects that gravity exerts a force upon.

...and you said you "took a couple of physics classes in college". ;-)
