Obama 1- Trump 0

Obamacare remains law of the land. Don the Con is America's new biggest loser.

Not an insignificant victory from an out-of-power, foreign Muslim, wire-tapper of Trump Tower, and not to mention "founder of ISIS".

Time to cut taxes for the rich and cut benefits for the poor, de-regulate Wall Street banks to allow more fleecing of the public, and gut environmental regulations to let polluters pollute, because...freedom, ya know. There are some travesties where all Republicans find agreement.

As inadequate and incomplete as the ACA Act was -- essentially just another big giveaway to the oligopoly that dominates the health insurance field -- what TrumpCare offered was more inadequate and more incomplete. In other words, only those who could afford healthcare under the American Healthcare Act ("TrumpCare") would get healthcare under the American Healthcare Act.

The so-called free market has no business in healthcare insuring at all. Of all western industrialized nations, the United States has the lowest life-expectancy and is the only nation without some form of single-payer or universal health law. These two events are not mutually exclusive. They're intrinsically connected.

The Republicans and conservatives in Congress were hot-to-trot to dump the ACA Act for one reason -- and one reason only. Those earning $250K or more were taxed to provide the hospitalization side of the equation. Of course they jumped in to save the billions that their benefactors were obligated to pay. As usual, the Republicans and conservatives didn't give a damn about saving lives or providing for the commoners and less fortunate. Any indication of such was just eyewash and more bullshit from the right. TrumpCare was designed to be another elitist tax cut. No more, no less.

Trump was trumped! The irony is inescapable. So much for the "art of the negotiation".

Dave,

Gorsuch was approved for the Supreme Court. He even got more senate votes than Clarence Thomas.

I'm very concerned because, lets face the facts, Ruth Bader Ginsing is about to keel over any day. She should have stepped down while Obama was still President. Oh well, we all thought we would have Madame President. amirite?

It looks like Assad stepped over a Trump red line. I just wish Obama had the balls like Trump. Just Say'n.

Trump wiped out a lot of Putin supplied planes at that Syrian military airport. Not sure we could still call Trump a Putin puppet. amirite?

Jefferson's Guardian said...

Gee, Michael Stivic is so out of character again. He sounds more like his father-in-law.

In one respect ya' have to love "Dear Leader's" use of Twitter as a means to reach his deplorable subjects. It's so easy to throw his own words right back in his face. ;-)

It's not coincidental that your resident right-wing trolls (e.g., Majormajor, T. Paine, and other aliases) are silent about Trump's earlier stance -- the one where he was against attacking Syria before he was for it. (Well, in afterthought, their memories are probably as short as their intellects are low.) Just like Donald Trump, they've been had. The real power has exerted itself. Trump's been trumped -- again!

It would be outrageously funny if it weren't so morbidly terrifying. Chalk up another anti-Christian strike against humanity by so-called "Christians". The hubris and hypocrisy is undeniable.

Jefferson's Guardian said...

Oh, let's change the score: Obama 2 - Trump 0. ;-)

This scenario playing itself out to the end is bad for everybody. The war-hawks push it; the stupid and ignorant cheer it on.

Michael Stivic said...

Obama, John Kerry, and Susan Rice said they had removed chemical weapons from Syria without force. Sounds like that was fake news. amirite?

From a man who is for killing babies in the womb and by chemical weapons in Syria. Not surprised, since his religion is fanatical man made global warming or cooling or whatever de jour of the day.

No doubt Putin and Trump agreed to the Syrian bombing in advance will be spouted from the foaming mouth of the man with cognitive dissonance about WT7 being an inside job. amirite?

Dave Dubya said...

JG,

Poor Out-Of-Character Michael is so confused, he probably doesn't even know he's Jewish.

He certainly has no understanding of the term, "cognitive dissonance".

I wonder why our "not-racist" con-servatives didn't care for Syrian gas victims when the Black guy was president?

His concern for babies is limited to the unborn in the womb, of course, for he and Dear Leader don't give a damn about the Syrian babies and families seeking asylum. He never showed concern for the Iraqi babies killed by Bush's invasion, either. After all, those are all "terrorist babies", amirite?
=
Shalom, Michael. It's looking like Putin won't be the only Trump supporter with regrets. How does it feel knowing Obama and Obamacare are more popular than ever?

Dave Dubya said...

Arch,

While we pass on Michael's lies and failure to stay in character, we're impressed by your compassion for the Swedes. (We know your sympathies have always leaned towards the lighter pigmented people.)

We noted your lack of compassion for the thousands killed by self-identified Christian Bush's war for profit based on lies. War is the ultimate man-made terror. That vicious Christian terrorism has killed unknown thousands. Even babies. Then the Christian's war of aggression spawned ISIS. Exactly what Jesus would do, amirite?

Wonder why I call it a Christian's war of aggression? Bush himself called it a crusade, before smarter people told him how stupid he was to give Jihadists their recruitment slogan.

Say, Arch. Did Trump's missile attack send a tingle up your "religion of peace" Christian leg?

Be sure to Thank Trump for making Obama and Obamacare more popular than ever.

Fifty-nine Tomahawk cruise missiles were launched, at a minimal cost of around $90M, at an airfield that was back and up-and-running within a day. Superb military tactics, don't you agree? ;-)

The only winners here were Raytheon, the neocons, and the rest of the military-industrial-complex. Their swelling boners probably grew bigger than their stock prices on Friday.

The war drums are beating and the unsubstantiated accusations of a Syrian government atrocity are reminiscent of the immediate aftermath of 911 along with the lies about WMD in Iraq. The Republicans need a new shtick. They're playing yesterday's act and it's not convincing anyone** anymore.

**Disclaimer: Except morons, dickheads, imbeciles and cultists.

ArchieBunkerNYC said...

what was the total cost of the Putin's planes destroyed at the airport?

Planes that no longer will drop WMD (chemical gas) on people. Chemical gas that Barry the Bullshit artist said was no longer in Syria.

Do you believe it was an inside job where both Trump and Putin planned it Jeff?

Your conspiracy theories are pretty whacked out like WT7.

Lots of laughs libs that Trump is Putin's puppet. But keep saying it as more independents in 2018 won't vote for the Democratic clowns.

Dave Dubya said...

Arch,
Thank you for your righteous indignation and anger.

Still no concern for the Syrian refugees, but hey, they're just terrorists, amirite?

Dave Dubya said...

JG,
Ever notice how little the Right cares about the hundreds of thousands of innocents killed by conventional weapons? And how little they care about the refugees?

Dear Leader tweeted: "The President must get Congressional approval before attacking Syria-big mistake if he does not!"

But IOKIYAR after all. The "Foreign Black Guy" was the one who needed "Congressional(White Republican) approval".

Jefferson's Guardian said...

Dave Dubya: "Ever notice how little the Right cares about the hundreds of thousands of innocents killed by conventional weapons?"

Republicans, conservatives and other warmongers believe, during the waning seconds of life, the hundreds of thousands of innocents brutally attacked by conventional weapons were thankful their lives weren't ending due to sarin gas.

"And how little they care about the refugees?"

Republicans and conservatives believe the majority are terrorists, so disregard them all as being subhuman. They'll never admit to themselves, much less each other, that the war policies initiated and carried out by the George W. Bush administration were what created this massive exodus of people from their homes and from their lands, and are what fostered the creation of ISIS in the Middle East.

The real war criminals who should be brought to justice are George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, and Donald Rumsfeld.

"Dear Leader tweeted: 'The President must get Congressional approval before attacking Syria-big mistake if he does not!'"

Dear Leader operates from a different set of rules -- his own. Like the refugees seeking safety from the hellhole caused and created by the Bush administration, Republicans and conservatives also look upon the "black guy" as being subhuman. In their eyes, all subhumans must seek approval to do anything -- and only white men are allowed to act independently and beyond the confines of the Constitution.

ArchieBunkerNYC said...

Susan Rice has gotten four Pinocchios from the Washington Post for stating that the Obama administration removed all chemical weapons from Syria.

Barry, Kerry, and Rice thought they got away with that whopper of a lie.

The LIFs believed everything that came out of the Messiah's mouth. amirite?

Dave Dubya said...

Thanks, Arch.

And we're happy that Barry, Kerry, and Rice didn't send thousands of Americans to their deaths for their possible lies, like Bush did for his proven lies, amirite?

We still need proof the gas attack was ordered by Assad to prove Barry, Kerry, and Rice lied.

And a keen observer like you knows their is evidence rebels have been producing gas weapons of their own. The neocon Washington Post didn't mention this possibility, of course.

Too bad those refugees fleeing that horror find no compassion from conservatives, and have had the door slammed in their faces because bigots here think they are terrorists.

Jefferson's Guardian said...

Dave Dubya: "...we're happy that Barry, Kerry, and Rice didn't send thousands of Americans to their deaths for their possible lies..."

The key word here with bold font, is "possible", which your next statement points out beautifully. [See below.]

"We still need proof the gas attack was ordered by Assad to prove Barry, Kerry, and Rice lied."

Well said! There still isn't any conclusive, substantiated or verifiable evidence that the Syrian government was responsible for the sarin gassing. Without this proof, those "four Pinocchios" that The Washington Post pinned on Susan Rice are unjustifiable and -- as we saw with 9/11 and the run-up to the illegal and unprovoked attack of Iraq in 2003 -- another classic case of the corporate mainstream media's rush to judgement.

"The neocon Washington Post didn't mention this possibility, of course."

Of course not. Instead, the corporate mainstream media feed the frenzy. It knows what side of their bread is buttered -- the side aligned with the military-industrial-complex. There's big money in war, as The Washington Post well knows.

"Too bad those refugees fleeing that horror find no compassion from conservatives..."

Never. Conservatives not only are fearful of anybody that's not lily-white, but they provoke fear in others as a means to sub-humanize them and initiate wars that foster the killing and elimination of them.

ArchieBunkerNYC said...

But there is verifiable evidence that WT7 was brought down by "controlled demolition"?

Thanks for the laughs, Jeff!

Archie believes what the government says?

How unusual.

Does this mean climate change is real because the Pentagon says it is?

Time to twist the pretzel, Arch.

ArchieBunkerNYC said...

Dave believes what the government says?

How unusual.

Like being able to keep your health care plan and saving $2,500?

Like Syria had no chemical weapons because Barry the bullshit artist said so?

Time to twist the pretzel, Dave.

Dave Dubya said...

Arch,

Nice twist.

Does this mean climate change is real because the Pentagon says it is?

Better deflect again.

Just some facts.

I kept my health care plan.

After Putin persuaded Assad in 2013 to give up his chemical weapons, the U.S. Army destroyed 600 metric tons of Syria’s CW stockpile in just six weeks.

And of course:

"Too bad those refugees fleeing that horror find no compassion from conservatives..."

They're too busy twisting pretzels.

Jefferson's Guardian said...

ArchieBunkerNYC: "But there is verifiable evidence that WT7 was brought down by 'controlled demolition'?"

Of course! It's known as a basic understanding of physics, and more specifically Newton's laws of motion. It's very fundamental, really. It's very much like disputing whether gravity exists. You can't.

I realize you're a nonbeliever in science, so to debate this with you would be futile. It's impossible to debate intelligently with one who believes in fairy tales and physical impossibilities, and disputes anything scientific and based upon reason and logic.

Dave Dubya: "They're too busy twisting pretzels."

The government's certainly working overtime to substantiate the claim. Have you, by chance, seen the Mad Dog Mattis video where he claims, "It was very clear the Assad regime planned it, orchestrated it and executed it. Beyond that, we can’t say right now."?

Sounds familiar, doesn't it? Trust us. We know. But we can't tell you anything else. ;-)

I guess they forgot to tell us that Mad Dog used to be the chief pretzel twister at the Philly Pretzel Factory when he was in high school. Quite a lengthy resume...

JG,

Missing from our corporate media's flag-waving and cheering is the possibility of conventional bombs hitting a rebel ammo dump containing gas weapons. If mentioned at all, it is dismissed as "Russian propaganda". Never mind Putin, who probably now regrets supporting Trump, requests a UN investigation of the incident.

A few points from Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity:

https://consortiumnews.com/2017/04/11/trump-should-rethink-syria-escalation/

Trump Should Rethink Syria Escalation
April 11, 2017

Two dozen ex-U.S. intelligence officials urge President Trump to rethink his claims blaming the Syrian government for the chemical deaths in Idlib and to pull back from his dangerous escalation of tensions with Russia.

1 – We write to give you an unambiguous warning of the threat of armed hostilities with Russia – with the risk of escalation to nuclear war. The threat has grown after the cruise missile attack on Syria in retaliation for what you claimed was a “chemical weapons attack” on April 4 on Syrian civilians in southern Idlib Province.

2 – Our U.S. Army contacts in the area have told us this is not what happened. There was no Syrian “chemical weapons attack.” Instead, a Syrian aircraft bombed an al-Qaeda-in-Syria ammunition depot that turned out to be full of noxious chemicals and a strong wind blew the chemical-laden cloud over a nearby village where many consequently died.

3 – This is what the Russians and Syrians have been saying and – more important –what they appear to believe happened.

4 – Do we conclude that the White House has been giving our generals dictation; that they are mouthing what they have been told to say?

From one of the commenters from the linked article you provided, named "mike k":

"Now we are finding out the real cost of electing this capitalist idiot to the presidency. We have the whole sick government, media, supreme court, intel agencies, and military to thank for the mess we have put the entire world in now. Oh, and I forgot to mention the idiot segment of the US population, which is huge. Thanks guys for making America great – a great big idiot , that is."

The fourth point of the letter from the ex-intel officials has me wondering. Has the White House, indeed, given the military generals their script on this -- or is it the other way around? Or, if in fact the White House was making this call, who's giving marching orders to Trump? Wall Street? The CIA? -- collectively known as the "military-industrial-complex"

Oh, what a tangled web we weave...

Any way you look at this, it'll end badly for a overwhelming number of Americans.

So I'm also wondering, is the "Make America Great Again" meme being thrown out the window, and Trump is starting to get a glimpse of who's really running the show?...just as Obama did before him? And Bush?...and Clinton?...and the first Bush?...and Reagan, the first actor?

ArchieBunkerNYC said...

The joke is also on all the ignorant MINORITY of Americans who voted for Kim Jong Don. They will be the losers. The incompetent low-information Dear Leader wants military parades like the North Korean Trump/dictator. He and his cronies are under FBI investigation. Lock him up, amirite?

Obama, and Obamacare, have a higher approval than Dear Leader. No joke. How do you like them apples?

Arch, don't expect most Americans to be as gullible as you are.

ArchieBunkerNYC said...

"What joke? Nobody laughed. It was an open appeal to Russian hacking. Period."

Bullshit. But why should I be surprised when you and Jefferson think 9-11 was an inside job.

People like Louis Lerner and Susan Rice should go to jail for abusing their power under the police state of Barry Obama.

Barry had no balls, drawing meaningless red lines, and pretended he effected positive change. No chemical weapons in Syria said Barry and Susan. Thanks for the laughs you fucking clowns.

Thanks to Barry, Jimmy is no longer the worst President in US history.

Dave Dubya said...

Arch is desperately distracting again.

Note his use of the right’s designated distraction goblin of the moment. And a black woman too. Imagine that... They committed no crime or even a violation of ethics rules, yet he wants them imprisoned.

This is the place to start when someone wants an example of what fascism really is. They can witness it in action. Those chanting "Lock her up!" and "should go to jail", etc. reflect the open hate of soulless followers of an evil gnawing at the heart of America.

Their hate is the tool of fascism. Their lies are the voice of fascism. The absolute worst character of Republicans and con-servatives is revealed in their fealty to Dear Leader.

And once again we thank Arch for reminding us that his Dear Leader has helped make Obamacare more popular than ever, more popular than Dear Leader.

Jefferson's Guardian said...

Dave Dubya: "Arch is desperately distracting again."

That's par for the course with Chuck, and most Republicans I might add. He certainly must have a large stretched-out rectum, 'cause he sure is able to pull a lot of meaningless and unrelated nonsense out of his ass.

Susan Rice must be the flavor of the day on all the fanatical right-wing websites. I wonder what happened to Benghazi? ;-)

I agree with your assessment, Dave. "Arch" is the prototypical type drawn to fascist beliefs and hate-mongering. He's the poster boy for the alt-right.

Did you see what he wrote about me (under the label, "Majormajor") on Tom's latest post? Because I've stated more than once - not only here but on Tom's blog - that there's no substantiated and confirmed evidence that Assad was behind the chemical attack, our little fascist friend said I'm a "lover of Russia". LOL

One thing fascists can never be accused of is believing in due process and the rule of law. A methodology of gathering evidence to come to a scientific conclusion never occurs to them. Their brand of justice is to hang 'em high and ask questions later... well, no, not really. They actually never ask questions. That requires thinking, and thinking makes their heads hurt.

Today is Day 88 of the Trump presidency. Historically presidents have laid out great vision linked to monumental legislative achievements during the first 100 days -- particularly when they have congressional partisanship in their favor.

So far there's nothing. Nothing at all. Healthcare reform blew up in his face. There are no new jobs -- which, if I'm not mistaken, net job growth has gone down. There is no tax reform on the horizon. Instead, "the swamp" keeps expanding, militarization is on the march, and he's inching us ever so closer to nuclear confrontation while his diplomatic surrogates come across as the amateurs they are.

So much for his supposed skills in negotiation and "the art of the deal". ;-)

It's Day 88, with just 12 days to go.

As I've said on so many occasions in the past, this president will end up being "the closer".
