Why I’m "Considering" Voting for Trump

Why would any sane person consider voting for Trump? Good question.

I’m NOT considering voting for Trump as the way to “make America great again”. That’s not going to happen. Only fools and fascists fall for that crap. Trump would only bring xenophobia, racism, war, torture, group punishment and more medieval methods to deal with problems of our modern era.

Trump declared, "They probably think we’re weak, we’re stupid, we don’t know what we’re doing, we have no leadership. You know, you have to fight fire with fire."

The crowd responded with chants of “USA! USA!”

At one point, he asked the crowd: "What do you think about waterboarding?"

When Trump answered, "I like it a lot. I don't think it's tough enough," it was met with cheers of course.

Like Bush before him, Trump would further destabilize the world and make America more lawless and belligerent than before. The potential damage he could do is limitless.

And that’s why I would consider voting for him. Our country is rigged for the elites and broken for the citizens, and cannot be repaired as it is now.

The “tear it all down and rebuild” idea is something to be considered, and nobody could help bring it all down faster than Trump. The only problem is the people suffering most now would have to face an even greater loss of democracy, along with more privation and austerity.

It will be ugly. But that never stopped them from voting for Republicans and Corpo-dems before.

Older people vote for the party that wants to privatize their Social Security and cut Medicare. Too many apathetic younger people don’t have any interest in their future. Yes, it is the definition of insanity to repeat the same failed pattern.

So, why not embrace “if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em”? Let’s steer this stinking ship of fools into the iceberg. We’re doing it anyway. It’s only a matter of how fast we do it. I’ve been fortunate enough to have had a good life. I have no young children to worry about. My future doesn’t matter so much anymore. Why should I care?

That’s the only possible way I would "consider" voting for Trump. It’s good to at least consider every possibility, right?

Would you shoot a sick person in the gut to cure them of a stomach ache? That makes about as much sense as voting for Trump to make America great again.

Exactly, Jerry. I would never vote for Trump.

I was just "considering" the only possible reason why I would. And it would make no sense of course, given the "consideration". I'll punctuate the word for better satiric clarity.

The thing is, there's little real consideration for most voters. Consideration must be based on facts. Facts can be difficult to determine in our corporate media version of reality.

Even worse, too many voters vote their beliefs over facts. Beliefs that are loaded with resentment, anger and blame for entire groups. Especially for the "Liberal media".

Republicans have indoctrinated their cult thorough enough to believe only their party, over journalists and scientists.

It doesn't make any reasonable sense to vote for Trump, because it is bigotry, propaganda, and emotional manipulation that decides their vote.

You are right, Dave. Voting for Trump certainly does not come the application of truth, justice, and the American way, and Trump is certainly not faster than a speeding bullet, stronger than a locomotive, and able to leap tall building in a single bound.

I'm not a big Hillary fan, but if she, or her husband screw this up we are fucked. So today's story (meeting with the AG) is Bill screwing it up. Lets hope Hillary won't screw it up and get indited.

The election.
I see a big difference between Trump being president, or Clinton being president. I understand you don't, and why. But there will be a big difference, and that's why I think a vote is important.
I envy you. No matter who wins you can claim you had nothing to do with it. But my choice is in the here and now, not some ideological hope that somebody else was running.

I actually see a difference between a Trump and Clinton presidency, but the differences will be marginal -- as they always are.

Luke, please don't envy me for my choices. It took almost a lifetime to realize that the system is corrupt and beyond repair. The more things change, the more they stay the same. Either "party" -- and I use the term loosely, because I believe there's a binding philosophical commonality to the two -- will commit to policies that are probably ninety-five percent identical. The other five percent is essentially eyewash, and thrown out there for the masses to quibble and fight over. The establishment -- the elites and powers-that-be -- count on that division to stay in power.

Please understand that I don't take my strong positions based on ambivalence and a desire for non-accountability. Quite the opposite. I'm attempting to get people to think critically and realize that the current political system is a fraud -- pure and simple. Until people conquer that cognitive dissonance that prohibits them from making the connections, they're always going to be in a position like we're in now -- or worse. The republic has already been lost. It's time to start thinking, seriously, about what's next.

On this Independence Day, think contemplatively about what was going through our Founding Fathers' minds. It wasn't an easy choice they made, and they knew it. We're going to have to make similar choices at some point. May our next "Independence Day" be the bell ringer that brings truth, justice and freedom to all Americans.

Have a safe and enjoyable 4th...

Luke, it appears your fears were unfounded. It looks like the FBI concluded that Clinton was only acting carelessly and not criminally.

It's no wonder, really, considering that the FBI has looked the other way regarding the Clinton's money-laundering schemes in Arkansas when Bill was the head honcho down there during most of the 1980s and up to his elevation to the U.S. presidency in '92.

As I said, it's little wonder. The whole system is fraught with corruption. When a population allows others to do the governing, and doesn't have the time or the wherewithal to monitor what's going on in their name, they get what they deserve.

Yes, "the FBI has looked the other way regarding the Clinton's money-laundering schemes in Arkansas". The CIA was tight with Bush cronies. The elites take care of their own "bi-partisan" operatives. The Reagan/Bush/Clinton/Obama cartel has decided to "look forward" for good reason.

It's a page right out of the mafia playbook.

I can understand why it took you a lifetime to get it JG. If you think I fear Clinton getting indited when I was hoping she would get indited, just shows how much you misunderstand.

Luke: "I can understand why it took you a lifetime to get it JG."

The point, and most important element here, is that I do get it. The Democratic Party wasn't beholden to corporate money -- specifically that of international banking interests -- a few decades ago, but it sure is now. The Democratic Party changed. I didn't.

My guess is that you don't understand this, or if you do you're willing to overlook it. Is this correct?

"If you think I fear Clinton getting indited when I was hoping she would get indited, just shows how much you misunderstand."

Your words above, on July 1st, when you mentioned, "I'm not a big Hillary fan, but if she, or her husband screw this up we are fucked", led me to believe you were fearful of Clinton getting indicted. If that's not the case, apparently I did misunderstand -- but it was only because you faulted when you communicated it that way.

Have you unhitched your wagon from the Clinton train since then?
