My Little Dream

IF the US didn't have a hopelessly corrupt rogue government, I'd suggest these simple remedies to restore our country's honor, values and economy.

What needs to be done is a bi-partisan effort. I think the American people would go for it, if we just told them the facts for once. It would be worth it for the MSM to tell the truth for a change, if only to have a full blown media circus covering the comeuppance of those who deserve it. It's past time for impeachments and indictments. The Karmic wheel has got to turn on the slimy scoundrels before it turns even more on the rest of us.

First we need to fire and prosecute all the greedy thieving Wall Street swindlers who bankrupted our country. The taxpayers may as well have bought the banks, so we may also as well nationalize them. Obviously nobody could manage them any worse than those silk suited reptiles did.

Then we need to make examples of the politicians who screwed everything up.

The Republicans can impeach Pelosi, Hoyer, Harmon, Nelson, Reid, and Rockefeller for aiding and abetting torture and illegal wiretaps. I bet they'd like that.

Let's even allow that to proceed first, in the spirit of bipartisanship. After that gets under way, we'll have Obama's Department of Justice live up to its name and indict Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, Perle, Gonzales, etc. for torture, war crimes, and illegal surveillance.

That's my little dream of justice for a government of the people, by the people, and for the people.

Good one! They are all complicit! They should all be screwed but they will get away with it.

I wrote a post on it but I the US Spy Agency just came up with a list of our top 5 fears! The global economic crisis, the Balkans, Afghanistan, North Korea, and computer security.

After the performance of the last eight years and what we just saw play out they better redo that list and put #1 our two part system. They are our and the worlds biggest enemies. Nothing matter but them period and it will be to all our demise!

Wake up, Dave, you're dreamin' wild dreams.

We can no longer trust the corporatists, bankers, and politicians to self-police.

Avarice and hypocrisy have become so deeply ingrained, it will be left up to the people to cleanse the system. Can we do it? Absolutely. Will we? It's doubtful.

It's a shame, but only after millions starve to death, and tens of millions more have lost everything, will they find the courage and the will to wrest back their country.

I truly doubt we will see it in our lifetimes.

One more thing --- Don't hold your breath wating for the MSM to tell the truth (I'd miss you). They're Corporatists, and just like the Bankers and Politicians, honesty is something they know nothing about.

Hi, Jim,
Domestic corporate criminals and politcal enemies of our Constitution ARE the biggest threats to us.

Tim,
You're right! I'd better wake up and drink the kool-ade.

Glug, glug, glug.

Ahhh. That's much better. You know, those people with the most money ARE smarter and better than the rest of us. We should just let them do what they think is best. Then we get to see all that money trickle down to us. Yup, yup.

After watching the performance of both parties I am convinced that even Obama does not matter he is on his own. Only the party's matter and they are our biggest enemy now since Bush is gone!

In the spirit of bi-partizenship, the media and politicians have chosen to ignore the crimes of the banking sector of the economy. Under both administrations. I continue to hear of the need to stop forclosures, but none about the credit default swaps and selling of "insurance" on investments by the big financial houses that are the cause of the problem! Where is the clarity that was promised?

If only. That would indeed be a wonderful (and essential) start to restoring some measure of sanity and not only in the U.S.

Unfortunately, the question of what is worth it under systems of cutthroat capitalism that are dominated by an established financial aristocarcy is determined by factors other than "the truth". In fact, so is "the truth" itself, for that matter, where the standards of commercialism apply not just to advertising puffery, but to all aspects of the societal environment.

Anon,
We are "clearly" screwed.

Arvy,
You're right. At this point there is barely and journalism and truth, just media and marketing.

Remember when the Americans bought the war in Iraq thanks to marketing the idea in September rather than August of 2002?

Great post. Great rant. Actually better than a rant, uz cyou even offer some solutions - even though it'll be a cold day in hell when anything as RIGHTeous as what you suggest ever happens in the United States of False Righteousness.
