The American people have spoken. Tuesday’s election let the Democratic Party know what we the people want from our government of, by, and for the people.
But
will they LISTEN? Their congressional leadership appears to be deaf to their own
voters.
Since the Council first asked in 2021, at least half of Americans have said they would support restrictions on US military aid to Israel to ensure it would not be used in Israeli operations against Palestinians. This percentage has now risen to 57 percent (up from 53% in 2024), the highest number of Americans yet recorded in Council polling. Six in 10 Independents (59%) and seven in 10 Democrats (71%) support these restrictions, compared to four in 10 Republicans (40%)
Schumer said this at a gathering of Jewish leaders and community members in New York: “I have many jobs as leader.. and one is to fight for aid to Israel — all the aid that Israel needs. I will continue to fight for it. We delivered more security assistance to Israel, our ally, under my leadership than ever, ever before. We will keep doing that.”
To be clear, that’s not what the majority of Democrats and the public support or voted for. For this reason Schumer should NOT be Senate Majority Leader.
You remember Abdul El-Sayed, right? He’s the guy Trumpists and radical Zionists called a “Jihadist supporter” and “threat to Americans”.
Schumer showed up for dinner with Trump, and Jeffries showed up for secret meetings with Kushner. Where DIDN’T they show up? The protests, Democrat rallies, town halls, weren’t important to them.
After Abdul won his primary Schumer and Jeffries endorsed Abdul, but NOT his agenda. At least they didn't jump to Right and betray their own party and endorse MAGA Mike Rogers like poor little deranged Haley Stevens did.
But they DO betray the will of their voters.
Senator-Elect Abdul El-Sayed does not back Schumer for leadership: "I want new leadership - focused on getting money out of politics, putting money in your pocket, and passing Medicare for all... I want to see who else is willing to throw their hat in the ring."
Abdul would prefer Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) to become Senate majority leader.
“The No. 1 most important thing we can do is protect people from the healthcare nuclear bomb that’s about to go off in our system with Medicaid cuts … No. 2, end this stupid fucking war.”
The HORROR! Run for your lives! Get out the metal detectors! Flee to Israel! PLEASE !
And clearly Jeffries and Schumer want to abet Israel's war crimes and occupation of neighboring countries. Remember Netanyahu supports the "Greater Israel" lebensraum expansion around Israel. This radical nationalist aggression mirrors almost every other dictator's ambitions.
Bibi’s
Boyz should NOT be our boys.
Maybe AIPAC darling Jeffries is being judged too harshly for his Zionism and association with Jared Kushner? Or maybe for his weak support for universal Medicare for all?
Jeffries was asked, "Why does universal health care keep getting sidelined by party leadership?"
He responded, “Well, I think there’s been no Medicare for all bill that has been currently introduced".
Is that so?
And just who could possibly introduce such a bill since it’s clearly
not a priority of Jeffries?
"The American people don't want us to get even; they want us to get things done on their behalf."
Sorry,
Hakeem, demanding justice for the criminal Trump Cartel is not "getting even". And we WANT universal health care like every other civilized country.
We have more than enough AIPAC/corporate Democrats and Fettermans, let alone Republicans, who can’t seem to prioritize what MOST Americans want, need, and voted for. 56.5% oppose the war with Iran. 35.9% support it.
From the Chicago Council on Global Affairs:
Americans
have become less supportive of US military aid to Israel over the past decade.
Today, a combined majority (56%) of Americans say US military aid to the
country should be either decreased (21%) or stopped altogether (35%)… As they have over the
past 20 years, Americans continue to believe the United States should not take
either side in the Israel-Palestinian conflict, though a smaller majority feel
that way today (56%) than in previous years.
Having two political parties that IGNORE what Americans say they want and need is nothing short of tragic for the American people, and ultimately self-defeating for the corporate/AIPAC politicians.
Democrats could hold the White House and Congress for decades if they had the sense, and loyalty to we the people, to expand healthcare and refuse AIPAC and corporate/oligarch money.
Is that too much to ask?
Yeah,
I know. Democracy, schlemocracy.
