"Our Oil"

Trump would never lie his way into a war for oil, like Dick Cheney and his Minion President did, would he?

Unless..."Terrorism", "our oil", and "regime change”, oh, my!

It seems like just yesterday, literally yesterday, when Trump’s ridiculous, unhinged, childish, and outrageously lie-filled “Presidential Walk of Fame” was revealed. (I won't elaborate on his evil smears of cancer victim Joe Biden, but they rank down there with his despicable hate and cruelty towards Rob Reiner.)

The plaque for Bush Jr. reads, "largely defined by the events of Sept. 11, 2001." It also says Bush, "started wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, both of which should not have happened."

On this, I agree. Remember when MAGA enthusiastically embraced Trump as their “man of peace” who wouldn’t start any such war?

Until now. That didn’t age well. As expected, Gabbard will politicize our intelligence assessments and bend them towards one of Trump’s excuses to wage war on Venezuela.

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard fired two top officials on the National Intelligence Council in a move aimed at ending the “weaponization and politicization” of the intelligence community, a spokesperson for her office confirmed Wednesday.

Gabbard terminated NIC acting director Mike Collins and his deputy, Maria Langan-Riekhof, weeks after the intelligence body authored an assessment that contradicted President Donald Trump’s claims about Venezuelan gang members.

They’re already feeling a rush of power as Trump murders people and captures an oil tanker on the open seas. It's not murder because Trump says it isn't. It's not theft because Trump says it isn't. Trump’s actions and blockade of Venezuela are acts of war.

Those human beings and boats he’s destroying off Venezuela were never a threat to America and were likely carrying cocaine intended for Europe.

Obviously, “America first” does not apply here. His war on Venezuela has nothing to do with fentanyl, even though Trump wants to call it a “Weapon of Mass Destruction”.

Oh, but this is a new kind of “terrorism”, one that Trump invented himself. "Drug Terrorism":

“I hereby designate illicit fentanyl and its core precursor chemicals as Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD).”

Authoritarians are notorious for rejecting accepted definitions of words and redefining them in order to fear-monger.

For the record:

Merriam-Webster’s definition of “weapon”:

1 something (such as a club, knife, or gun) used to injure, defeat, or destroy

2 a means of contending against another

"Terrorism", "our oil", and "regime change”.

Ding, ding, ding! That rings a bell.

It was never about drugs. It’s all a cover for his ambition to steal oil for his fellow oligarchs and force regime change. My prediction is Putin will talk Trump out of it, but only after the ensuing chaos has done its work for the Kremlin.

We know for certain that the Criminal President doesn’t give a damn about public health and the lives of Americans.

Nearly 47,000 people died of gun-related injuries in the United States in 2023, according to the latest available statistics from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

More than 26,000 Americans die each year due to the lack of health insurance.

While overdoses are still tragically too frequent, they are on the decline.

For the first time since 2018, the United States has seen a decrease in drug overdose deaths and poisonings, with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention noting a 14.5 percent decrease in deaths between June 2023 and June 2024. More than 107,000 people lost their lives to a drug overdose in 2023, with nearly 70 percent of those deaths attributed to opioids such as fentanyl.

70,000 opioid overdose deaths are terrible, but opioids are still not the deadliest substance for Americans

If fentanyl is an “WMD”, how about the far more lethal substances?

About 178,000 people die from excessive drinking each year.

Cigarette smoking causes about one of every five deaths in the United States each year. More than 480,000 deaths annually (including deaths from secondhand smoke).

No worries. When it comes to corporate profits, American lives are expendable. "No blood for oil" is just lame, and so woke.

CNN’s top data guru Harry Enten revealed this morning that the approval rating for Democrats is at an all-time low, and adds that as far as the American public is concerned, it’s lower than the Dead Sea.

Even among just Democratic voters, it’s still really bad.

Thanks for the poll info, Vern. Have you been indoctrinated on what to think about war with Venezuela yet? I'll share your opinion on the topic, but not more deflections.

House Democrats face low approval ratings in a Quinnipiac poll. Their voters are disappointed.

https://poll.qu.edu/poll-release?releaseid=3943

HOWEVER, the same poll shows:

If the election were today, would you want to see the Republican Party or the Democratic Party win control of the United States House of Representatives?

Republicans 43%

Democrats 47%

Knowhatahmean, Vern?

What is most startling is the mere +4% gap in favor of dems. Given the orange toddler in cheif and HIS party's dismal, no, horrific record of ignorant incompetence one would expect a much wider difference. Like 25% or mpre.

But this is America, many still asleep in their dreams, refusing to wake up.

The massive radical Right propaganda machine has done its job.

Most Americans are either uninformed or duped by disinformation. They sense the rich should be taxed more, but out of fear, resentment, racism and gullibility, they vote for greater inequality, cruelty to the vulnerable, and high healthcare costs through politicians who are owned by the economic elites who profit from our corrupted system..

Yup. I blame the intentional dumbing down of America by the republican party. Trump, its face of change encapsulated the gop's posistion very well when he uttered, I love the uneducated. As Trump and Project 2025 decimated the educational system to insure the continued ignorance of people will keep THEM and their greed in power.

Trump us but their useful idiot.

The US FAILS as a democratic republic. Clear evidence that the rich own Congress:

https://www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2025/03/19/most-americans-continue-to-favor-raising-taxes-on-corporations-higher-income-households/

More than six-in-ten U.S. adults (63%) say tax rates on large businesses and corporations should be raised.

Republicans know their ignorant, duped, and racist white base will be happy with tax cuts for the rich as long as people they hate will suffer.

Not many comments on the breathtaking comments by Trump that Venezuelan Oil is our oil.

If there has been a more colonialist statement by a post Nixon president, including Reagan, I'm not aware of it.

Venezuelan oil is Venezuelan oil. Period. Full Stop.

Unless of course you believe oil in the present day US, which was once Mexico, is Mexico's oil.

How do people synthesize their world views into a cohesive belief system these days? Especially when they lack the skills to not just understand, but even know history.

For sure Dave. Ignorance, delusion, and their deep conditioning through listening to and accepting con propaganda (to insure the wealthy elite retain power) over a very many years has produced the sheeple the authoritarian elite need to retain power.

From "divine right of kings" through Hitler, Stalin, and Trump, religion and political indoctrination have paid off handsomely for the greediest, most corrupt, and cruelest of leaders.
From Hitlers, “What good fortune for those in power that people do not think”, to Trump's, "I love the poorly educated", the pattern is clear.
This flaw will eventually result in the extinction of the human species.

Dave,
It's called imperialism. The ignorant masses have no clue what that means, just as they have no clue about socialism, representative democracy, or communism.
I'm still waiting on their answer to, "Have you been indoctrinated on what to think about war with Venezuela yet?"

Ayup. The greed that prevents the capitalistic wealthy elite from respecting and protecting our environment and the natural world will eventually lead to the extinction of the human race and likely very many other life forms.
