I was predicting the reason for the Draft-dodging Criminal President Trump’s “Day of the Generals” would be either his laying the groundwork for martial law, purging the ranking officers, or announcing an invasion of Venezuela.
It turns out the first two were close to the mark.
Opening act "Pickled" Pete Hegseth complained, “Frankly, it’s tiring to look out at combat formations and see fat troops, Likewise, it’s completely unacceptable to see fat generals and admirals.”
Gee, Pete. Is it equally unacceptable to see a fat Commander-in-Chief? Do you think maybe your boss could set an example and lead the troop formations in push-ups? After all, we’re told he’s the “healthiest president” in history.
The Draft-dodging Criminal President Trump made it clear where their loyalties should lie. “If I don’t like you, if you don’t agree with what I tell you, I’ll fire you on the spot.”
Then the Draft-dodging Criminal President ludicrously tried to lecture those career military personnel that Portland looked like a "war zone".
In his address to “his generals”, Trump has decreed that Hegseth "should use some of these dangerous cities as training grounds for our military”. And "This is going to be a big thing for the people in this room, because it's the enemy from within, and we have to handle it before it gets out of control. The ones that are run by radical left Democrats -- what they've done to San Francisco, Chicago, New York, Los Angeles. They're very unsafe places and we're gonna straighten them out one by one. And this is gonna be a major part for some people in this room. That's a war too. It's war from within...Our history is filled with military heroes who took on all enemies foreign and domestic. That's what the oath says -- foreign and domestic. Well we also have domestic."
Yeah, that's called a military dictatorship in any other country. It is the inevitable step a dictator takes, especially in the context of his forming a military "quick reaction force” to deal with the “enemies within”, who just happen to be “insurrectionists”.
We know by now that the “enemies within” are whoever the Draft-dodging Criminal President Trump says they are. The “enemies within” are “communist” Democrats, journalists, news media (the “enemy of the people”), educators, scientists, entertainers, and of course any FBI/DOJ employee who worked to hold Trump, his cronies, and his J6 thugs accountable to our laws.
The Posse Comitatus Act bars federal troops from participating in civilian law enforcement except when expressly authorized by law:
“Whoever, except in cases and under circumstances expressly authorized by the Constitution or Act of Congress, willfully uses any part of the Army, the Navy, the Marine Corps, the Air Force, or the Space Force as a posse comitatus or otherwise to execute the laws shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than two years, or both.”
This is why a federal judge in California ruled that Trump violated federal law with how troops were deployed in Los Angeles this summer.
But
since when has the Draft-dodging Criminal President ever followed the law? He
makes up his own laws through Executive Orders:

As appropriate and consistent with applicable law, the Attorney General, the Secretary of the Interior, and the Secretary of Homeland Security, in coordination with the Secretary of Defense, shall each deputize the members of this unit to enforce Federal law.
(ii) The Secretary of Defense shall immediately begin ensuring that each State’s Army National Guard and Air National Guard are resourced, trained, organized, and available to assist Federal, State, and local law enforcement in quelling civil disturbances and ensuring the public safety and order whenever the circumstances necessitate, as appropriate under law. In coordination with the respective adjutants general, the Secretary of Defense shall designate an appropriate number of each State’s trained National Guard members to be reasonably available for rapid mobilization for such purposes. In addition, the Secretary of Defense shall ensure the availability of a standing National Guard quick reaction force that shall be resourced, trained, and available for rapid nationwide deployment.
We’re seeing previews of what this will look like in incident after incident of physical abuses by ICE officers and detention facilities across the country. We saw it in Chicago when ICE officers yelled, "Get him!' and chased after a bike messenger for just saying, "Fuck Trump!" He narrowly escaped a violent beating and being dragged to a detention center.
It’s understood by rational observers that by “quelling civil disturbances” the Draft-dodging Criminal President Trump means silencing anyone who protests or speaks out against him. He’s called every one of us “vermin”, “radical leftists who hate America”, “communists”, and of course, the “enemy within”.
One ray of hope could be in those commanding officers seeing how likely the bumbling babble and sheer idiocy from Trump and Hegseth could result in their issuing illegal orders that they can legally refuse.
Otherwise we may as well get ready to say hello to dictatorship and martial law, and goodbye to habeas corpus, elections, and the rule of law.

What is astounding to me is the fact that millions of Americans watched that disgusting display of anti-American authoritarianism by Hegseth and Trump and then went about their daily routines, as though it is perfectly normal for a POTUS to declare that American citizens are the "enemy within."
It is no wonder that Trump is bleeding support and that a majority of Americans reject his authoritarian policies. His people know this, and when a malignant narcissist suffers an injury to his ego, (as Trump did when the 800 men and women in that audience correctly refused to applaud him), he becomes more dangerous.
I believe that Trump is too stupid and senile to be initiating policies, so what is happening in DC is, no doubt, being orchestrated by the architects of Project 2025. We are witnessing a takeover by anti-democratic, anti-American thugs. Trump is nothing more than an empty vessel they're using to fulfill their agenda.

International Holocaust Remembrance Day, is designated to be January 27, by the United Nations General Assembly. It’s a day for the international community and men and women of good will everywhere to call to mind the six million Jews and all the other victims killed by Adolf Hitler’s Third Reich. The specific event it commemorates is the liberation of the Auschwitz death camp by the Red Army in 1945.
It’s a day for all of you Progressive, Democratic, Communist, Socialist to take a good look in the Mirror.
To remember is to be human. And to remember the Holocaust is to stand in solidarity with the victims. The very act of calling the Holocaust to mind is, in a sense, a victory for humanity. If Hitler had succeeded in his genocidal plan, no one would be remembering it today. Indeed, as we read in the memoirs of those who suffered in Auschwitz and the other camps, their main fear was that, even if they survived to tell the tale, no one would believe them. Their Nazi tormentors told them as much. One prisoner at Auschwitz, Primo Levi, never forgot the cruel taunting by the guards—“No one will believe you or remember,” they told him, laughing in his face. It was a sadistic and dehumanizing act, an attempt to render the victims helpless and alone. Levi would remain haunted by that fear his entire life.
Thankfully, the Nazis failed in their quest, and on this day, the world remembers. We today are more fortunate than those living in the immediate postwar era. Then, the trauma was too fresh, too raw, and few survivors wished to testify to their ordeal. Indeed, the language didn’t even exist. The word “Holocaust” wouldn’t become common usage until some time had passed. A few voices eventually broke the silence, however: Anne Frank’s The Diary of a Young Girl appeared in the United States in 1952, followed by Elie Wiesel’s Night, and Primo Levi’s Survival in Auschwitz, still an astonishing book for its power, its brutal realism, and its humanity.
