Supreme Court Treachery

I wrote on Feb 29, "If the Roberts court had planned all along to aid and abet Trump’s election interference crimes and attempted coup it would do EXACTLY what it is doing now."

The Red Hats on the Supreme Court bench have been doing everything possible to delay justice for Donald Trump. They are essentially granting dictatorial immunity to a criminal. This is neo-fascist level corruption that aids and abets both Trump's insurrection and future tyranny.

And don't get me started on the sleazeball husband of an insurrectionist, who would have had the decency to recuse himself, IF he had a conscience or any sense of shame.

Back in December Jack Smith asked the Court to address Trump’s unfounded BS immunity claim to clear the way for a trial that would show the evidence of Trump’s crime spree before the upcoming election. The Court declined and sent it down to the Circuit Court to decide.

Supreme delay, Supreme obstruction of justice, and Supreme election interference, count one.

So, the Circuit Court did decide. They made it clear there was no Constitutional provision for ANYONE to be above the law and unaccountable for their crimes. There is no “presidential immunity” from criminal prosecution. The only immunity is limited under a DOJ Office of Legal Counsel policy that says a sitting president cannot be indicted.

Enter the Red Hats of the Supreme Court. “We’ll take it up now”, as they moved onto the surest way to delay the trials of Trump and by extension, justice for America. They assured de facto immunity for Trump before the election.

Supreme delay, Supreme obstruction of justice, and Supreme election interference, count two.

It was a set up for delay. The corrupt Court of the Red Hat Majority agreed to take the case of Trump’s “imaginary immunity” claim, but only within the narrow confines of determining whether the acts were “official” or not.

Yeah. This opened them up for endless deflection and distraction from the URGENT CASE AT HAND, and steer it off into what it means for future presidents! We gotta protect them from prosecution, too, as if they were counting on a Republican/Trump dynasty of dictators to rule a former democratic republic.

Trump's attorney John Sauer made the outrageous claim, that depending on circumstances, ASSASSINATING a political rival could be considered an "official act"! The same would apply to a coup, of course.

No wonder Putin loves Trump and his party of useful authoritarian idiots. They're praising AND emulating him.

And this devious delay, obstruction of justice, and blatant election interference by the high court will FURTHER delay the trials when they invariably kick it back down to a lower court. See the pattern here?

Supreme delay, Supreme obstruction of justice, and Supreme election interference, count three.

This is how democracy is killed in plain sight.

And as I wrote last week, “The authoritarian minority can defeat the majority's will in an undemocratic Senate, an undemocratic gerrymandered House, an undemocratic Electoral College, and the Supreme Court stacked by a minority empowered president and Senate. Both Trump and Bush Jr. lost the popular vote and won the White House, and thanks to a Senate installed and controlled by a minority they built a six to three majority in the Supreme Court.”

The fast track to dictatorship begins by first corrupting the courts.  And the authoritarian minority is getting away with it.

This ongoing coup has been decades in the making. Bush v Gore stopped the count and overruled the majority. Citizens United transformed corporate bribery into “free speech”.  Shelby County v. Holder gutted Section 5 of the Voting Rights Act of 1965. Dobbs v Jackson stripped women of the reproductive rights. And now the partisan, rigged, and stolen Supreme Court’s Red Hatted Justices are granting Trump’s wish for immunity from prosecution.

This corrupt and highly partisan court has transformed the words chiseled into the marble edifice of the Supreme Court into another big lie. The very idea of “Equal justice under law” has been desecrated in the name of Donald Trump.

The Congress cannot save the republic. The president cannot save the republic. The courts cannot save the republic.

Strap in, kids. We’re on the ride of our lives towards the darkness of lawless tyranny. It’s past time to take the wheel.

Only “we the people” can save the republic. Our only hope is our right to vote. It’s now or never.

The struggle for democracy never ends. It is now and forever.

“Struggle”s require work and thinking. Too many of the people I know who are self described MAGAts do little of either. A brief “Letter to the Editor” of our small town newspaper often complains about Pres. Biden or (less often these days) boasts about DT. I’m certain I read more than they do because their complaints are nearly always Trump talking points about Biden and their boasts generally praise any opposition to the Administration. The old Editor (a DT supporter) has been replaced by a new one even more intransigent than the last. Free Press is like that. I get to complain about national news and local media to anyone who will listen, but few do. I get grumpy.

I'm already preparing myself for what could very well soon be our reality. Election outcomes carrying the Official Stamp of Party Approved Election Outcomes, just like in Putin's Russia and every other tyrannical dictitorial regime that has ever existed.

We are on the road to tyranny with the usual flag waving and bible thumping bulls*it by the ignorant fools we've elected to office and allowed to sully our democratic repuplic.

It's enough to make this one thinking individual sick. Especially because it is us doing it to ourselves. Oh well, i guess it's good there is single malt scotch. Tastier than vodka.

Anonymous,
Trump's cult is all-too-willing to unwittingly demonstrate why Trump said, "I love the poorly educated". The poorly educated and evangelicals are soft targets for propaganda. They don't have to read or even consider other viewpoints because the BELEIVE they have all the answers they need. They operate on beliefs over facts, the former being much easier for the ignorant and incurious.

While Trump once said, "Hitler did a lot of good things", we can imagine Trump saw him as a role model to gain power. The similarities are terrifying. Their use of lies, hate, racism and scapegoating is clearly the path to fascism. Calling opponents "vermin" and "communists" are directly from Hitler's playbook. Convincing their supporters that anyone against him isn't a patriot is also a shared tactic. Then there's Hitler's 1923 violent Putsch and Trump's January 6, 2021 coup really shows us their true character.

Les,
It was only a matter of time when an authoritarian minority learned to work our Constitution's anti-democratic flaws to realize their dream of minority rule.

And they have learned that "ignorance is strength" when rallying their true believers. My current reading is Eric Hoffer's "True Believers", an excellent study of how easily the frustrated and poorly educated are always ready for a strongman to lead them and give their lives purpose and meaning. It is the default realm of the authoritarian personalities, both followers and leaders.

Humans can be the most savage of primates, so we're stuck with bullies, tyrants and thugs. They can never disappoint us when we keep that in mind.

The single malt spirits of the Isle of Islay are my adult beverages of choice. Good music, an interesting book, and a few wee drams make for a pleasant and soothing evening away from the swirling madness of screeching red-hatted savage primates.

I recommend "Meditations" by emperor/philosopher Marcus Aurelius. Classical Stoicism has much in common with Eastern Buddhism. Of course, neither would interest the red-hatted, chest-thumping, savage primates. Basically all they want is to see people they hate suffer.

Oh hey. A quote from T. Paine. I wondered happened with that guy...

Dave Dubya said...

TB3,
T. Paine is now Darrell Michaels at his blog, https://savingcommonsense.blogspot.com/

He's been posting pieces about me, but I'm forbidden to respond. How fair and balanced of him. So I thought I'd address his remarks in my previous posts "Common Ground" and "Not Fooled".

See:
“Please, Tell Me What I am Thinking, Mr. Leftist”
https://savingcommonsense.blogspot.com/2024/04/please-tell-me-what-i-am-thinking-mr.html

(He's addressing me, but won't let me respond. How Trumpian of him.)

And:
"The Unbridgeable Divide Between Left and Right"
https://savingcommonsense.blogspot.com/2024/03/the-unbridgeable-divide-between-left.html

(He didn't like my suggestion in response to his query on finding common ground with people like me. Short answer: Accept the reality that Trump is a pathological liar and he really did LOSE a fair election in 2020. I learned this is "commie" talk.)

He's been very annoyed with me since I cited the tipping point in his radicalized born-again Trumpism.

This is what Darrell wrote at my blog on Jan 8, 2021:
“Dave, Trump was wrong to give encouragement and a wink and a nod to the protestors and delaying any attempt to rein them back. He was complicit. Sadly this ego maniacal narcissist tarnished the myriad of good things he has done for our country with this latest escapade.”

This is what Darrell wrote on May 15, 2021:
“Trump instigates a riot according to the left and the media, but then I repeat myself. (He didn’t.)”

Maybe you can visit his blog and offer your input. If so, please convey my warm and cheerful greetings. He's great at inspiring topics of discussion, but not so good at actual discussion.

I keep offering facts that challenge his Trumpist beliefs. No wonder he's furious with me. Once duped, they tend to be all in. Oops. There's that commie talk again.:-)

Yes Dave, just like former President Trump, you have been gagged. How you like it now?

Dave Dubya said...

JTF,
Thanks for your concern.
Being banned from a True Believer Trumpist blog only means I'm telling truths that the Trump Cult can't handle.
In fact, it is quite COWARDLY to direct a post at me and then deny my response.
Moral cowardice, like hate and dishonesty, is a standard feature of Trumpism.
Trump's violation of gag orders resulted in death threats from his radicalized hateful neo-Nazi followers.
And you can't see that as a problem, can you?
No neo-Nazi does. Perhaps you and your friends know the Klan used "Make America Great Again" as their slogan?

Just the Facts! said...

As we have all come to expect, actions by the left are excused, those same actions by the right are are called Nazi. So predictable.

Dave Dubya said...

JTF aka Vern,

The fact you cannot specify the actions that are "excused" by the left and what "same actions" that neo-Nazis support tells us you have no information or ideas to share.

SO predictable.

Remember this?

No Trump supporter has even tried to answer these questions:

I WELCOME any information that would indicate I am mistaken, misinformed or flawed in my reasoning. Please set me straight.

Here are some handy and simple forms to make it easier for Trump’s true believers and supporters:

Dave, I have to say you are stating falsehoods by claiming (_____) and (_______). These verifiable facts and evidence (_____) and (____) suggest you are quite mistaken.

Also, this:

Trump really won the 2020 election and here is the proof of massive voter fraud that "senile" Joe Biden brilliantly orchestrated to steal it: ___________.

And this:

Trump WILL make America great again, like it used to be before 2016, from the years_____ to ____.

Finally, this:

Trump is being persecuted by the "deep state', "racist" Black judges and prosecutors, and "communist" democrats by indicting him on "phony" charges.

Here are the verifiable facts and evidence that exonerate him. 1. ____2. ____3. ____4. ___.

Thank you.
===

Also for bonus points, please show us the verifiable evidence that the shows those Black Judges are "racist" and Democrats are "communists".

Are the judges saying, "Death to Whitey"? Your Dear Leader is the ONLY presidential candidate to ever spout the racist neo-Nazi line, "I think there is a definite anti-white feeling in this country and that can’t be allowed either.”

Are Democrats saying, "Marx, Lenin, Stalin, and Mao were right! Ban private ownership! Let the government own and run all industry, manufacturing, and distribution of goods and services! Tear up the Constitution and establish a Communist dictatorship"?

So far your Dear Leader is the ONLY one to end our Constitutional tradition of peaceful transfer of power, and to openly wish to terminate the Constitution and declare his intentions to be dictator. He's the ONLY one that said, "Hitler did a lot of good things".

So there you go Vern. Set me straight.

Vern?

Anyone?

Bueller?

Dave, still tilting at windmills I see. Chew on this

1. Kristen Clarke, the head of Biden’s DOJ Civil Rights Division, did not disclose an arrest from a domestic fight
2. SHE LIED under oath

Not that you will respond, lying under oath is ok if you are a democrat... right Dave,

JTF was right when she said "As we have all come to expect, actions by the left are excused, those same actions by the right are are called Nazi. So predictable."

Dave Dubya said...

Say, Vern.

What do you think about a person who makes this request directed at me? "Please, Tell Me What I am Thinking, Mr. Leftist", but refuses to allow a response?

Is that moral courage? Is it reasonable and good faith discussion? Is it even the least bit curious? Or is it just fear of facing evidence, facts and rational dialogue?

If these questions are too difficult for you, maybe you could ask Darrell for assistance.

He seems to lack the interest, curiosity and courage to face me here, or at his blog.

Of course, he is always welcome here to question, discuss, or dispute my words, and to offer his verifiable evidence that would indicate I am in error.

The same goes for you, but you're not afraid to comment here. At least you have that modicum of courage that he seems to lack.

Whatever he's afraid of, tell him I promise not to hurt his feelings.

But I can't take responsibility if reality and facts hurt his feelings. That seems more his problem than yours. I think you're just better at ignoring facts. ;-)

Dave Dubya said...

Anonymous,
Thank you for supporting JTF's unfounded assertion while offering no information as well.

You guys don't even TRY, do you?

Vern,
Those were valid questions that you cannot answer. "Windmills" are imaginary things, or dragons in "Don Quixote".

It's easy to see why you gave no information concerning the expungement of Kristen Clarke's record. She was a long-time victim of domestic abuse and fought back.

But since she's a Black female Democrat you don't want to know the truth, do you?

See which article offers more information and which shows EXTREME partisan bias:

CNN:
Clarke’s now-expunged arrest, which reportedly occurred during a domestic dispute, quickly became a cause célèbre among right-wing media and lawmakers who claim she lied during her 2021 Senate confirmation hearing, with some calling for her resignation.

“Nearly 2 decades ago, I was subjected to years-long abuse and domestic violence at the hands of my ex-husband,” Clarke wrote in the statement on Wednesday.

“This was a terrorizing and traumatizing period that I have sought to put behind me to promote my personal health, healing and well-being. The physical and emotional scars, the emotional abuse and exploitation, and the lying are things that no woman or mother should ever have to endure,” Clarke said.

In a written questionnaire from Republican Sen. Tom Cotton for the record before her Senate confirmation, Clarke answered “no” to a question asking whether, “since becoming a legal adult, have you ever been arrested for or accused of committing a violent crime against any person?”

Clarke acknowledged that she was arrested in her statement on Wednesday but said the arrest was expunged – meaning it was removed from her record and no longer exists – and that she wasn’t required to disclose it.

“When given the option to speak about such traumatic incidents in my life, I have chosen not to,” Clarke wrote. “I didn’t believe during my confirmation process and I don’t believe now that I was obligated to share a fully expunged matter from my past.”
==

(Note: An expungement order means a court removes an arrest or conviction from a person's court record for most purposes. After the expungement process is complete, you are not legally required to disclose the incident. In limited situations, you might be expected to disclose an expungement. When someone is under oath, they might have to disclose an expungement, but not the legal history beyond that. )

https://www.findlaw.com/criminal/expungement/expungement-basics.html

"Might have to" means might have to, not "required to". OK?

===
NYPost:

When you work for Joe Biden, laws really are for the little people — even when you’re in charge of enforcing them.

Witness Justice Department civil rights chief Kristen Clarke, who’s admitted that she lied during her 2021 Senate confirmation process.

Asked by Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) in a questionnaire if she had “ever been arrested for or accused of committing a violent crime against any person,” Clarke answered no.

In fact, she had been — on a 2006 domestic violence complaint when she allegedly sliced open her hubby’s finger with a knife.

Clarke’s now arguing that because the arrest was expunged, she wasn’t required to disclose it to lawmakers.

That’s precisely the kind of razor-sharp logic that top Biden appointees are known for.
===

If lying under oath bothers you so much, maybe you agree we need to impeach the four Supreme Court Republican Justices for lying about Roe v Wade being the “law of the land” and a standing “precedent”?

Did you read this far, Vern?

Vern?

Vern?

Dave Dubya said...

Vern's response started with this bad faith BS: "expunged" just another way to get a liberal off the hook.

He can't let go of his hate for a Black woman Democrat.

This was followed by personal digs, deflections, and "But Hunter Biden".

All he can do is spew hate. This is the way of white nationalist Trumpists. Good "Christian" hate.
