"Both Sides" BS

We’ve heard a lot of corporate and far Right media drivel about “both sides are to blame” for political violence.

But are they equally to blame?

Let's help our fellow citizens on the radical Right understand the difference between BLM protesters and Trump's mob of thugs and the mass murders of Jews, Blacks, and Mexicans by White racists.

Who's the real problem here?

BLM protests were in response to cops murdering unarmed Black people.

Trump's desperate January 6 coup was by a mob intending to overturn our democracy by violence in response to his Big Lie about the election.

ALL of these riots and crimes by both sides were CAUSED BY LIES AND CRIMES OF REPUBLICANS.

If White cops stop murdering Black people, and Republicans stop lying, we'd have peace.

Instead Republicans are openly embracing Trump's Big Lie and attacking our elections and democracy. They are regurgitating the white supremacist "Great Replacement Theory", emboldening racist attacks on people of color.

There's a way to measure the validity of my assessment of the real problem.

Let’s ask Trump supporters a simple question.

If they choose to ignore it, they only prove my point.

Who legitimately won the secure and fair presidential election in 2020?

I rest my case.

Now we know where the real problem is, don’t we?

Let the Democrats run everything and see what happens. Just look to history for that answer.

Anonymous,
Good suggestion.

Historically the economy expanded under Democrats. Civil Rights, Voter Rights, the middle class, healthcare and education all expanded under Democrats.

Deficits and debt rose more under Republicans. Bush/Cheney lied us into a needless war so their pals could get Iraqi oil.

Republicans have left us the Great Depression, the Bush Recession, and Trump's Big Lie with his violent thugs attacking our democracy.

Republicans want to dismantle Medicare and Social Security and cut taxes for their rich owners.

So, yeah. Good idea.

Historically, the Democratic Party has been the political party that has helped the average American, and the Republican Party has been the political party that has helped the very rich.

Shaw,

True words.

A troll wants you to know about a Gallup Poll that reflects more Americans saying they are "suffering".

Republicans have the largest growth of "suffering".

Maybe it's because they're moping about their Dear Leader's Big Lie and legal troubles?

As for the others, maybe their anxious that our former terrorist coddling president is under criminal investigation and his cult is threatening civil war?

Republicans have never comforted the afflicted, but they keep winning power at the voting booths. FDR ran Republicans out of Washington, and they did not hold majority for a very long time. Either Americans today have a very short memory, or they actually want the garbage Republicans have been pushing for decades. It seems Trump is going down, but Trump backed candidates are winning all over the country.

Republicans win by appealing to, and inflaming, resentments, anger and fear and religious fanaticism. They are authoritarians, crooks and liars.

Today's Republicans:

Former Tennessee House Speaker Glen Casada and top aide arrested on federal bribery, kickback charges.

Ron Johnson : "Senior citizens have misused social security and that's why i want it to sunset."

Scott Esk, 56, is running in the Republican primary runoff election tomorrow for a seat in the state house.

A GOP candidate in Oklahoma is getting attention for comments he made several years ago when he justified the death penalty by stoning for gay people. When asked recently about it, he didn’t disavow his previous comments.

Another person asked him: “So, just to be clear, you think we should execute homosexuals (presumably by stoning)?”

Esk responded: “I think we would be totally in the right to do it… Ignoring as a nation things that are worthy of death is very remiss.”

A year later, a journalist asked him about those comments. He said it was “totally just” to kill gay people.

“What I will tell you right now is that that was done in the Old Testament under a law that came directly from God,” he said at the time. “And in that time, there was, it was, totally just came directly from God.”

Anonymous wants to blame Biden and Democrats for global inflation. He can whine all he wants, but I welcome his argument that Trump's criminal cartel would stop global inflation.

Does he really think an insurrectionist traitor is better for our country?

Thanks for the link.

We never saw much media attention to the first person to start the vandalism and fires during the BLM protests. Hint: He wasn't BLM or Antifa.

Minneapolis protests:
'Umbrella Man' who broke windows is white supremacist, police say

Man sought to incite racial tension and sparked chaos at peaceful demonstrations, police say

Police say a man captured on surveillance video breaking windows at a south Minneapolis auto parts store in the days after George Floyd’s death is suspected of ties with a white supremacist group and sought to incite racial tension.

The man’s actions soon led to an arson fire, the first of several that transformed peaceful protests into chaos, police say. He has been dubbed “Umbrella Man” for dressing in an all-black outfit that included hood, gas mask and black umbrella.

“This was the first fire that set off a string of fires and looting throughout the precinct and the rest of the city,” Erika Christensen, a Minneapolis police arson investigator, wrote in a search warrant affidavit this week, the Star Tribune reported.

Let's add some more perspective on these White Supremacist arsonists, thugs and vandals:

"Man who helped ignite George Floyd riots identified as white supremacist: Police" -- ABC News.
"LEAKED DOCUMENTS SHOW POLICE KNEW FAR-RIGHT EXTREMISTS WERE THE REAL THREAT AT PROTESTS, NOT 'ANTIFA'" -- Intercept.

Minneapolis (especially the police) has a history of bias against blacks. It is well known to those who live here. One white supremacist could not and did not incite the blacks of Minneapolis to act as they did. This kind of story is trying to hide the plight of blacks in Minneapolis and claim their anger is false.

Dave Dubya said...

Anonymous,
Are you certain it was only one white supremacist?
There are multiple cases across the country.
I can't see how "this kind of story is trying to hide the plight of blacks in Minneapolis and claim their anger is false".
Should the truth about radical white agitators and criminals not be reported?

Anonymous said...

Are you sure these white supremist are dressing up as black agitators?

Are you asking this after checking ALL the sources cited above?

Anonymous is playing the "both sides" BS game again.

Anonymous wants to think deleted emails are an equal threat to national security as top secret hard copies scattered around a resort for anyone to see.

Anonymous doesn't know the secretary of state is given the authority to classify and declassify information at the “top secret” level. She had authority to decide what State Department information was classified or not.

Anonymous doesn't know many of the emails were retroactively classified AFTER she sent them.

Anonymous will ignore the fact Trump STOLE the documents and refused to return them.

Anonymous will ignore the seriousness of Chinese agents with thumb drives allowed into Mar-a-Lago.

Anonymous will ignore Trump showing guests top secret photos of military targets.

Anonymous will ignore the Russian-speaking woman posing as a "Rothschild" at Mar-a-Lago who posed for photos with Trump and Graham on a golf course.

Anonymous will ignore Trump giving secret intel to Russians IN THE OVAL OFFICE.

Anonymous will ignore the deference shown to Trump by several requests to return the documents, before finally enforcing the law.

His hero is a national security threat and insurrectionist traitor who attacked our democracy.

This is why he resorts to desperate deflections and false equivalence to cover for his beloved sinister savior.

He loves Trump more than America. He probably considers Trump the very embodiment of America. He thinks anyone against Trump is against America.

This is the sickening degree of deranged cult brainwashing they gobble up whatever garbage Trump and his radical Right media sycophants tell him.

"Hillary Clinton is disqualified from being the commander in chief of the United States," Rubio said. "In fact one of her first acts as president may well be to pardon herself. That's because Hillary Clinton stored classified information on her private server."

Anonymous doesn't see hypocrisy here because "if a Republican does it, that means its not illegal".

May I ask you about USA political matters?

What do you think about recent Biden's speach?

And, with an element of "trolling".

How that lays into your framework of "both sides doing it"?

Anonymous said...

Yes, I am asking. The sources you cite are questionable.

Dave Dubya said...

Foreigner,
My next post will feature some of Biden's speech. It will also contrast the former president with the present one.

The evidence is abundant that "both sides" are not equally responsible for hate, lies, and political violence.

Dave Dubya said...

Anonymous,
I asked, "Are you asking this after checking ALL the sources cited above?"

Your answer was:

"Yes, I am asking. The sources you cite are questionable."

So your answer is, "No. I didn't check any of the sources."

OK. This tells me you didn't bother to check out ANY source, because you trust only Republican propaganda and Right biased wing media.

You even reject the Wall Street Journal, part of the Murdoch media empire that includes FOX(R).

This is why I find your question and response insincere, dismissive, and questionable.

Maybe you need Donald Trump to tell you what is real?

Dave Dubya said...

FJ,

Um, thank you for your thoughtful question.

"MAGA Jew", eh? Yeah, the same thing happens to MAGA Blacks and MAGA Mexicans, or even MAGA Arabs.

They are all attracted to the stereotypical "strong man" leader. Sadly, it's been estimated at least a quarter of any population will tend to have an authoritarian personality.

There are two main types of authoritarian personalities. Followers and leaders. They revere power and the powerful, like Trump adores Putin.

They make up the toadies of the world, and their leaders. They are the bullies, bigots, thugs, racists, hate group sociopaths, all the way up to crooked lawyers and politicians who know how to manipulate and dupe their patsies and chumps.

No one can deny there aren't a lot of very rich authoritarians, and even sociopaths, out there. Trump is their kind of guy.

I'm guessing you're not likely to be the mewling Jared Kushner kind of MAGA Jew. Daddy-in-law made sure the guy got national security clearance, over the objections of all the experts who knew his conflicts of interests and unqualified status.

Then he went to grift the Saudis out of a couple $billion. Cha-Ching! It's who ya know, brother. (Maybe some of Trump's stolen secrets went over there with Jared?)

And you're probably not a rich criminal like his father, either.

So you would be the Stephen Miller type of MAGA Jew, I gather?

That little unctuous dude earned his cred as an honorary white nationalist. Alt-Right racist Richard Spencer confirmed his relationship with Miller, saying, “I knew him very well when I was at Duke. But I am kind of glad no one’s talked about this because I don’t want to harm Trump.”

L'chaim.

Well... that is very enticing to start to fight lies with lies.
And truth is always weaker than lies... in a short run. (((

\\They make up the toadies of the world, and their leaders. They are the bullies, bigots, thugs, racists, hate group sociopaths, all the way up to crooked lawyers and politicians who know how to manipulate and dupe their patsies and chumps.

If. If only that'll be truth. All and complete truth.

Thing is, there is lots of people. Scared, poor, disqualified. Who also see for a strong "savior".
And it time of troubles there are more people who become this way...

Dave Dubya said...

Foreigner,
Sadly cruelty and indifference to suffering are enduring negative human traits.

Yes, vulnerable, disenfranchised, persecuted or other suffering people will look for a leader to help them.

None of this applies to Trump supporters. Greedy billionaires, millionaires and low-information, uneducated or racist white people are his base. He won majorities of only white voters.

Victims of racism, bigotry and poverty are no concern for Trump and his party. Fair elections and fair representation are not what they want. They really want their minority rule. For that they scapegoat and demonize minorities or the disenfranchised. NEVER the rich and powerful, unless they don't vote for them, of course.

We know Trump would let Putin have all of Ukraine. Trump is still envious of Putin's power.

Every politician deviates from the truth. Some lies are more hateful and evil than other lies. Hitler's Big Lie about Jews. Trump's Big Lie about the election. Both were intended to divide and incite hate.

Both Hitler and Trump incited political violence that resulted in a "Putsch".

From just last week:

Biden:
"So let me say this to my MAGA Republican friends. Don’t tell me you support law enforcement if you won’t condemn what happened on the sixth. For god’s sake, whose side are you on? You can’t be pro-law enforcement and pro-insurrection."

Trump:
"I will tell you, I will look very, very favorably about full pardons. If I decide to run and if I win, I will be looking very, very strongly about pardons. Full pardons," Trump said on Wendy Bell Radio Thursday, adding: "We'll be looking very, very seriously at full pardons because we can't let that happen. ... And I mean full pardons with an apology to many."

“I am financially supporting people that are incredible and they were in my office actually two days ago, so they’re very much in my mind. It’s a disgrace what they’ve done to them. What they’ve done to these people is disgraceful.”

These are the thugs who Trump praised after watching them beat cops and terrorize congress for THREE hours on TV.

He told them, "You're special. We love you".
