Who Hates America?

Everyone has by now been indoctrinated by the Right Wing media and know that liberals hate America. They are destroying America. That’s what we were told when we questioned Bush and Cheney on their pack of lies for war in Iraq. That is what we are told when we dare support Obama. That is what we are told even if we don’t support Obama, because of his habit of appeasing the corporatist Right.

It is no secret except to the willfully uninformed or willingly duped that the Republicans are imposing a blockade on our federal government. Their obstruction will lead to lockdown. Why? Because the goal of the Guardians Of Plutocracy is to insure Obama fails at everything, including, and most importantly, his reelection. Mitch McConnell said, “The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president."

Their priority is clear, and it is not the interests of 98 percent of the American people. They work exclusively for the economic elite.

Not only are all domestic policies obstructed, even ones previously supported by Republicans until Obama agreed to them, but foreign policy is now held hostage. I’m not talking about unending war. That’s about the only area where the Reich Wingers will offer their “cooperation”. Of course, along with a national security surveillance state, that’s their agenda to begin with.

They no doubt love Obama’s defense of Bush’s un-constitutional “unitary executive” measures with the all time favorite justification used by totalitarians. “State secrets” is now our standard operating rationale for abuse of power during our national “state of emergency”. The same manure the Nazis used has now fertilized the ground for the growth of American fascism. Hitler was very anti-terrorist. And of course, terrorists were whoever he said were terrorists. He invoked state secrets and declared a state if emergency to protect the people. Just like Bush, and now Obama, has done.

So we see what matters most for bipartisanship is national security, despite its destruction of our freedoms. One may believe Republicans would be interested in protecting America from nuclear weapons. They must surely want to cooperate in restricting WMD’s from falling into hands of terrorists. Turns out they don’t care. At least they don’t care enough to support Obama’s efforts in negotiating a strategic arms treaty. No, it’s more important for Republicans to see Obama fail...at everything.

As Paul Krugman wrote this week:

These days, national security experts are tearing their hair out over the decision of Senate Republicans to block a desperately needed new strategic arms treaty. And everyone knows that these Republicans oppose the treaty, not because of legitimate objections, but simply because it’s an Obama administration initiative; if sabotaging the president endangers the nation, so be it.

It’s pretty obvious that the Republican Party would prefer America fails at everything as long as they can take down Obama. Why do Republicans hate America? Well, maybe they don’t hate America. Republicans just love power and wealth so much, and hate Obama so deeply; they really don’t care about the consequences for the rest of us.

They may as well hate America. Obama needs to find a spine like FDR and “welcome their hatred”. For the love of America.

As despicable as Senate Republicans are, I'm more pissed off at the spineless Democrats and the millions of dumber-than-dirt voters who keep falling for rightwing propaganda.

Republican politicians are what they are; you can't get mad at a rattlesnake for being poisonous, or your neighbor's cat for killing birds.

But Democrats need to stand up and quit cowering. Nobody likes a bully, but nobody has much sympathy for his victims either.

And every American citizen needs to learn how to think critically and see through propaganda. I don't care what a person's political opinions are, as long as those opinions were formed through rational thought processes instead of parroting what they heard on talk radio.

So and so "hates America," "government takeover!" "not a Real American" -- yup, you can just see the deep thoughts that led to these and other ubiquitous slogans.

Tom,
No we shouldn't get mad at rattlsnakes because they are poisonous. We SHOULD get mad at them for taking over the House, though.

I enjoyed your post. I agree with your assessment of the Republicans. If they ever had any credibility it is long since dead. They have shown their hand, and it is cold, greedy and laser focused on maintaining a chasm between the aristocracy and the serfs.

I supported and voted for Obama because he promised change. Unfortunately, I haven't seen much of it. I don't blame him for what he could not accomplish under such blindness and hatred from the opposition. But I very much hold him accountable for putting the same guys Bush and Cheney handpicked in charge of the most important issues, and for continuing the worst of those policies - especially with regard to the destruction of civil liberties and prolonged unnecessary war (moving it from Iraq to Afghanistan doesn't make it any better). I fear that the Republicans and the Democrats ultimately work for the same pimps. That is why things don't change much.

You go, Dave!

My major fear about Obama is that he has listened to the wrong people for so long (and reaped personal rewards for this) that he doesn't really understand who those people are and why they have sold out the ideals he campaigned on.

If he continues to stand with Geithner, Summers, Gates and Petreus, I fear that whatever the Rethugs do after winning in 2012 will only be worse by degree.

And we'll never close Guantanamo, and new prisoners caught in "terroristic" activities (like reporting the facts on the web) will be sent there with no right of redress as a danger to those in charge.

But how to educate the uneducable?

Love ya.

Peace.

Let me see if I understand you.

Bush sucks.....Hes lower then low.

Obama...continues Bush's policies.

Ergo...Obama sucks.

but....

Because he wants a treaty he doesnt suck, except when you say he sucks which is most of the time...

Yet Obama is continuing the Bush agenda so he sucks but Republicans want him to fail because Republicans really dont like their own agenda which Obama is continuing. Therefor They would rather derail the Bush Agenda because its now run by Obama then they would to see their agenda passed which means Republicans are now Democrats and vice versa.

I think I got it.

Now I understand why Obama and you guys blame Bush for Everything. Obama is really "W" in disguise.

Its all so clear now.

Dave Dubya said...

Anonymous,
Sorry, but no, you don’t understand me. Obama’s worst policies are mostly Bush’s. Everything else is obstructed by Republicans. Hard for you to understand, is it? Your cute little mental loop even suggests both Obama and Bush kindly tended the big banks and military industrial complex. (Look up Eisenhower)

You also don’t understand “why Obama and you guys”, whoever we are, “blame Bush for Everything”. First, Obama doesn’t “blame Bush for Everything”. Second, I don’t “blame Bush for Everything”. Third, I don’t blame Obama for Everything. (That’s what you do.)

I do blame Right Wing crony Supreme Court Justices for destroying democracy in 2000. I do blame Cheney, Rove, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, Gonzalez, Libby, ad nauseam for war crimes, exposing a clandestine operative, illegal detention without charge and counsel, torture, and illegal wiretapping, along with many other violations of our laws and Constitutional rights.

And I blame you, and every other authoritarian liar who shills for your economic elite masters. I blame every corrupt, greed-headed, Right Wing authoritarian who would never even think to care what happens to most Americans.

Do we detect by your dull-witted repetition, or subconscious obsession, with “sucks”, and your utterly illogical dissembling, that you do not appear to be a stranger here, Anonymous?

We do understand you, and you have said nothing.

Oh no you got me wrong. I think Obama is a great man who is just misunderstood.

In his biography of Obama, “The Bridge,” David Remnick, editor of The New Yorker, quotes White House senior adviser and longtime Obama friend Valerie Jarrett: “I think Barack knew that he had God-given talents that were extraordinary. He knows exactly how smart he is. … He knows how perceptive he is. He knows what a good reader of people he is. And he knows that he has the ability — the extraordinary, uncanny ability — to take a thousand different perspectives, digest them and make sense out of them, and I think that he has never really been challenged intellectually. … So what I sensed in him was not just a restless spirit but somebody with such extraordinary talents that had to be really taxed in order for him to be happy. … He’s been bored to death his whole life. He’s just too talented to do what ordinary people do.”

All us stupid voters just dont get it. Us stupid hillbillies who just can't fathom the intellect that is running this country.

We are stupid. I am stupid for not understanding and the voters are stupid for not understanding that its all those evil fascist Republicans and ME personally who is destroying America because we sorta kinda like to have jobs and stuff.

Lots of stuff, and we know that stuff is bad for us. As the Master of the Universe proclaimed a while back there comes a time when you got enough shit.....stop seeking after shit and give it to me so I have more shit. You know like spending 200 mil to fly half the democrats to india. Or sending his wife on a massive shopping spree in Spain when the rest of us cant afford walmart.

Cause we all know the only reason Obama ran for president is cause his shit dont stink and us stupid voters shit does stink so he wants to sanitize our shit so that your shit and my shit is clean shit.

Im pretty much shit out of luck as I stare at no job, no house and no money but its Fox News fault that my shit was repo'd.

Aint that the shitz?

It's unfortunate you can't see that FOX(R) and Fiends, along with most corporate media, are tight with the real powers that have dismantled our manufacturing base and shipped jobs overseas.

Some of us are smart enough to blame Democrats as well. The junior corporatist partners of the Guardians Of Plutocracy are guilty of working for Big Money too.

Sorry you lost your job. I hope you get another one soon.

Frankly, I think a good case of government gridlock for the next two years would be a good thing.

I have seen the results when both parties try to "fix" things. I'd just as soon see that nothing get done.

At least there would be some stability and predictability so that businesses could start hiring people again without fear of more regulation, taxation, or other un-Constitutional mandates placed upon them like Obamacare.

I think it was Twain that also said something to the effect that "No man's liberties are safe when congress is in session."

Frankly, the idea of two years of gridlock is not a positive thing. The fact that conservatives say this shows they have no interest in governing, unless they are the ones doing it. Without the WH, they are simply willing to sit back, block everything, and then criticize the WH for not doing enough to address the nation's problems.

The media has been so bamboozled by the right, that it repeats this crap on a daily basis.

No one would use a doctor who wanted to bring down modern medicine, and no one would hire a lawyer who didn't care about the law and actively sought to thwart it. Yet, it seems that the right tries to elect people to government who hate the idea of governing and of government itself.

TP,
It's tempting to agree with you that gridlock would be desirable. Unfortunately gridlock will not dig us out this mess. I'm not sure what will, but doing nothing in order to insure Obama's defeat is NOT the answer. We needed gridlock when Clinton and the GOP signed NAFTA and repealed Glass/Steagall. We needed gridlock when Bush raped our economy and built a police state. I'm afraid that horse is out of the barn now. We need to do something constructive. Besides, the government needs to continue its vital functions. Complete gridlock would be chaos; which suits the GOP fine as long as it takes down Obama. That is the entire point of our rant.

I give our friend TP credit for not being rude, dishonest, and insulting as many Righties tend to be. His beliefs have been long nurtured by FOX(R) and Limbaugh. I commend his interest in reading what we have to say and welcome his comments. TP also agrees with our opposition to CU v. FEC and corporate personhood. I think he wants to be, and often is, reasonable. He is simply prone to repeating the typical FOX(R) Limbaugh koolade he's been exposed to for so long. He believes in the myth of "liberal media" and trusts Right Wing media. It is difficult to question one's own beliefs and sources of information that claim special "values" and moral superiority over the rest of us.

TP is lucky he doesn't know what it's like to be ordered to train the Asian person about to take your job. My wife does. And she understands why, as well.

Unfortunately the GOP is using intelligence, malevolent and dishonest as it may be, in order to gain their objective. Their objective is power and total control of our government, not solutions to problems, and certainly not the interests of most Americans.

They know power is taken, not negotiated.

But of course its Bush's fault cause it cant be Obama's fault. Hes only been in office 2 years so how could it be His fault. I mean after all the GOP has been in power 20 of the last 65 years but its them fascist Publicans fault.

They was in power in the Senate 14 of the last 65 years but its their fault.

Excellent summation of the situation, Dave. Everyone who's not a hopeless-case racist wing nut or willing dupe of corporate America (attention independents, ahem) needs to understand Republicans are obsessed with greed and selfishness. They want money and total power, and they don't care who or what they damage or destroy in their quest to get both. That melds nicely with Wall Street and corporate attitudes, doesn't it?

Your last paragraph makes clear what's needed. Please, go to the White House Web site and send Obama a message to that effect. If we all do that, maybe the buzz will get back to him, even though he reportedly only reads 15 letters or e-mails a day.

Have a nice Thanksgiving.

Anonymous makes a valid point that our politics are dysfunctional. Beyond that, he's intent on not blaming the antagonists.

Dave, where you, me and a whole lot of liberals chime in is that Democrats do their part to make things more dysfunctional when they behave like spineless wimps. Our country needs a good political brawl, and you can't have that when one side chooses to hide under the table.

Anonymous wrote: "The problem is that we got a president who is smarter then all of us. He wants to tax the air we breathe, so no ones hiring. . ."

You need to find a reputable news source and become better informed by people who don't lie and distort for a living. (That means finding something other than FOX, Limbaugh, Beck and their ilk.)

Obama and Congressional Democrats have passed more than 100 tax cuts of various sizes and kinds in the past two years. Those cuts benefit all taxpayers, especially the nonwealthy, and businesses, especially small businesses. Now, you better sit down for this next because it has the potential to replace the bliss of ignorance with uncomfortable truth: Obama has not increased taxes. Not any. No.Tax.Increase. Period.

BTW, Anon, a hat tip to you for doing what you can, working at McDonald's. Dealing with the public across a counter isn't always a pleasant, especially in bad times. It's not back-breaking work, but it can be tiring and stressful. It's honest work, and I respect it, respect that you're doing what you can.

Don't feel demeaned by taking that job, just hang in. Better days are coming. I hope you have a good Thanksgiving.

My comments about wishing for gridlock having nothing to do with thwarting Obama per se. Frankly, he has made himself irrelevant.

I simply think that with the abysmal and often un-constitutional legislation passed in the last congress, getting nothing more passed from either side of the politcal aisle might be the breather we need for awhile.

I am not a strict ideologue that supports a position simply because the idiot GOP does. I agree with Dubya on Nafta, Citizens United and probably a few other major items. I look at each issue individually. If only all voters would do the same!

Further, Susan, I would argue as would many of our founders that the purpose of our federal government is to protect our Constitutional rights and NOT to expand its own power through over-reach into every facet of our lives.

"You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich. You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong. You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift. You cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down. You cannot further brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred. You cannot build character and courage by taking away people's initiative and independence. You cannot help people permanently by doing for them, what they could and should do for themselves" ~ Abraham Lincoln

As for Limbaugh, well he often articulates what I have always thought; he doesn't tell me what to think. I do watch Fox News. I also watch MS-NBC and read the NY Times. There have even been rare occasions when I agree with Keith Olbermann.

My opinions are not based on talk radio or what Fox News tells me to think. They are based on reading and research from our founders, reading the Constitution, the Federalist Papers, Locke, Kant, Lafayette, Montesquei, Jefferson, Adams, Madison, and even Thomas Paine etc.

If that makes me an idiot, than I guess I am, and so our many of the far more brilliant people than I would ever hope to be that happened to found the greatest nation on earth in the entire history of mankind.

By the way, I am curious as to why you characterized me as "smug", ma'am?

Dubya, if I don't get back here before tommorow, I hope you and yours have a blessed Thanksgiving with much for which to be thankful, sir!

Unknown said...

Well Paine, bless your rightwing ass for that and I hope you have a very nice long weekend sir.I sincerely mean that.

S.W. Anderson said...

Paine, that Lincoln quote is dramatic, eloquent and a straw man argument in the context of today's situation.

No one I know of suggests destroying the rich, making the strong weak or discouraging thrift. Indeed, one of the many things I hold against George W. Bush and his cracked team of jack-leg economists is that they made it government policy to encourage consumers to go right on spending, even though personal and family indebtedness was already at recklessly high levels.

Pulling the wage payer down is another matter. The CEO of United Health knocked down a tidy $700 million-plus in seven years. That happened while his company severed coverage for increasing numbers of paid-up customers and engaged in outrageous practices that should've been grounds for criminal prosecution. And, wasn't it United Health that was raking in 30 percent profits?

There's a wage payer who richly deserves some pulling down. There's plenty more throughout our economy.

Greed and excess have gotten out of hand in America, and it's taken a terrible toll on 90 percent of the population. On no scale of ethics, justice or reason is that called for or right.

There's something you and others on the right had better reckon with. For every action there's an equal (at least) and opposite reaction. The closest our country ever came to a serious problem with communism was during the Great Depression. Which is to say in the wake of a costly, dispiriting war, three laissez-faire Republican administrations and a catastophic economic collapse — the latter two being marked by outrageous greed and excess of the corporate, wealthy investor and Wall Street bankster kind.

You evidently think an Ayn Randian system of economic Darwinism, every man, woman and child for themselves, is what you want. Think in terms of history, in terms of what that would surely lead to in reaction, and you might decide a system that mixes socialism with free enterprise, reasonable freedom of action with prudent oversight and regulation, is better for all in the long run.

You might not have CEO's making $100 million a year for screwing over people and getting away with doing that. You certainly wouldn't have millions working 40-, 50- hours and longer work weeks and still being poor. And worse, you wouldn't have 1.5 million or more people out of work with no job opportunity in sight.

Going by the countries that have adopted such mixed systems, whose people tell pollsters they feel happier and more secure than most Americans say they are, there's much to recommend the approach.

After the poor harvest of 1622, writes Bradford, “they began to think how they might raise as much corn as they could, and obtain a better crop.” They began to question their form of economic organization.

This had required that “all profits & benefits that are got by trade, working, fishing, or any other means” were to be placed in the common stock of the colony, and that, “all such persons as are of this colony, are to have their meat, drink, apparel, and all provisions out of the common stock.” A person was to put into the common stock all he could, and take out only what he needed.

This “from each according to his ability, to each according to his need” was an early form of socialism, and it is why the Pilgrims were starving. Bradford writes that “young men that are most able and fit for labor and service” complained about being forced to “spend their time and strength to work for other men’s wives and children.”

Also, “the strong, or man of parts, had no more in division of victuals and clothes, than he that was weak.” So the young and strong refused to work and the total amount of food produced was never adequate.

All across Europe they are rioting in the streets cause them dayum govment types wanna raise prices and cut services.

Sooner or later many of those Right Wingers will be out looking for jobs. And they will blame Obama, of course. It's their duty as followers of their authoritarian leaders.

As to Anon,

Statist? I bet you learned that new word from Rush.

Stupid voters? Well maybe. Certainly many of them are. Although I wonder what term best describes those voters who are blind to the fact that Big Money and their bought and paid for politicians are taking us down the road to unending war, an extinct middle class, and a police state.

Why do they feel more threatened by health care reform and restoring previous tax rates for the economic elite? I can only guess they are very frightened of the word socialism and oblivious to the word fascism. They are indoctrinated, of course, very much like cult members. Beck, Limbaugh and FOX(R) have done their job.

I can just see the pure delight and twinkle in Anon’s eye when he reported that Martinez registered with the Green Party. I guess that proves the Green Party is a terrorist organization. Well, maybe not, but it certainly proves hot-headed liberals are more dangerous than cold bloodied conservatives.

Since non-violence is a tenet of the Green Party I don’t see Martinez having any more association with the Green Party. Recently convicted Tom Delay (R) will always be a Republican, I’m sure.

But still that’s got to be proof liberals are more dangerous than conservatives, Right? Unless you want to get so nit picky about the bleeding dead bodies those good conservatives leave behind. Yes in their minds they are good conservatives.

Good conservative Jim David Adkisson committed two counts of murder in a church in Tennessee. He also wounded six others at the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church in Knoxville. Police found books and material in his home by Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Michael Savage, and Bill O’Reilly.

On April 4, 2009 Richard Poplawski, the good sociopathic conservative without a conscience, murdered three cops in Pittsburgh. Poplawski’s racist head was filled with crap like Beck’s poisonous lies about Obama coming to take his guns away from him.

On June 10, 2009 James Von Brunn, another good conservative became the Holocaust Memorial Museum gunman.

Then there was good conservative Scott Roeder, the bomb making assassin, who murdered a doctor in cold blood while in church.

We remember good conservative Byron Williams on his Glenn Beck inspired mission to gun down Tides Foundation staff.

And not least there was Good Christian conservative Tim McVeigh, who blew away scores of innocent people.

It's those librools though, I tells ya. They’s the real trouble makers. Just ask Rush, Hannity, Savage, and Anonymous. Maybe they won't get so uppity if good conservatives stomp more liberal heads to the curb. That day is coming. Mark my words. Oh, it already has? Well soon enough it will be encouraged by the American Fourth Reich. We gotta teach them traitorous commies a lesson.

Right, Anon?

Where ya seem to totally miss the entire gist of what I said is that Ms. Martinez was the chief of staff elect for a democratic congressman of Florida.

All of those people you listed are just plain nuts, whackos and have nothing to do with mainstream anything in this country. They are the reason we have the death penalty in this country.

Ed Schultz said Democrats should cheat and vote multiple times to keep the "Bastards" outta office.

Randi Rhoads fired off a pistol on her show when telling us that we needed to stop George W. Bush's trampling of the constitution.

No outrage by the left on that one. But when the right grows angry over Obama's polices why of course were homophobes and racists.

You have a purdy little speech all nice and prepared for every contingency. Why I bet you have posted that speech a 1000 times in the last several years. I bet you had to sit up hours researching all those mass murderers and thugs in order to find ya 5 or 6 whackos to then use to Label the entire right side of the political Isle as mindless killers who march to Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck.

Funny thing that. Just back in 2005 Glenn Beck was hailed as a hero by the left for his villification of George W. Bush.

My how times change when YOUR GUY is in the White House. Now suddenly the same message of presidential over reach he threw at Bush was AWESOME but is now SPEWING HATE when its directed at OBAMA....

Who

as you say

is continuing

George W. Bush's policies.

And you wonder why us stupid voters threw out the democrats.

Anonymous, One more time.

You deny reality as usual. When one always sides with the rich and powerful the truth does not matter.

None of those “good conservatives” I mentioned were mental patents. They were all politically motivated Right Wing terrorists, no different from al-Qaeda. While their religion is different, they share the same kind of self-righteous hatred. And they all listened to your heroes and were inspired by them. There message is “Liberals are Marxists out to destroy America.” “They have no family values.” “Take the bastards out.” “Take back our country.” “If ballots don’t work bullets will.” When you preach hatred long enough, someone will act on it. And then there’s the kicker, “Of course I don’t advocate violence...” So that makes it all right, eh?

The hatred from the Right has been growing stronger every year in this country. Policy is never really the issue. It is about inciting anger against those that dare question a corporatist police state. Beck and Limbaugh need to continue the fascist indoctrination that the corporate media is liberal. Oh, wait, The corporate media magically transformed immediately after Obama was elected from “liberal media” to “State-run media”. Orwell called you guys on that tune years ago. I guess there’s no more profit motive for GE, News Corp, Time/Warner, CBS, Disney, and Viacom now that they are “state run”. It is journalism the Right hates. Journalism has been the enemy of the American Right Wing since Nixon. And you Righties have gone so radical you would be calling Nixon a Commie appeasing socialist if he was here now.

The Right Wing propagandists have demonized liberals, and any dissent from the corporatist, militarist police state agenda, for decades now. Big Money has the loudest voice in corporate media. Not that you could ever acknowledge that. You’re just another pipsqueak in the peanut gallery, but you loyally echo the Authoritarian Right message as forcefully as “Good conservative Germans” did in the 1930’s.

You insult our intelligence by comparing Beck’s criticisms of Obama and Bush. He incites hatred and anger by saying Obama is a “racist with deep seated hatred for white people”, and gets a pay raise. What the hell message do you think that sends? He is a fascist. Limbaugh is a fascist. Why? Because they echo the same hateful lies fascists did in Germany and Italy. Race baiting, scapegoating minorities, and falsely accusing opponents as “Marxists who are destroying the country” is exactly what Nazis did. Sounds like your kind of people.

The American Fourth Reich cannot win support of the people on issues. They must lie and demonize opposition. History has shown the best tactic to do so is to incite anger, fear and hatred. Nothing is out of bounds when it comes to supporting Big Money and Right Wing power. You do your part.

You seem to have a lot of time to argue. Maybe you could use some of that extra time at another job to supplement your “seven buks” an hour burger-flipping job, as if that were even true. Why should we believe you?

One more point. I won’t waste any more of my time exchanging words with someone who does not have the guts to even identify himself. From now on Anonymous comments get one response from me.

Darrell Michaels said...

Dubya, a few things in regards to your response to Anonymous...

You castigate Limbaugh, Beck et al for inciting violence. THAT, sir, is nonsense! Criticizing someone's policies and behaviors on substance is NOT the equivalent of calling for violence.

Now reasonable people can argue, I suppose, on whether what President Obama says or does is socialist/Marxist etc or not, but that is a far cry from calling for rising up against him in violence.

I cannot even tell you how often I hear Beck, in particular, specifically say to his listeners/viewers NOT to engage in any violence whatsoever as it hurts the conservative position and credibility, let alone the "minor" fact that it is morally wrong.

Violence should not be condoned regardless of the perpetrator or target.

Further, despite protestations to the contrary, there are absolutely groups on the left that explicitly advocate for violence though. See one of my recent posts, if you will excuse my impertinence in linking back to my blog, sir:

http://savingcommonsense.blogspot.com/2010/11/code-pink-and-pax-christi-join-in-war.html

I would add such groups as the New Black Panthers and some members of SEIU which have already beaten people that had the audacity to stand up against them to the list of such violent leftist groups.

I further suspect that the Earth Liberation Front and Animal Liberation Front also have little sympathy if people are hurt or were to be killed in their arson and other such criminal acts they conduct in furthering their agenda.

The bottom line is that violent "fascists" can be found on both extremes of the political spectrum. Neither should ever be tolerated by a civilized nation.

Hope your Thanksgiving was good, Dubya, and that you were able to enjoy not only turkey, but perhaps some Wild Turkey as well, my friend! Cheers!

Dave Dubya said...

Hi, TP,
I had a great Thanksgiving and hope you did as well.

Listen, I did not “castigate Limbaugh, Beck et al for inciting violence”. I said they incite anger, fear and hatred, not violence. I even pointed out their tactic of disavowing violence after the said emotional responses were seeded.

In fact they do spend most of their message on ad hominum character attacks. Beck called Obama “a racist with deep seated hatred for white people”. Don’t you get that? That, sir, is NOT criticizing policy. Ditto for Limbaugh’s “Marxist” and “Socialist” ad hominum attacks. These terms are not used with the intent to inform, but to deceive. They are false. No reasonable person calls Obama a Socialist Marxist without a Right Wing political agenda. Those terms are used for one purpose only, to inflame anger and fear. In fact, reasonable people are more justified calling Bush/Cheney and their hate mongers fascists, than they would be justified in calling Obama a Marxist.

Let’s disregard the crushing blow dealt to democracy by Bush’s appointment to the White House by Supreme Court cronyism. Bush’s war based on falsehoods, draconian illegal surveillance, indefinite detention without charge or counsel, and torture are much more in line with totalitarianism than Obama’s bank and auto bailouts, and insurance company-friendly “Romneycare”. Even TARP put money into businesses pockets and provided tax breaks for all. This is not Marxism by any stretch, unless you insist that rebuilding my road is Marxism. Only the extremist Right Wingers with a political agenda for power push this nonsense. Even Ron Paul said Obama is a corporatist, not a socialist. No corporatist is a Marxist and no Marxist is a corporatist. Let it go.

I see you have a couple straw man arguments again for the “violent left”. Sorry, no comparison. There is simply no comparison between the numbers of people stomped, clubbed and killed by corporate goons than by your mythical Limbaugh tagged “union thugs”. Notice Limbaugh cannot mention the word union without “thug”. Why? So we find it easy to hate them, of course. I’ve yet to hear one liberal telling us to hate the Rand Paul thug who stomped a woman’s head, and that libertarians are thugs.

Just imagine if your two “New Black Panthers” had millions, or thousands, or even hundreds of followers beating people on the street. Then you’d have a point. They didn’t even so much as deny anyone their right to vote, but they sure made a scary picture to stir up angry white guys. They were not even real Black Panthers. They were pretenders much like a Republican in an SS uniform. Very scary images, indeed.

This debate is over. The body count is the final score. The same is true over the Obama/Marxist Bush/Fascist debate. The dead speak volumes by their silence.

I see the sensationalized message in your link. “code-pink-and-pax-christi-join-in-war”. War? Really? This insults our dead veterans and the hundreds of thousands of dead Iraqis and Afghanis.

I can’t help but think it more than possible that you work for an energy company and you believe you are defending your livelihood by defending the Giant Oil Party.

Beliefs are one thing. Lies are another.

Mr. Anonymous reeks of oil or insurance money. I have no doubt he is a corporate suit and not a McDonalds worker. On that I’d bet you dollars to donuts.

They deceive. They always have and always will. Period.

I'd feel bad for the anonymous dude if he were indeed a real person and not a made up caricture from the mind of a deluded right wing fool.

And a question for Mr. Paine:

When will righties like yourself tire of using "The intent of the Founding Fathers" as a bolster to your ideas?

John Adams and Alexander Hamilton had different views than Thomas Jefferson. George Washington warned of the very foreign entanglements that oyur hero Bush engaged in.

Darrell Michaels said...

Dubya, you obviously didn't GO to the link but simply read the link I had attached; the full title of the posting was "Code Pink and Pax Christi Join in War PROTESTS".

You were a little quick to judge without looking at the whole story, sir. (Something that a lot of folks often do, particularly on the left.)

And for the record, I do not work for an oil company. I am an RF Engineer and design and optimize wireless phone networks for a living. For the last ten years I have been working for one of the smaller nation-wide service providers.

As for Anonymous, I have no reason to believe that he is anything other than what he claims to be at this point. Truth be told, neither do you have any substantive evidence to contradict that either, sir.

Lord Truth, you are absolutely correct sir. Further, the arguing and partisanship found amongst some of our founders makes todays politicians look tame in comparison. That being said, they all were able to ultimately come together when it most counted.

The Declaration of Independence was critical to have no dissenting votes upon it, and there were none. Only New York was foolish enough to abstain from voting for it.

The founders also came together, with Madison and Hamilton in particular, to draft and ratify what is perhaps the most magnificent document man has ever created in the form of the U.S. Constitution. Too bad we have not followed all of its dictates for a century or more now.

Yes, I understand there were differences amongst the founders, but the core principles were often in alignment, particularly on the big things. Those that dissented even then, often did so on principle and thus created balance or helped to dampen excesses that the majority might have otherwise wished for accordingly.

As for George W. Bush not following Washington's advice, well he also didn't follow his own advice on that either.

If you will recall during his first campaign, he said he had no desire to get involved with "nation-building" and foreign entanglements. His views obviously changed after 9/11.

TP,

I have had long exchanges with this Anonymous person. He refuses to identify himself because he has peddled a long string of hateful lies. Although I can’t prove where he works, my offer to bet dollars to donuts stands. Wait. Donuts are getting expensive. I’ll bet dollars to peanuts this person does not work at McDonalds. He is a liar. Trust me.

Just a couple months ago he left with this little threat. “Thanks Dubya. I got what I wanted. Some nice quotes to include in letters to editors to about 250 papers.”

Here’s another taste of his comments:

“I am pretty sure I have found a communist who quotes Lenin a 1000 times a day. Those of you reading should try having a mind of your own rather then listen to the rants of this far left progressive whacko.”

“There is class warfare going on but it is the democratic party who keeps the poor in perpetual poverty.”

“Thanks again for showing the far left as drooling, mindless dolts....Thanks again and Toodles I shall not be back.”

*
He called me an “East German/Russian KGB, Anti-American, raving lunatic, Jew hating, God hating, skinhead, communist Muslim truther pretending to actually care about the constitution and civil rights”.

Nice guy, eh? I commented, “Anonymous fits the classic mold of the Right Wing Authoritarian personality. He is the lying hateful face of American Fascism. But something tells me we will meet again.”

I could offer many more examples of his vile bile. My prediction came true. He came back. He is a liar. And a rude one at that.

You’re right; I was too quick to judge. I apologize for not reading your post before dismissing it. I have read it now. Man, that picture is enough to make me hate Code Pink. That’s sure to make a Rightie burn with anger at those treasonous women.

Does Code Pink “support the right to murder American troops”? Could this possibly be true? Or is it simply too good to be true for the haters?

This is another example of the Right’s fascist tendency to scapegoat and demonize dissent in order to create a threat of “enemies within”.

Perhaps you were also “a little quick to judge without looking at the whole story”.

The picture is Photoshopped. I warned you they lie.

Here’s a good analysis of the slimy hate tactic.

Oh, and Bush talked about having the "chance to invade" before he took office. Richard Clarke wrote about Bush demanding he find a way to link 9-11 with Saddam.

They wanted war with Iraq before they had the White House stolen for them by their crony SC Justices.
