I paraphrase a Republican talking head from during the time of the previous administration:

“Womp Womp”

TB3,

Remember his outrage over being "indicated"?

Being "convicticated" could blow a fuse.

Today was a good day for America.

Dave Miller said...

Today Mr Trump faced the music that in the past Franklin Graham applied to President Clinton when he argued his "private moral failings" disqualified Clinton from the presidency.

Here's what he said...

",,,the God of the Bible says that what one does in private does matter.

If he [Clinton] will lie to or mislead his wife and daughter, those with whom he is most intimate, what will prevent him from doing the same to the American public?

Private conduct does have public consequences.

Mr. Clinton’s sin can be forgiven, but he must start by admitting to it and refraining from legalistic doublespeak. According to the Scripture, the president did not have an “inappropriate relationship” with Monica Lewinsky–he committed adultery. He didn’t “mislead” his wife and us–he lied.

Acknowledgment must be coupled with genuine remorse. A repentant spirit that says, “I’m sorry. I was wrong. I won’t do it again. I ask for your forgiveness,” would go a long way toward personal and national healing."

I agreed then, and I agree now with Franklin's words. I called on President Clinton to resign when all this came out because I believe he sullied the office of the presidency.

President Trump, like Clinton, has also sullied the office of the presidency. He too should forfeit his right to be president, for the good of our country.

America deserves better. We must demand better candidates. Even if it means rejecting our currently chosen candidates.

The GOP should immediately reject Trump and choose another candidate. Then Biden, with his raison d'etre being gone, should step aside a la Johnson in 1968 and his party should name a new candidate.

We still have plenty of time for both parties to do what's right for America. Sadly though, I do not sense any urge to consider what's best for our country from either candidate or their respective parties.

Shaw,
With so many crooked Republican judges and legislators, we are lucky to have some brave public servants with the courage and conviction to hold the Crime Boss accountable.

May justice continue to prevail over the malevolent mendacious messiah of American neo-Nazi white nationalism.

Dave,
We're not learning anything here, really. We have known all along that moral character and basic human decency mean NOTHING to the criminal and crooked party of Trump.

Clinton betrayed more than just Hillary. I was fed up with his "triangulating" appeasement of corporate interests and his cruel and over-reaching crime bill.

Hunter S. Thompson called him "the best Republican president in decades".

CAN ANYONE PROVIDE A LIST OF CRIMES TRUMP WAS CHARGED WITH AND FOUND GUILTY?

So this is what fascism looks like.

Anonymous,
34 counts of falsifying business records intended to interfere with the 2016 election.

You're welcome.

J6 was what fascism looks like.

Here are what a fascist's words look like:

We will Root out the Communists, Marxists, Fascists, and Radical Left Thugs that live like vermin within the confines of our country…
They’re poisoning the blood of our country. That’s what they’ve done.
Just a quick reminder for liberal Jews who voted to destroy America and Israel because you believed false narratives!
Let's hope you learned from your mistake and make better choices moving forward!
Any Jewish person that votes for Democrats hates their religion.
Would you rather have the Black president or the white president?
I think they want the white guy.
Hitler did a lot of good things.- Donald Trump

The frustrating part of the parroting on the Right about 'What are even the crimes' 'Show me the list of crimes' 'What did he do?' is that... this has been going on for a while. Publicized louder and wider than most trials.

Before anyone puts in their plea, they are read the charges against them and they are given the opportunity to acknowledge that they understand what they are being charged with before they put in their plea.

It's also all public record.

https://www.manhattanda.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/Donald-J.-Trump-Indictment.pdf

This was put before a grand jury and then a jury. We're not playing football here. The vastness and depth of the apparent, alleged, and numerous conspiracies against a blatantly terrible person are comical. And yet the Right, the Right-Wing Grifters, the Right-Wing Trolls... just dig in their heels. How many opportunities have they been given to pivot?

This isn't Football. It's okay. Your threw your hat in with Donald Trump. Just take your hat back and find someone else to back. Maybe someone not obviously a criminal, sex offender, liar, and sinner?

TB3,
Their whiny demands to "show" them what is widely known is their feeble attempt to empower themselves over us.

It's their weak attempt to show us their beliefs are more important and stronger than facts and reality.

It just makes them look like idiots. And the fact they can't see this proves the point.

As I keep saying, "A cult isn't a cult to the cult".

Trump is their savior. To forsake, contradict, or deny their malevolent mendacious messiah is an unpardonable mortal sin in their cult.

T**** finally got 100% of the vote!

As an aside, the dark, troubling comedy that the last 8 years have been has given us numerous ironies. The same type of people calling for people to riot or start a civil war or to punish the straw-stuffed, ethereal Liberal boogeyman all "forget" that they chanted with glee and zeal "Lock her up" not too terribly long ago.

Dave Dubya said...

TB3,
Exactly!
Their howls about "lawfare" and "weaponized law enforcement" are nothing but projection of their own fascism.
If they had their way, they'd have a civil war and the entire Democratic Party and their voters would be shot or locked up in camps.
No term fits these white nationalists better than "neo-Nazis". Henceforth this is what I will call them.
I recall it wasn't that long ago I was criticized for using that term for them. Not so much any more.

Dave Dubya said...

Vern,
Use an ID and I might post and answer your questions if they are reasonable and fair.

Demanding to know the charges after being already told won't cut it.

What witness wasn't "allowed"? Do you know what you're even talking about? It sounds like regurgitated meaningless blather of Trump's toadies.

If you don't think it was a fair trial despite Trump's own defense agreeing to all 12 of the jurors, you have some explaining to do.

I want to see the verifiable facts and evidence that support your claim.

I'm quite confident you have neither the ability nor inclination to to do so. Good faith discussion has NEVER been your approach to dialogue.

You got proof he won in 2020? Didn't think so.

Trump tried to CANCEL the votes of 81 million American voters, including mine, making him a criminal and enemy of our democracy.

Attacking our election integrity and democracy with lies will do the opposite of improving American lives.

Dave Dubya said...

NO more Anonymous posts, Vern.

Especially ludicrous crap like "Trump knew nothing" of the payments to Daniels. I thought you believed Cohen was a liar? He did admit to his lies.
Oh, and Trump SIGNED THE CHECKS and his voice was RECORDED talking about it.

The judge has 34 convictions to decide penalty. Jail seems definite.

Dave Dubya said...

Anonymous,
Trump certainly deserves jail. I would understand and accept probation with travel restrictions and home arrest would be appropriate for a first time offense, but when we add his chronic contempt of court behavior, I say lock him up. He is defying our justice system and rule of law and believes he is immune to accountability under the law.

Such leniency should be out of the question for his more serious federal offenses.

He's a lifelong spoiled brat who needs a spanking.

Les Carpenter said...

A lifelong narcissist, con, AND spoiled brat. Regardless the sentence or severity of it, trump will remain without remorse. Because of his over inflated ego, feelings of superiority, and therefore his deep feelings of entitlement to do whatever and however he pleases.

Dave Dubya said...

Les,
Agreed. But you left out "sociopath" and "convicted felon".

There's no cure for the former, but there ARE measures to be taken for the latter.
