The Marginalized Majority

Maybe you’ve noticed a few things about our nation's current political landscape.

Nobody complains more about being marginalized than conservatives.

Nobody complains more about their voices being unheard than conservatives.

Nobody demands to “take our country back” more than conservatives.

Nobody claims to be “real Americans”, and vilifies opponents for “hating America” more than conservatives.

Nobody howls about “rigged elections” more than conservatives.

Nobody believes Trump’s Big Lie about a stolen election more than conservatives. This will encourage the radical Right to deny the results of every election they lose.

But what are the facts, besides the obvious one that Biden won the election?

The facts tell us who really are the truly marginalized Americans in our so-called representative democratic republic.

They are not conservatives. And they are not the minority.

The majority of Americans voted for the Democrat in 7 of the last 8 presidential elections.

Through wild and convoluted gerrymandering, Republicans have been in the majority in the House of Representatives for four of the past six congresses, despite the fact Democrats have won more total votes in four of the six past midterm elections.

50 Democratic Senators represent 40 million more Americans than the 50 Republican Senators.

The Electoral College has a built in bias for mostly white conservative rural states.

These facts tell us who actually are the marginalized victims of disproportionate, unfair and reduced representation in our government.

Blacks, other minorities, women, and Democrats.

It’s no coincidence, or quirk of demographics, that the Republican Party and its elected officials are overwhelmingly conservative white men.

No wonder their fear of democracy and equality drives the radical Right into fits of lies, false accusations, demonization, and denials of election results.

To hold power they STILL need to cheat, suppress voter rights and seize partisan control of elections.

Elections are rigged all right. In favor of Republicans.

“I am an old-fashioned American citizen who believes in our traditional values of freedom, truth, and justice. When I see our laws and government subverted and twisted into service of the undemocratic, powerful, corporate oligarchy, I must react with a patriotic defense of our values. I strongly oppose the ongoing destruction of what is left of American democracy and shall give voice to our common cause of freedom. “

Hey Dumb Ass, this is YOUR PARTY, and YOUR PRESIDENT. who are doing those thiy that is Killing this country!

In the California recall, Trump and Elder were claiming fraud even before the votes were counted.

Trump's been saying since 2016 that if he lost, that would mean the election was rigged, and he's continued that lie to this day.

It's too bad his cultists don't see through his treachery. IMO they don't because 1) they want to believe his lies, and 2) they're not smart enough to understand what his lies are meant to accomplish.

As we know, authoritarian followers will follow their authoritarian leaders without question. Their vast propaganda network assures ideological conformity and acceptance of the leaders' lies.

Reality and reason are sacrificed to loyalty and unity under the Leader. And what unites them most is hate for all others. Others' criticism of Dear Leader is taken as hate for them. Being anti-Trump is the same as being anti-American in their extreme authoritarian nationalism.

Orwell understood fascism. "Ignorance is strength."

“The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command."

And of course Trump is their Big Brother.

Trump also told his followers to reject the evidence of their eyes and ears. It was his final, most essential command.

“Just remember, what you are seeing and what you are reading is not what's happening.” Donald J Trump

Elder followed the pattern.

After saying Biden had won "fair and square," he went on the radio and asked for a "mulligan." Then he started tweeting about election "shenanigans" in 2020. By the time he appeared on Fox News on Labor Day weekend, the flip-flop was complete.

Elder said Biden did not win "fairly and squarely" and rattled off a vague, Trumpian list of falsehoods about Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Hunter Biden, Big Tech "censorship," the works.

Dubya,

There is all this noise about voter suppression in republican controlled states. here is also a lot of noise about the rich paying their fair share.

Can you name one thing about the voter suppression in GA, TX and FL.
Since 50% of the country does not pay FIT and since the top 1% pay 40% of FIT collected, what do you consider a fair share. Shouldn't everyone pay into the running of the government even if it is a nominal amount. Wouldn't paying a fair share be fair?

Hi, Skuddy.

One thing about voter suppression in every Republican controlled state is the strategic targeting of minority communities. As if extreme gerrymandering them out of fair representation weren't enough. Some examples are restricting their access to polls, drop boxes, and early voting. Banning being given water in long lines is also an evil tactic in itself.

Everyone earning fair wages pays federal taxes. Well. Not quite.

Do you think its fair for schoolteachers to pay higher FIT rates than Trump and Bezos?

Bezos, chief executive of Amazon and the owner of The Washington Post, paid $973 million in taxes on $4.22 billion in income, as his wealth soared by $99 billion, resulting in a 0.98% “true tax rate.”

The companies avoiding income taxes in 2020 represent very different sectors of the U.S. economy:

Food conglomerate Archer Daniels Midland enjoyed $438 million of U.S. pretax income last year and received a federal tax rebate of $164 million.

The delivery giant FedEx zeroed out its federal income tax on $1.2 billion of U.S. pretax income in 2020 and received a rebate of $230 million.

The shoe manufacturer Nike didn’t pay a dime of federal income tax on almost $2.9 billion of U.S. pretax income last year, instead enjoying a $109 million tax rebate.

The cable TV provider Dish Network paid no federal income taxes on $2.5 billion of U.S. income in 2020.

The software company Salesforce avoided all federal income taxes on $2.6 billion of U.S. income.

Go get em, Dave! The noise isn't so deafening anymore and hopefully that was enough for Skuddy. As for Don Jose, what can I say? Excellent retort.

Thanks, Tim.

We both know facts and reasoning cannot penetrate the cult mind. Their indoctrinated anger and authoritarian hatred need to be vented, so they lash out at anything they perceive as a threat to their cult brainwashing. It won't be long until their cult trains them to see everyone else as communists who hate America.

Their support for Trump after his coup shows they are well on their way to the brink.

As their Dear Leader said at the radical Right Turning Point rally:

“Like it or not, we are becoming a communist country. That’s what’s happening.”

"The radical left democrat communist party"

This is fascism. There's no other word for this. It is the essence of fascist demonization lifted directly from Hitler's playbook.
