"Buh-lieve Me"

“When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time.” ~Maya Angelou

Two years ago today:

In an interview on February 28th 2016, Birther Trump would not disavow David Duke and the KKK.

JAKE TAPPER: I want to ask you about the Anti-Defamation League, which this week called on you to publicly condemn unequivocally the racism of former KKK grand wizard David Duke, who recently said that voting against you at this point would be treason to your heritage.

Will you unequivocally condemn David Duke and say that you don't want his vote or that of other white supremacists in this election?

TRUMP: Well, just so you understand, I don't know anything about David Duke. OK? I don't know anything about what you're even talking about with white supremacy or white supremacists. So, I don't know.

I don't know, did he endorse me or what's going on, because, you know, I know nothing about David Duke. I know nothing about white supremacists. And so you're asking me a question that I'm supposed to be talking about people that I know nothing about.

TAPPER: But I guess the question from the Anti-Defamation League is, even if you don't know about their endorsement, there are these groups and individuals endorsing you. Would you just say unequivocally you condemn them and you don't want their support?

TRUMP: Well, I have to look at the group. I mean, I don't know what group you're talking about.

You wouldn't want me to condemn a group that I know nothing about. I would have to look. If you would send me a list of the groups, I will do research on them. And, certainly, I would disavow if I thought there was something wrong.

TAPPER: The Ku Klux Klan?

TRUMP: But you may have groups in there that are totally fine, and it would be very unfair. So, give me a list of the groups, and I will let you know.

TAPPER: OK. I mean, I'm just talking about David Duke and the Ku Klux Klan here, but...

TRUMP: I don't know any -- honestly, I don't know David Duke. I don't believe I have ever met him. I'm pretty sure I didn't meet him. And I just don't know anything about him.

A former NFL player called President Trump the "first black president," during a Black History Month roundtable in the White House Cabinet Room on Thursday.

The affair largely involved the black leaders in attendance praising the president as Trump touted his record -- while taking shots at the media. The player who made the comment was Jack Brewer, a former NFL safety who played college ball at Southern Methodist University before embarking a five-year journeyman pro career. Brewer is also an ordained minister, a professor at Fordham University and a vocal pro-Trump booster on social media.

"I've got to say this because it's Black History Month. Man, you're the first black president," Brewer said as the event was winding down.

Birther Trump's pandering to racists and white nationalists is well documented. I'm pleased JTF takes no issue with facts presented, as well he shouldn't.

Yes, even some black authoritarian personalities like Trump.Just because there were a few Jews in Hitler's Wehrmacht, doesn't mean Hitler didn't hate, blame, and slaughter millions of them.

It would only fit the pattern for an authoritarian black servant of Mammon to call Trump the “first black president”. How nuts is that? Right Wing authoritarians are well-known for dismissing facts and denying reality, amirite, JTF?

Wall Street banker and money-man Brewer joins fellow authoritarian fringe blacks Diamond and Silk in supporting Trump. That's the kind of brain trust they have there.

Brewer also predicted that there would be a "black awakening" in the US which would lead to Trump receiving 20% or more of the African-American vote in 2020.

My money says otherwise. Any takers?

“I think the 3.4 percent is really a false number. Now, this is just my hunch, but based on and lot of conversations with a lot of people that do this, because a lot of people will have this and it is very mild... So if, you know, we have thousands or hundreds of thousands of people that get better, just by, you know, sitting around and even going to work, some of them go to work, but they get better...” said the most ignorant and dishonest president in history.

The WHO Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus knows better. “Globally, about 3.4 percent of reported COVID-19 cases have died; by comparison, seasonal flu generally kills far fewer than 1 percent of those infected.”

Dave Dubya said...

It's nice to know an honest and intelligent Tim from Texas. Help it turn blue!

Dave Dubya said...

Just The Facts seems afraid to take a bet on "Trump receiving 20% or more of the African-American vote in 2020".

He must also not believe Trump is the "first black president" too. He's just too shy to admit it.

Or maybe he's ashamed to admit the truth? Con-servatives hate to do that, as abundantly demonstrated.

Just the Facts! said...

Dave, did you experience voter suppression in the MI primary? Bernie implied there was suppression.

As the polls were about to close in the crucial swing state of Michigan, Sen. Bernie Sanders (S-USSR) appeared to accuse his fellow Democrats of engaging in voter suppression. Sanders won an upset victory in Michigan in 2016, a victory that led him to claim he could create a new Democratic coalition in 2020. Yet former Vice President Joe Biden powerfully defeated Sanders in Michigan on Tuesday, and Sanders may have been crafting a narrative to undermine Biden's win.

"At a time when Democrats correctly attack Republicans for voter suppression, it is disappointing to see people standing in long lines for hours today waiting to vote in Michigan and around the country," Sanders said in an official statement released by his campaign. "People should not have to miss a day of work to exercise their right to vote. This is an outrage. Election officials must address these problems immediately, and if necessary, keep polling places open longer."

Dave Dubya said...

Bernie's concerns are valid.

I never have long waits by voting in the morning. Ann Arbor reported two hour waits, due to high turnout, which is still nothing compared to wait times in Texas.

This record turnout is bad news for Trump. About 1.2 million Democratic ballots were cast in the 2016 presidential primary. On Tuesday, close to 1.6 million Democratic ballots were cast. If this turnout level holds, Trump's extremely narrow margin from 2016 will be obliterated.

Now, about that bet...Are you willing to back Brewer's idea of "Trump receiving 20% or more of the African-American vote in 2020".

Simple terms. After the election I will admit he was right, or you will admit he was wrong in your first comment after the election.

Just a test to see if you can admit the truth.

Just the Facts! said...

So it was the democrats who did the voter suppression, you realize how odd that sounds.

Or is it Trump's fault like Michael Moore claims that Bernie lost MI.?

Dave Dubya said...

"So it was the democrats who did the voter suppression, you realize how odd that sounds."

It sounds odd because you are the only person making this claim.

I'm guessing the same holds true for Moore.

Now about that bet. No guts, no glory, son.

Dave Dubya said...

A mystery.

For some reason, a comment from "Anonymous" indicated a grudge and sense of outrage over an unspecified personal slight.

Still censoring me I see, and you expect me to act in good faith with you? I haven’t forgotten your allowing lies about me and preventing me from defending myself in the past. So take your “bet” and stick it up your “gl@ry” h@le.

Wouldn't it be helpful to know who this particularly angry person might be? Does he think he's the only "anonymous" person out there, and doesn't need to identify himself? That doesn't seem to be in good faith at all.

How special. Anonymous seems fearful of owning his statements. Poor insecure guy.

I also wonder why Anonymous felt the bet I proposed to JTF was for him? I suppose this kind of confusion could result from a state of anger and resentment.

I guess the identity of this poor emotionally delicate thing is just a mystery we will have to live with...

In the meantime, Anonymous, take a couple slow deep breaths and count to 10. Try to focus on who you are and what you wish to communicate.

But I can say this much. If you don't want to admit you're wrong, you are wise to not take the bet. Now JTF will probably be spooked and afraid to take the bet too.

TB3 said...

And to think, all they have to do is avoid being a racist and using hate speech and they can sit at the adult table.

Imagine, maybe, changing how you approach your online life and possibly just engage in a good faith conversation

No. JTF doesn't want to change how he acts online, YOU CHANGE DAVE. YOU CHANGE.

Man, the entitlement is strong. Also i'm curious as to what "defending myself" means. JTF never actually addresses the things directed at him. I wonder what lie he's referring to? Was it being called about his "father" in WW2? I believe I recall his defense being a series of insults and incoherent bombast.

Dave Dubya said...

I have no idea what his gripe is this time. It could be anything or nothing at all. It doesn't matter. He is programmed by his ideology to be a victim. He has to blame somebody, and it can't be his tribe. It is the manifestation of the authoritarian personality's over-active amygdala. Their primitive fight or flight center is more easily activated than ours. Yes, this tells us who are the real snowflakes.

First they get suspicious and upset, then they get resentful, then they blame, then they get angry and hateful.

And it's NEVER their fault. We exist to be their scapegoats and targets of rage.

This is the psychological cycle they must follow in their cult bubble.

If not for their Victim Card (TM) their deck would be all incoherent deuces and treys.

TB3 said...

"If not for their Victim Card (TM) their deck would be all incoherent deuces and treys."

Except the victim card being played is also incoherent. Seeing as how the person playing the card doesn't actually explain how life has slighted them and their entitlement.

In January, President Trump restricted people coming in from China. He was called this and that for that action, but now it can be seen that the president was both prudent and foresighted. That is what leadership looks like. Europe currently has a greater problem with the Wuhan Virus because it did not act in a similar fashion. The Democrats and media will never give Trump credit for this, but the average person sees it, thus discrediting both the media and Democrats even more. Plus it drives home the point once again that borders are vital to a nation's security and well-being.

Dave Dubya said...

Victim cards don't require evidence. It's all about FEELING like the victim, just because.

We see JTF has no confidence in the crazed boast of a 20% African American turnout for Trump.

Poor JTF hasn't figured out the fact a virus sees no borders and walls won't stop it. Humans legally cross borders, all borders. The virus didn't come in through the Mexican border.

To make matters worse, the least qualified president in history cut funding for the CDC and eliminated the pandemic response office. (Tax cuts for corporations and the rich were more important than the health and safety of Americans. USDA meat inspectors got cut too. How will self-inspecting by the corporate factory farm industry work out? Only vegetarians will be safe.)

Trump's confused incoherent and mumbling address did nothing to console the nation.

He has lied about the virus and disagreed with the World Health Organization on lethality on a "hunch".

"The 15, within a couple of days, is going to be down to close to zero."

Guess what. It's spreading exponentially.

"Anyone can get tested" is another lie.

This is not smart or effective leadership at all. It is MIS-leadership. My next post may be on how the mis-leader has mis-handled the crisis.

His approval ratings have peaked, and are now on the way back down.

" The Democrats and media will never give Trump credit for this, but the average person sees it, thus discrediting both the media and Democrats even more." - JTF

What does this even mean? The travel restrictions in January were reported on extensively. Ooo, some didn't agree with the measures? Boohoo. Lockstep has never been our M.O. Look at the eight years of the Obama administration and the reaction to DIJON MUSTARD on a burger created. DD, you're absolutely right, it's just about always being a victim. What a sad, miserable life people like JTF must live when they feel that all they have is to complain about made up slights.

"Trump's confused incoherent and mumbling address did nothing to console the nation." - DD

Though it was less than adaquate at calming the nation, it was a remarkable reversal from the President's previous position on the virus being a DEMOCRATIC HOAX.

I want to point out, the Coronavirus situation should not be a politicized event. I am rooting for the President, our medical and emergency professionals, and everyone in our Nation. Unfortunately, our President seems to only regard things in a political nature. Bush handled SARS professionally and effectively. Obama handled the Swing Flu and Ebola professionally and effectively. Neither one of them ignored it and claimed those outbreaks to be some sort of lunatic political hitjob.

Just the Facts! said...

the fact a virus sees no borders and walls won't stop it. Humans LEGALLY cross borders, all borders." Humans carry the virus, glad you finally got woke.

Thanks for making the President's point, close the borders, no humans carrying the virus enter, pretty simple...what is Sanders plan to stop the virus, open borders, of course it is, Dave's plan, oppose anything President Trump does. Both could care less how many Americans die due to their plans. And this virus is showing just how anti-American they are.

Then there is the pure glee that the President's approval ratings are dropping that Dave revels in, which really shows how much of he hates Americans. The hell with America, if it hurts Trump it's good, after all the ends justify s the means.
Right Dave, not that you will post this, but I know you read it and you know it is true.

Just the Facts! said...

According to the CDC, from April 2009 to April 2010,(Obama was President) the H1N1 outbreak resulted in 12,469 deaths in the U.S. The 2020 coronavirus (COVID-19) had over 4,000 deaths around the world as of March 10, 2020. As of March 10, 2020, there have been 25 deaths in the U.S.

Trump’s administration declared a public health emergency PRIOR to any deaths. The first person to die from the coronavirus in the U.S. died in late February 2020. The truth is Vice President Mike Pence's office is in charge of all novel coronavirus MESSAGING after several aides blamed negative coverage about the response on too many mixed messages from senior members of the administration. NYT 2/27/20

Pence put into place procedures that stopped a HIV out break in Scott County, Indiana, caused by needle sharing. Pence who had been against handing out clean needles bent his position and within months the HIV our break was contained. He did the correct thing and ended the outbreak. So why again is he the wrong person?

"We applaud President Trump for putting Vice President Pence in charge of the U.S. government’s response to the novel coronavirus pandemic. The Bipartisan Commission on Biodefense we co-chair made this very recommendation four years ago. Too bad it took a crisis to get it done, but that’s Washington." The White House deserves credit for issuing a National Biodefense Strategy in 2018
Sen. Joseph Lieberman, Tom Ridge

4 YEARS AGO, WHY THAT WAS WHEN OBAMA WAS PRESIDENT. Wonder if he wants to take credit for that? But more importantly, when will the left stop using this crisis for political gain?
Example: CA Dem Gov. Newsom Praises Trump’s Coronavirus Response: ‘Every Single Thing He Said They Followed Through On’.

Schumer on Coronavirus: ‘We Are Very Worried About the President’s Incompetence’

Just once Dave don't follow the anti Trump cult talking points, this is above politics.

Dave Dubya said...

I published a couple JTF's incoherent screeds to illustrate how the Right fabricates resentments and need to lash out with false accusations. Poor little victims.

Then completely failing to get any points we make he declares, "this is above politics".

All he's doing is screaming, "Trump IS America! Anti-Trump IS anti-America! How dare you hate America!!"

Of course, it's "not racist" that the same standard didn't apply to the black president. Well, maybe it is a tad racist, amirite? Of course mental illness or Obama Derangement Syndrome may apply.

Hypocrisy is a concept that never applies to the radical Right, of course.

Given all the facts of negligence and misleading lies from Trump, no wonder he needs to deflect his anger towards me. Pretty insane.

And he proves he has no clue about the nature of his cult. Everyone but his Dear Leader are liars. THAT is the very definition of a cult.

I agree, the Coronavirus situation should not be a politicized event. But when you have a leader and party who want to take healthcare away from people with pre-existing conditions, healthcare has already been politicized.

So Trump is now blaming Obama.

Trump’s bogus effort to blame Obama for sluggish coronavirus testing

"When things get tough in the Trump administration, the president has a default position — blame Barack Obama."

It's always the black guy's fault. Nothing racist about that, amirite?

Just the Facts! said...

Democratic presidential candidates harshly criticized President Donald Trump for using the term “hoax” in connection with the coronavirus outbreak. There’s no question that the president described the disease as the Democrats’ “new hoax” at a political rally on Feb. 28 in South Carolina.

But the following day, after the death of the first American from coronavirus in Washington state, Trump said that when he used the word “hoax,” he was referring to Democrats finding fault with his administration’s response to coronavirus, not the virus itself.

Even after Trump explained his remarks, some Democrats — including former New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg — continued to wrongly accuse Trump of describing the coronavirus as a “hoax.”

Dave Dubya said...

Trump did declare a public health emergency, and that was proper.

But it isn't enough.

He needs to declare a national emergency.

As the Washington Post points out:

“There are consequences to the delay. The FEMA Disaster Relief Fund has $42.6 billion. Trump declaring a national emergency would give the administration access to that pool of money to help manage the fallout from the spread of the virus, including setting up mobile hospitals and transporting the infected. Perhaps more importantly, it would open a gusher of money to states, counties and cities that may soon be overwhelmed by a surge in cases. An emergency declaration means that the federal government picks up 75 percent of the cost of eligible protective measures so long as the state picks up the other 25 percent.”

JTF must hate America if he disagree with this. ;-)

Dave Dubya said...

Wouldn't it help if Trump didn't label every criticism and fact of evidence against him as a "hoax"?

It's like the boy who cried, "Wolf".

He welcomed Russian help. He obstructed the investigation. He lied about coronavirus. He lies about everything.

The fact is, whenever he says "hoax", it is a lie.

But your cult leader never lies, amirite?

TB3 said...

When everything the President and his supporters don't like is a hoax or witch hunt, than nothing is.

"But the following day, after the death of the first American from coronavirus in Washington state, Trump said that when he used the word “hoax,” he was referring to Democrats finding fault with his administration’s response to coronavirus, not the virus itself." - JTF

The President and his supporters really need to come to the understanding that words have actual definitions and meaning.

“Now the Democrats are politicizing the coronavirus. You know that, right? Coronavirus. They’re politicizing it. We did one of the great jobs . . . They tried the impeachment hoax. That was on a perfect conversation. They tried anything, they tried it over and over, they’ve been doing it since you got in. It’s all turning, they lost, it’s all turning. Think of it. Think of it. And this is their new hoax. But you know, we did something that’s been pretty amazing. We’re 15 people in this massive country. And because of the fact that we went early, we went early, we could have had a lot more than that . . . we’ve lost nobody, and you wonder, the press is in hysteria mode.“ - President Trump

Note he said this at a political rally, so the irony of complaining about it being politicized is palpable. If he's not calling the virus itself a hoax here, than I fear the man doesn't actually know what hoax means. And in turn, the JTFs of the world are willfully making themselves ignorant of what hoax means.

I'll go one step further than DD. Whenever our President says something is a 'hoax', what he is doing is actively attempting to gaslight his supporters and the Nation.

Dave Dubya said...

Indeed, "Whenever our President says something is a 'hoax', what he is doing is actively attempting to gaslight his supporters and the Nation".

To the gas-lighted cult, this is a confession to treason. No wonder every democrat, sane republican, and moderate who disagrees with Dear Leader is a traitor.

Dave Dubya said...

I’m not going to publish all three of JTF’s latest diatribes and personal attacks, just this bit.

After complaining I included the Post’s remarks before Trump’s speech, he pulled some more false accusations from his rectal thought processing center.

“Not that you will ever admit it, but you are so wrong. So filled with hate for Trump, he could cure cancer and you would claim it wasn’t enough or racist. WILL OBAMA TAKE CREDIT FOR THIS? Or is asking that question racist?”

Wrong about what? He didn’t say, of course. He just FEELS it. “Filled with hate” would be his usual projection that reflects his rage over my reporting Trump's falling approval rating. A basic psychiatric observation confirms this.

Then there was his “not racist” derogatory insinuation about the black guy whom he and Trump blame for everything.

So, he still hasn’t accepted my friendly bet on 20% of black people voting for Trump.

Is he chicken? Or doesn’t he really even believe the crap he posts here? It just FEELS good. It's really that simple. It FEELS good to attack those you hate, or what you don't understand, or what you fear. This is his cult's MO.

I’m thankful I’m not as mentally and emotionally disturbed as he is. A blessing most of us can count.

Dave Dubya said...

JTF is having a dialogue with himself. Here’s a peek:

“MSNBC and CNN thirsting for the death toll to increase and markets to collapse.. It’s grotesque... enemies of the people... If Trump does anything, it’s terrible... bitching about Trump...”

Lies, resentment, demonization, anger, victimhood, and hate are his indoctrinated responses. Adolf and Goebbels would be proud of their white nationalist American disciples.

Dave Dubya said...

Poor JTF. He’s still quite angry and flustered.

He correctly quoted what I wrote before Trump declared a national emergency, apparently thinking he was calling me out for some imagined mental lapse.

“Trump did declare a public health emergency, and that was proper. But it isn’t enough. He needs to declare a national emergency”. He pretended I wrote that after the fact.

And then, in his fevered rage, he thought he could insult me. But, honestly, how could I be upset by a tantrum from a 7-year-old?

He really did give me a good laugh with this one:

“Hey stupid, he did declare a national emergency, other than being a coward, what’s your problem now? I’ll take up your bet if you stop censorious me, now whose is the coward?”

A philosophical question for the ages.

Whose is the coward to censorious him?

Dave Dubya said...

While we’re sharing some comedy, someone just showed me a tweet that reminded me of JTF:

“Had a small “disagreement” (yes, I am being polite) with a MAGA today.

I told him I could write a thesis on the bizarre, insanely disturbing culture of the MAGA world. He responded with “what the hell is a thesis?”

TB3 said...

“what the hell is a thesis?”

That is funny.

It is, however, kind of frustrating to see the horrible effects of decades of Anti-Intellectualism has had on what could have been reasonable people.

It's not frustrating in a way my fellow Americans should feel smug about. It's frustrating in that they clearly love some concept of our country, but they can't see passed their Ditto-Head blinders to understand they are collectively hurting that which they purport to love.
