Sarah, the Wise and Experienced Warrior and Stateswoman

Well, well, it looks like Obama has his war after all. Hey, that's what the job calls for. He wanted to be the manager of a militarist corporate surveillance state.

He's got the perfect bad guys, too, custom made by the catastrophic failures of Bush's invasion of Iraq.

The renegade Islamic State thugs are succeeding in their efforts to draw the US into more war. Kill a couple journalists and let the American corporate media do the rest. “Freak out! NOW!. They’re coming to kill us in our sleep!"

Does anyone remember just before Bush launched his invasion of Iraq? We learned Americans are led to war like sheep. Let me show you how well the brainwashing worked:

Poll: 70% believe Saddam, 9-11 link
Posted 9/6/2003

WASHINGTON (AP) — Nearly seven in 10 Americans believe it is likely that ousted Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein was personally involved in the Sept. 11 attacks, says a poll out almost two years after the terrorists' strike against this country.

Sixty-nine percent in a Washington Post poll published Saturday said they believe it is likely the Iraqi leader was personally involved in the attacks carried out by al-Qaeda. A majority of Democrats, Republicans and independents believe it's likely Saddam was involved.

Yes, I'm afraid it CAN happen here. Good Americans are just like the Good Germans of 1939.

Couple that with the strategy that works every time:

All that we have to do is to send two Mujahedin to the farthest point East to raise a piece of cloth on which is written al-Qa’ida in order to make the generals race there to cause America to suffer human economic and political losses without their achieving for it anything of note other than some benefits to their private companies… So we are continuing this policy in bleeding America to the point of bankruptcy. --- Osama bin laden

Remember when the Right used to lecture, "We need to listen to what the enemy says"?

IS learned something from old bin-Laden. The best way to hurt America is to draw it into ANOTHER futile military adventure in Iraq. It wasn't that long ago I predicted, quite easily, of course, an Iraq War III. It was inevitable after Bush’s disastrous war for crony profit and political capital.

Now Americans have been whipped into another frenzy of war fever. Two murdered journalists have stoked the public ire more than thousands of children shot in America.

Yes, the Islamic State are evil and brutal fanatics. Yes, they need to be stopped. And no, the US isn’t the only country that should act. This is why we have the UN.

But some Americans want another war, and want it now. Perhaps we’d have more military support from other nations if they hadn’t made the mistake of believing the lies of Bush and Cheney the last time around.

So lucky for us, Sarah Palin has some military and foreign policy advice for President Obama, Oh, yes the Twit of the Tundra is sharpening her claws for war.

First thing first. Blame the black guy for the mess Bush created. Blame Obama that IS has seized American made weapons from the feeble Iraqi military that replaced the professional one Bush had dissolved.

Blame the black guy for the Status of Forces Agreement signed by Bush that removed troops from Iraq.

Throw in some far Right propaganda points about Obama “leading from behind”, or hating America,  or whatever toxic swill of hate they love to spew.

Palin knows just who to blame,“The rise of the animalistic terror group, ISIS, is the result of Obama’s lead-from-behind foreign policy.” I guess, this is how hypocrites “support the president” in a time of war.

“He had broadcast his war strategy for all the enemy to see in Iraq, so the enemy could wait us out and strike as soon as America turned tail and turned away from all we’d sacrificed there. Terrorists who we had under control got to regroup and grow after Obama’s premature pull out. Those are the facts, and some tough talking speech is still just talk.”

Yeah, Sarah, never mind the cult of the far Right was just this week accusing Obama of having no strategy. I suppose that would make sense to someone who blames Obama that, “America turned tail and turned away from all we’d sacrificed there”. Again, it was BUSH who signed the agreement to leave, under pressure from Iraqis sick of the occupation. Just blame the black guy, like a good racist, war mongering idiot. The RRBC Radical Right Bubble Cult is full of them.

She fumes, “Terrorists who we had under control got to regroup and grow after Obama’s premature pull out.”  Or would that also be false?

But what about the terrorists we created by invading Iraq? Damn, some of us got that one correct, too.

Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the head of the jihadist terror group was detained without charges by US forces, for reasons unclear, and confined in Camp Bucca. Although he was released into Iraqi custody in 2009, (Before, not after, the  alleged “premature pull out") former inmates of Camp Bucca say the military prison was a training ground for extremism.

Curiously, James Skylar Gerrond, a former US Air Force security forces officer and a compound commander at Camp Bucca in 2006 and 2007, also says that he believes Baghdadi's stay at the prison contributed to his radicalization—or at least bolstered his extremism.

So, Sarah, “Those are the facts, and some tough talking speech is still just talk.”

Yes, America, listen to the tough talking Quitter in Lipstick. She’s the “experienced expert” to guide our nation.

“War is hell. So go big or go home, Mr. President,” exhorts the woman who, AFTER being nominated for vice-president, needed to be taught who we were at war with in WWI and in Korea.

And all those "Good Americans" listen to her.

What. A. Country.

Wouldn't it be Obama the wise warrior statesman, since he's the one leading this?

BTW, how many Americans need be murdered by ISIS before you'd support fighting them?

Let's hope Obama finds wisdom in this, or is listening to Sarah wise? She's the arrogant presumptuous one telling him what to do, in case you missed my point.

How many MORE non-Americans has IS killed? Shouldn't we find common cause and cooperation?

This is still a religious civil war. The stated primary targets of IS are Shiites. The mess is so convoluted, we would be supporting Assad and Iran if we jump in without thinking.

So what's your plan?

I'm fairly confident that Obama isn't taking his ques from Sarah Palin. But hey, if that makes it easier for you...

As for IS, they've killed thousands if not millions, and I'm sure many of the victim's families are eager to help.

As for the religious nature of the war... that is true... on the part of ISIS. That doesn't get them out of jail free either with Obama or pretty much anyone else.

Except you.

All this post did is convince me the only people still talking about Sarah Palin are the left. Its getting kinda creepy the obsession.

Drama with the Palin family? Who could've imagined?

What's creepy is the fact Americans are STILL corporate media-fed the vacuous Palin the celebrity, and STILL LISTEN to Palin. And Rush...and FOX(R)...ad nauseam.

So, Free, what's your plan? I've asked you several times now, and all you can come up with is "Dave loves terrorists" or some such gibberish.

You should try reading the post. It answers some of your charges, seeing as how you always want to make it about your twisted vision of me and what I say.

My idea is fundamentally the same as President Obama. Destroy ISIS. If we can do that from the air, fine. If they meld into the civilian population and it requires ground operations to root them out, that's fine too.

And the left's creepy obsession with Palin is a little stalkerish.

I mean, I'd go the rest of my life without giving her another thought if it wasn't for the left constantly wanting to mull her over.

ISIS (or ISIL or IS, or whatever it's being called today) is another false-flag creation to enhance the permanent war culture and circle the wagons around a common enemy.

If the objective is to destroy ISIS (or ISIL or IS...), than eliminate its creators and financiers first.

Permanent war and permanent fear...brought to you by the Corporate-State.

Well, at least you have to say this for Sarah- when there's trouble, she's evidently willing to get in there and start throwing punches herself. Beats the rest of those chicken hawks.

GE,
I will always owe Sarah a debt of gratitude. If not for her, I would never have become a Tina Fey fan.

We can thank Sarah for so many, many laughs.

Dave Dubya: "We can thank Sarah for so many, many laughs."

I often wonder if, during the collapsing and crumbing of history's other empires, the governed (and the governors) also had to endure their own Palin-like politicians who were as dense and irrational?

Is she an aberration?...or a sign of the real insanity that's to come?

I wounder if in past empires, asinine people pondered the actions and opinions of those who had exactly zero bearing on the trajectory of their countries?

Who was the Sarah Palin of the Roman Empire and did they have an equivalent to her reality TV star status? In any event, did liberals of the time choose to focus on her equivalent instead of paying attention to all the conflict within, bad tax policy throughout, and and over extended welfare state of, the empire?

Bread and circuses I guess. Its all over this blog post.

Depends. Did they have a FOX(R) to prop them up as people with opinions that matter?

Sarah evidently represents such a person to the circus of the far Right.

We can thank Obama, at the least, for assuring for us she has "zero bearing on the trajectory".

Her stupidity, false beliefs, and arrogance pollutes our national media and replaces thoughtful educated perspective.

I didn't put her there. Murdoch and Kochs see to that.

I'm pretty sure Obama isn't taking his ques from Sarah Palin, but if this story is driven by Fox then you clearly are taking YOUR ques from them.

As for this blog, you're the one creepyly obsessing on her.

Dave still hasn't answered how many Americans ISIS need kill before war is justified. I'm betting there is no number high enough.

Jefferson's Guardian said...

Free0352: "Dave still hasn't answered how many Americans ISIS need kill before war is justified."

Dave need not answer, because the whole premise of your inquiry is based upon lies and deception. If you think, even for a moment, that ISIS (or ISIL, or IS, or whatever they're calling it today) is a threat to American security, than you're either more naive than I previous thought, or you're undeniably a total player in what looks like will be the biggest M-I-S-C scam since...well, since George Bush convinced the nation we needed to attack Iraq eleven years ago.

The merry-go-round continues to spin...

Apparently to the MIC, neocon warmongers, hotheads, and frightened sheep, two murdered Americans justifies a war that kills thousands, creates more terrorists, and provides even more incentive to attack the US.

How many innocent lives must be sacrificed to avenge two journalists who knowingly put themselves in danger?

One? Ten? A thousand? Hundreds of thousands?

We're following ISIS's game plan here, just like granting bin'Laden's desire that we invade Iraq.

How's that Iraq Freedom workin' out for ya? Is there no possible way to imagine this is all a predictable consequence of Bush and Cheney's war for crony profit and political capital? Is there no way to imagine unintended blowback from the next reckless, emotion-charged leap into war?

How smart is it to always shoot first, ask questions later, or not at all?

I wonder how the families of the 34 Americans killed on the USS Liberty felt when Israel deliberately, and repeatedly, attacked a flag flying US ship? Why not treat Israel the same way as other terrorists organizations?

We're now stuck playing into the "good terrorist/bad terrorist" madness of tribal war.

What have we gained by serving the Israeli Right, and meddling in the Middle East, besides 9-11 and money for Haliburton and Blackwater?

Why is it smart for us to always intervene in local tribal/religious wars? Now the irony is we help Assad and Iran. Beautiful. What could possibly go wrong?

When Free considers these points, I'll be open to discuss how many Americans need to be killed by ISIS before we let all Hell loose again.

Here's my suggestion. We supply the satellite intel. Then have the Iraqis, Saudis and Iran deal with it. Not one more plane or weapon will be sold to them until they do what needs to be done.

I'm OK with support for the Kurds, since they lost more than two journalists, didn't they?

It sure is tough when we need to serve Assad, Iran, Iraq, and the Israel Likud all at once, isn't it?
