Without the Senate, the best either Biden or Sanders could do is a holding action against the further degradation of representative democracy.

Dave Dubyahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03279370558997246976noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-134372208798387606.post-67435660572954449172020-03-05T10:12:11.094-05:002020-03-05T10:12:11.094-05:00"What happened to "Never Trump"?&qu..."What happened to "Never Trump"?"

They gave up? We got Trump. What's the point of being Never Trump when we got Trump.

Now the Never Bernie/Biden trolls are just trying to use the same rhetoric from 2016. It's so ludicrously obvious that social media is being manipulated, that I'm honestly surprised people are allowing themselves to fall for it. I guess for a lot of people online, that aren't malicious actors and trolls, they get a high playing victim or bereaved.

The toxicity online right now is pretty unbearable. As the results for Super Tuesday started rolling in, I turned to my One and Only and said "Time for the Twitter/Reddit Meltdown and lack of introspection"

"If Joe thinks he can reach across the aisle and work with this bunch of Republicons it won't work." - U.P. Time

It might not, but in a Bernie Administration, how would his agenda, plans, and programs get passed? It's incredibly doubtful that he'd have the Super Majority that Obama had in his first two years of office. As much as I like much of his progressive agenda, any of it would be DOA if bills for them got to the Republican controlled Senate. The current Senate already sits on the Democratic bills that reach it now.

But, hey, if Bernie gets the nod, I'm totally voting for him. Need a D in office to install actual judges and lawyers to judicial posts and fill the inevitable Supreme Court vacancies and nix 45's Executive Orders.TB3https://www.blogger.com/profile/18261016141806763895noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-134372208798387606.post-9088533887099675212020-03-04T16:59:35.426-05:002020-03-04T16:59:35.426-05:00Exactly Dave, it's the "Go along to get a...Exactly Dave, it's the "Go along to get along " thing for me too. Their corruption is deeply rooted in our political parties and governing structures.

Our public is too brainwashed by corporate and right wing media to even grasp the concept of democratic socialism. Since the center has been shifting rightward since Reagan, I can't see how any single person like Bernie could affect real change. We need a party of FDR again.

I hope I'm wrong but I think Biden would be more of Obama's "go along to get along" slow-motion disaster. I'm worried only a catastrophic event or depression would turn this country around.

The only way for Democrats to recover is to abandon their corporate sponsors and return to being the party of FDR. The Right called him a socialist too, but he "welcomed their hatred" and became a "traitor to his class".

I understand why many feel Biden has a better chance to beat Trump. He can get more of the middle and Never Trumpers.

I am far more aligned with Bernie's thinking, but will vote for Biden any day over Trump.

What bothers me are the "Never Bernie" and "Never Biden" fanatics who would facilitate Trump's second term, and allow the demise of what remains of our democratic republic. The stacking of the courts are a curse that will last decades as it is. Why risk permanently surrendering the judicial branch?

Anyone who refuses to prioritize the removal of a tyrant is asking for much worse than a corporatist system. They will be inviting fascism.Dave Dubyahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03279370558997246976noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-134372208798387606.post-10607985946225335912020-03-03T16:55:15.838-05:002020-03-03T16:55:15.838-05:00Sure looks like the establishment and corpo-dems w...Sure looks like the establishment and corpo-dems went nuts yesterday 3/2/20. I'm tired of hearing from them and the media that Bernie can't win. How do they really know? I think they're just trying to promote fear and anxiety among the voters. I'm really concerned about picking a Republican-lite candidate and losing. If the young people say ages 18-29 (Bernie supporters) don't vote we're screwed. I know for me that Biden doesn't generate any excitement at all. I don't even know what he stands for yet.U.P. Timnoreply@blogger.com
