Although I haven't been around much (this house is wearing me out), I haven't experienced any problems with your old link. It continues to work just fine for me. :)

This was a well-written post. However, as you point out, the Corporate-owned MSM and the Government are in collusion. So expecting the Government to correct the situation is but an exercise in futility. Even if they crafted legislation to remedy this malady, you can be certain it would be rife with loopholes.

As you also point out, the citizenry lives in the clouded illusion that they still dwell in a democratic republic. This is so far from the truth that, if it weren't so tragic, it would be laughable.

Unfortunately, the solution to this problem is a bitter pill to swallow. The 'Elites' are not the Academics of this nation as we have been led to believe (much like the 'librul media' BS). No, the true 'Elites' are the Corporatists and their bought-and-paid-for Government Lackeys.

Although, as you well know, I am a dyed in the wool pacifist; but the bitter truth is this: The resolution to this problem can no longer be effected at the ballot box (the 2006 and 2008 elections are proof of that). The harsh reality is, the solution lies on the battlefield. Without a violent revolution of a much greater scale than the one we had 233 years ago, the situation will only get worse. Sadly, the Americans of today lack the courage, or the stomach, to remedy this boondoggle as our Forefathers did. As long as they can have their big-screen TVs, SUVs, American Idol, etc, etc, they will gladly be led into subjegation.

You can mark my words on this. The day is fast-approaching, when even those things will be stripped from them. It is the nature of avarice; it cannot be satiated. When it evolves to that point, we will be in survival mode, with little time to think about, much less do anything about, governmental reform.

Have we reached the point of no return yet? I don't know. But I do know this: When you create a monster, you have no right to bitch when it tramples your city.

A good piece of writing Dave. As you may recall with the lead up to and the start of the Iraq war, people were checking the nightly national news then going to the web to fact check the stories. I've found that many many times MSM would only give part of the story in order to slant it to the favor of the administration.
I have since given up on watching the network national news. It's just too jaded to be considered reliable or truthful. Thankfuly we have the internet and enough bloggers willing to research and post more indepth reports.
The real question will be. Do the 18 to 49 age group (the focus of MSM) have the decernment to distinguish and understand when they're being played by corporate interests? It's well known that they don't watch the usual nightly news that their parents do.
