However, I would argue that anyone who has correctly pointed out how our current Commander-in-Chief led us into an illegal, immoral and, above all, unnecessary war deserves praise for being a good American, not chastisement. That’s truth telling, not making “inflammatory comments.” Of course, that was not at all the point of my comment at MSNBC.com. In the course of supporting the “other” party’s nominee, Joe Liebermann did not just decry Obama’s policies, but instead accused Obama of being unpatriotic and un-American, even implying that the country would be unsafe with him as President. These are not the thoughtful (or loyal) comments I want to hear coming from the chairman of the very important Homeland Security Committee. It is simply inappropriate for Lieberman to keep that position after spouting his ugly and untrue venom. Thus, in the part of my MSNBC post that you left out, I encouraged people, and will do so again here, to write or call either their own Senators or Debbie Stabenow (D-MI), chair of the Democratic Steering Committee, and ask for a replacement for Senator Lieberman.<BR/><BR/>I’d also like to encourage you, Notorious, to examine the source of your own anger and apparent blind loyalty to power, which would tend to make a reader label you as an authoritarian personality. Since you appear to be literate, you may want to educate yourself about authoritarian personalities via either the post at this blog from May 13, 2008 or in John Dean’s fine book Conservatives Without Conscience.
